Story
Ollie is a 4.5-year-old Border Collie x Blue Heeler with a big heart and an even bigger motor. He's incredibly sweet, people-loving, and eager to be part of whatever you're doing-especially if toys are involved. This boy is very high energy and thrives on activity. True to his working-dog roots, Ollie is happiest when his body and brain are both engaged. Fetch, tug, frisbee, puzzle toys-if it's a toy, Ollie is all in. His toy obsession makes him a blast to play with and a great candidate for ongoing training, sports, or an active lifestyle.Ollie would do best in a home that understands and appreciates high-energy herding breeds and can provide daily exercise, mental enrichment, and structured playtime. In return, he offers endless enthusiasm, affection, and loyalty. If you're looking for a fun, driven, and loving companion who's always ready to go, Ollie might just be your perfect match. Please put in an online application if you are interested in meeting Ollie as he is in foster at this time. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 21.7 Age: 4yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
I really need a home by 1 March, due to the situation of my current family. Hi everyone, I am the lovely Loba and here's some information about me: Breed: Australian Cattle/Greyhound mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: ~75 lbs Highlights: Friendly, loyal, amazingly sweet, smart My unique white and black coat turns heads wherever I go. I originally came from Mexico, and while my journey hasn't always been easy, I've got so much love to give to the right family. After my rescue I was abandoned again, but fortunately a kind person stepped up to help me. She however has to move out of her home soon and won't be able to take me with her, so now I am looking for a home yet again. People have observed that I'm smart, listen well and alwyas come when called! Having zero aggresion, I am a gentle giant who gets along well with cats, kids and other dogs. I live with 4 kitties and I like them just fine, but they don't like me much. You may call me Miss Congeniality! I love to meet new people and will bark until you introduce me to them. In general, I am a calm dog who is really chill at home  and loves to take a nap every now and then.  While I currently have access to a yard, I yearn to go on walks, as I haven't done that in a very long time. I need a home where I can get the love, attention, and care I deserve. I'm ready to be someone's loyal companion - I just need a chance. Because of my size, I'd do best with a family that has space for me to stretch my legs and an active lifestyle to keep me happy. My current person cares about me deeply, but can no longer provide the home I need due to circumstances beyond their control. They want to make sure I find the perfect match. If you're looking for a loving, well-behaved large dog who will be devoted to you, I might be your girl! I love to wander around, but I am really chill when at home. I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Not sure. (Lives with 4 cats fine, no video though.)Kids: Yes Fears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: No formal training. Please assist me in my transition as I learn how to please you.Leash skills: While I rarely go on leash, as I don't have the luxury of walks, I was good on leash during my recent trip to the groomers. I also have good recall.House trained: Yes, but please help me learn how and where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed and vaccinated. LAL will pay for a microchip at one of our vets. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2648747##

Story
**About Bubu:** Thank you for interested in adopting Bubu. Please know that Bubu is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Meet Bubu: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Best Friend Bubu once had a home, but she was sadly abandoned simply because she grew "too big." Despite this heartbreak, Bubu remains a vibrant, confident, and well-mannered girl who holds no grudges—only love! Why you’ll fall in love with Bubu: Social Superstar: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, cats, and children. Household Manners: She is house-trained and prefers going outside, but she’s also smart enough to use pee pads indoors if needed. The Perfect Walking Partner: She walks beautifully on a leash, though she does get a little "puppy-excited" when she sees a bird or squirrel to chase! Quiet & Friendly: She rarely barks and currently lives peacefully in a foster home with six dogs and two cats. A few quirks: Bubu is a "free spirit" who doesn't like being confined by playpens or fences—she’s quite the jumper! Because of this, we focus on crate training instead. Occasionally, if left alone, she might find a pen or a small box on the table to chew on, so she’d love a home that provides plenty of toys. Bubu is ready to find a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. If you have room in your heart and home for this amazing girl, please contact us today!

Story
Meet Mekanani-meaning ‘beautiful eyes' in Hawaiian 🌺🌴. This sweet pup has entropion in both eyes, a condition that can easily be treated/fixed with the proper care. She has already seen an eye specialist and is well on her way to recovery. Mekanani is a six/seven-month-old cattle dog mix currently weighing in at 17kg with the sweetest heart and endless enthusiasm for life. While initially shy to warm up to new people and places, this little lady turns it on shortly after and is all about playtime, zoomies, and making the most out of every day. If there's a ball involved, she's already interested. If there's room to run, she's halfway there. While we think this cutie is a cattle dog mix, her energy level is medium making her definitely mixed with a more mellow breed. While she's happy to play and romp around, she's just as content inside lounging about. She absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy or with people who have dog-loving friends she can romp around with. Mekanani's ideal day includes running, playing, learning new things, and then crashing for a well-earned nap. She is content chilling inside too, happily learning to play solo while her humans are nearby. For such a young pup, she's mastered house training already! She'll happily sleep all night in her crate, and is learning to trust this safe space during the day when her humans are out of sight. This sweet pup is also great with kids, making her a fantastic addition for an active family. Mekanani is looking for a home ready to embrace the sweetest girl, lots of play, and plenty of laughs. In return, she promises fun, affection, and a lifetime of adventures. Apply to adopt today!

Story
Meet Junior Junior is a handsome, medium-sized mixed breed with soulful eyes and a quiet charm. At around six years old, he's a dog who has learned to be cautious after living in unpredictable situations. This means he can be shy with new people, but don't let that fool you. Underneath his reserved exterior is a gentle, affectionate dog who truly wants to connect. Since arriving at our shelter, Junior has made great progress. With routine, patience, and positive reinforcement, he's showing his sweet side-checking in for comfort, leaning in for reassurance, and enjoying calm walks. When given slow introductions, time to sniff, and a few tasty treats, Junior warms up beautifully. Junior has been meeting new people, going on walks with volunteers, and is doing amazing! Training & Support Junior will need adopters who understand under-socialized dogs and are committed to helping him build confidence. He thrives with: -Predictable routines and gentle handling -Positive, reward-based training -A quiet retreat space, like an open crate Ideal Home Junior would do best in: -A calm, structured environment -A home without cats or children -Ideally the only dog, though he may do well with a calm female dog -Detached home, townhome, or ground-level apartment (no elevators) Why Junior? Junior is looking for someone who believes in gentle, positive change and wants to make a meaningful difference in a dog’s life. With patience and love, this brave boy will blossom into a loyal companion. Story
Max is a charming 7-year-old mix with the best of three breeds and a personality that's full of heart. Known for his adorable "wiggle butt," Max doesn't just wag his tail-he wags his whole body when he's happy (which is often when he sees his favorite people). He's deeply affectionate and thrives on human connection. Max can have some anxiety when left alone, so he'd do best in a home where someone is around more often, or where he can be supported with structure and reassurance.Max needs to be the only dog in the household, as he prefers to have all the love and attention to himself. That said, he's shown a sweet curiosity and gentle affection toward kittens, which might make him a good fit for a home with feline friends (with proper introductions, of course).Max is looking for a dedicated, dog-savvy adopter who understands that behind his big feelings is a big-hearted, loyal companion just waiting for the right person to love. Please submit an application through the link below for Mr. Max!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Red Brown Weight: 27 Age: 7yrs 4mths 3wks
