Story
Meet Lunin! This fella has had a rough go of it, and is hoping for a kind and patient home to offer him the security and stability that he's always craved!Lunin here is a fun, playful and active young boy! He loves his toys, stuffies especially, and won't pass up a good game of tug with his people. He would benefit greatly from lots of toy games, and mental enrichment and chances to build a strong bond with his people! This fella came from a home where food and attention wasn't always consistent, and had a unstable home environment. This has meant Lunin has become a bit of a resource guarder when it comes to food, and feels very insecure when he has it. He needs someone who can offer him a safe place where he knows he isn't going to go without, and help him feel that security he's gone without. He needs lots of love and positive reinforcement in his new home to help him become his very best self! While Lunin has lived with other dogs, he's never had the chance to be his own guy, and really needs this in a new home. He seems to get a bit frustrated with others, and with his guarding habits, will be best as the only pet in a home. His ideal home would be a dog savvy home with only adults, that is active and can meet his energy needs.Want to know more? Apply below! We are not set up for walk in viewing at Comox, but once we receive an application we will review, and contact approved applicants from there! Story
Meet Derick - an energetic goofball of fun, enthusiasm and a little chaos!✨This lively fella is bursting with personality and ready for a new adventure, but he's also got a lot of learning to do.📝 Derick gets very excited when he's around his favorite people (it's not hard to get on that list)! His excitement usually comes out in the form of jumping up and trying to give lots of kisses. 🐶Derick is a smart boy, but can be a little stubborn at times; so he'll need a patient, positive-minded owner who's excited to help him grow into the best dog he can be.Think of Derick as a puppy in a full-grown dog's body-full of zest, curiosity, and a whole lot of energy! He loves to stay busy and thrives on both mental and physical stimulation.🧩 Long walks, exciting playtime, puzzle toys, and training games that challenge his mind are perfect to help him burn off that excess energy and learn good habits.Derick is still figuring out his manners and can be quite jumpy and mouthy, so consistent training, gentle boundaries, and lots of praise will help him learn to settle and listen. With patience and love, he can become a confident, happy, and loyal companion who loves to learn new tricks and share adventures.🐕‍🦺⛰️If you're ready to take on a lively, fun-loving dog who's got a big personality and needs a bit of guidance along the way, Derick is your perfect match! Prepare for lots of love, laughter, and tail-wagging fun (and maybe some cheeky kisses)!🩵If you are interested in making Derick the newest member of your family, hit the link below to submit a pre-adoption questionnaire today!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 37.4 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

**About Bubu:** Thank you for interested in adopting Bubu. Please know that Bubu is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Meet Bubu: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Best Friend Bubu once had a home, but she was sadly abandoned simply because she grew "too big." Despite this heartbreak, Bubu remains a vibrant, confident, and well-mannered girl who holds no grudges—only love! Why you’ll fall in love with Bubu: Social Superstar: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and children. Household Manners: She is house-trained and prefers going outside, but she’s also smart enough to use pee pads indoors if needed. The Perfect Walking Partner: She walks beautifully on a leash, though she does get a little "puppy-excited" when she sees a bird or squirrel to chase! Quiet & Friendly: She rarely barks and currently lives peacefully in a foster home with six dogs and two cats. A few quirks: Bubu is a "free spirit" who doesn't like being confined by playpens or fences—she’s quite the jumper! Because of this, we focus on crate training instead. Occasionally, if left alone, she might find a pen or a small box on the table to chew on, so she’d love a home that provides plenty of toys. Bubu is ready to find a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. If you have room in your heart and home for this amazing girl, please contact us today!

Story
Meet Mekanani-meaning ‘beautiful eyes' in Hawaiian 🌺🌴. This sweet pup has entropion in both eyes, a condition that can easily be treated/fixed with the proper care. She has already seen an eye specialist and is well on her way to recovery. Mekanani is a five-month-old cattle dog mix currently weighing in at 16kg with a happy heart and endless enthusiasm for life. While initially shy to warm up to new people, this little lady turns it on shortly after and is all about playtime, zoomies, and making the most out of every day. Just learning to play with toys, if there's a ball involved, she's already interested. If there's room to run, she's already halfway there. She absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy or with people who have dog-loving friends she can romp around with. Mekanani's ideal day includes running, playing, learning new things, and then crashing for a well-earned nap. She is content being inside too, happily learning to play solo while her humans are nearby. For such a young pup, she's doing wonderfully with house training and with continued practice will get all the way there! She has made improvements with crate training as well, as she learns to trust this safe space when her humans are out of sight. This sweet pup is also great with kids, making her a fantastic addition for an active family. Mekanani is looking for a home ready to embrace puppy energy, lots of play, and plenty of laughs. In return, she promises fun, affection, and a lifetime of adventures. Apply to adopt today!

Story
Breed: Foxhound X Cattle Dog Age: 6 year Weight: 77 lbs Health Status: Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped Housing: Detached home, townhome or ground level apartment- no elevators Junior is a striking boy with soulful eyes that tell a story of resilience. Before coming to us, Junior lived in unpredictable situations, which taught him to be cautious around new people. While he may seem shy at first, beneath that uncertainty is a gentle spirit and a dog who craves connection and trust. Since joining us, Junior has begun to blossom. With structure, routine, and patient care, he is showing his affectionate side by checking in for comfort, seeking reassurance, and melting hearts with his sweetness. When given calm introductions, a little time to sniff, and some tasty treats, Junior warms up beautifully. Recently, he met someone new in this way and even went on his first walk with them. He did amazing and is ready to keep growing. What Junior Needs -Slow, gentle introductions to new people and places. -Positive reinforcement and predictable routines to help him feel safe. -A calm handler and a quiet retreat space, such as an open crate He would do best with adopters who understand under-socialized dogs and are committed to helping him build confidence. Junior truly wants to trust and just needs someone willing to guide him. Junior’s Ideal Home -Quiet, patient, and structured environment. -Best as the only dog, though he may do well with a calm, steady female dog. -No cats or children Why Junior? Story
Little Danny is a gentle, sensitive soul who needs a patient and understanding adopter. He can be fearful around new people-especially men-and may require multiple visits before he feels comfortable. Once he bonds, though, he becomes incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate.Danny is easily spooked, so his ideal home will need a secure 6-foot fenced yard to help keep him safe. He would also benefit greatly from working with an AnimalKind-approved trainer to build confidence and support his continued progress. If you're willing to go slow and let Danny set the pace, you'll be rewarded with a devoted companion who will love you wholeheartedly.
