Story
** Currently fostered in Houston Texas, but available for adoption out of state via rescue transportation, included in adoption fee. Offer Zoom call to virtually meet prior to adoption. Meet Barkley! This sweet baby wandered up on someone's property. He was wearing a harness on that had the brand name boots and barkley, so that's where the finder got his name. Barkley was chipped, but unfortunately it was not registered. It shows that he was adopted in January2023, and that he is estimated about 5 years of age. He currently weighs around 55 lbs and we believe him to be a border collie/cattle dog mix. He has energy and he loves to run and play, but can be a couch potato too. His favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball! Barkley likes other dogs if they are female, but has not been a fan of males. We believe it's from a lack of social time with other dogs because he doesn't come off as just an aggressive pup, he just seems like he was kept in a yard and ignored a lot of the time prior to rescue and may not be familiar with most dogs. Barkley clearly knows his basic commands, such as sit, kennel, shake and settle. He is highly toy and food motivated and responds wonderfully to focused training. With continued training, we could even see him being an agility pup! Barkley is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is fully vetted, meaning he us neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventions for flea, tick and heartworm. Story
Meet Junior Junior is a handsome, medium-sized mixed breed with soulful eyes and a quiet charm. At around six years old, he's a dog who has learned to be cautious after living in unpredictable situations. This means he can be shy with new people, but don't let that fool you. Underneath his reserved exterior is a gentle, affectionate dog who truly wants to connect. Since arriving at our shelter, Junior has made great progress. With routine, patience, and positive reinforcement, he's showing his sweet side-checking in for comfort, leaning in for reassurance, and enjoying calm walks. When given slow introductions, time to sniff, and a few tasty treats, Junior warms up beautifully. Junior has been meeting new people, going on walks with volunteers, and is doing amazing! Training & Support Junior will need adopters who understand under-socialized dogs and are committed to helping him build confidence. He thrives with: -Predictable routines and gentle handling -Positive, reward-based training -A quiet retreat space, like an open crate Ideal Home Junior would do best in: -A calm, structured environment -A home without cats or children -Ideally the only dog, though he may do well with a calm female dog -Detached home, townhome, or ground-level apartment (no elevators) Why Junior? Junior is looking for someone who believes in gentle, positive change and wants to make a meaningful difference in a dog’s life. With patience and love, this brave boy will blossom into a loyal companion. If you want to help a deserving dog learn that people can be safe and loving, Junior is your guy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Apply? Story
**About Bubu:** Thank you for interested in adopting Bubu. Please know that Bubu is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Meet Bubu: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Best Friend Bubu once had a home, but she was sadly abandoned simply because she grew "too big." Despite this heartbreak, Bubu remains a vibrant, confident, and well-mannered girl who holds no grudges—only love! Why you’ll fall in love with Bubu: Social Superstar: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and children. Household Manners: She is house-trained and prefers going outside, but she’s also smart enough to use pee pads indoors if needed. The Perfect Walking Partner: She walks beautifully on a leash, though she does get a little "puppy-excited" when she sees a bird or squirrel to chase! Quiet & Friendly: She rarely barks and currently lives peacefully in a foster home with six dogs and two cats. A few quirks: Bubu is a "free spirit" who doesn't like being confined by playpens or fences—she’s quite the jumper! Because of this, we focus on crate training instead. Occasionally, if left alone, she might find a pen or a small box on the table to chew on, so she’d love a home that provides plenty of toys. Bubu is ready to find a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. If you have room in your heart and home for this amazing girl, please contact us today!
