💖 Meet Donna – Sweet, Smart, and So Much Fun! 💖 Donna is the full package — friendly, playful, and oh-so-lovable! This beautiful girl was found as a stray, but you’d never know it from her happy spirit and gentle heart. In her foster home, Donna is great with other dogs and loves playing with her foster brother, Durango. She’s doggie-door trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is learning new skills every day — she’s already working on “sit” like a pro! 🐾 Donna’s the kind of pup who’s always up for fun but also loves winding down with her people. She’s smart, eager to please, and ready to be your loyal adventure buddy. Contact my Foster at (704) 795-8566 to meet me!

Story
🐾 Meet Willie – A Good Boy Who Needs the Right Match 🐾 Willie’s had a rough start — this sweet guy was dumped on Hwy 89 and is now looking for someone who can give him the guidance and structure he deserves. 💔 He’s potty trained, good on leash, and warms up quickly once he knows you. Willie does best with adults or kids over 13 and needs someone who understands how to set clear boundaries and will continue his training with our team’s support. In the home, Willie can be destructive and sometimes marks (we believe this is behavioral, not housetraining-related). With working with our trainer, crate training, regular exercise, and patience, he has great potential to thrive in a consistent, active home. Willie is dog selective — so he’ll need to meet any resident pets before going home. He’s struggling in the shelter and really needs a chance to decompress with a foster or adopter who can help him feel safe again. 🐕 All supplies, food, and medical needs are covered during the foster period. 📱 To learn more or meet Willie, Come by Thurs-Tues 11-5pm! Email foster@highcountryhumane.org if you are interested in fostering

Story
Denali is looking for a loving home! Hi, I'm Denali! My caregivers don't know much about my past but they took such good care of me and my 7 pups when we were brought in! While it took some time for me to get comfortable enough to show my true personality, I'm now ready to find my forever home! I get along great with other dogs, but I would still like to meet any of your furry friends before going home with you! I’m fully potty-trained! I have some Separation Anxiety so please make sure that you are asking my foster parent about how to create the best environment for me to thrive in. Contact my foster by TEXT at (603) 230-0722 to set up a meet-n-greet or ask additional questions! Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped (we register it for free!). Each adoption also includes a free health exam. Please bring a leash and collar with you or plan to purchase here. We can’t wait to help you meet your new furry friend!

Meet Roxy!Roxy is a beautiful and energetic Beagle/Heeler mix looking for her forever home! She is an active girl who thrives on adventure and loves staying busy. Whether it`s hiking long trails, running around the yard, or playing a lively game of tug or fetch, Roxy is always ready to go!Once Roxy knows and trusts you, she transforms into a sweet, loyal snuggle bug who just wants to curl up in your lap and be close. She can be shy and nervous with strangers at first, but with patience and consistency, she warms up and forms strong bonds. Roxy is a great walking companion! She walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and responds well to food-based redirection, making her easy to train and manage on outings. Due to her strong personality and specific needs, Roxy must be the only pet in the house-she does not get along with other dogs or cats. She can also be possessive of her food and may growl or bite if approached while eating. She is currently working on this behavior and is making great progress, but she needs a home where her boundaries will be respected and training will be ongoing.Because of her nervous nature, Roxy should not be placed in a home with young children. Sudden movements and unpredictable behavior can be overwhelming for her. She would do best in a home with someone who understands that building trust takes time-and who is committed to continuing her training and providing the active lifestyle she craves. Roxy is a smart, sensitive, and loving dog who just needs the right person to help her shine. If you`re an experienced dog owner ready to give Roxy the structure, activity, and care she needs, she`ll reward you with loyalty, affection, and a lifetime of companionship.
