Story
Donovan is a sweet dog, but he is also an anxious and reactive dog. He is affectionate and very much enjoys cuddling on the couch. He is a much better walker than when I got him, but he is still very reactive to other dogs that we come across. He does not get along with other dogs in the home either, which is the main reason that need to find him another home. But also, this space (a townhouse with a small patio) just isn't working for Donovan any longer. It's a much busier area and we are constantly running into other dogs. He would do really well with a little more space and a yard to exercise and play in. Donovan is 100% potty trained and his inside manners are terrific; he's a perfect little gentleman in the house. But, he would need to be the only pet in the house, which is why he needs a new home.

Story
Age:11 monthsWeight: 48.8Dogs? Yes please! I've lived with dogs before.Cats? Possibly, no history with cats.Kids? I'd prefer older, dog friendly kids!About Me: I'm shy but I'm very sweet! I love being the little spoon on the couch, running in really fast circles, and I'll even smile for you every time I go outside! It can take a moment for me to warm up to new people so don't be surprised if I'm a little aloof when we first meet but give me a couple treats and we'll be fast friends! Swing by and say hello, I'm sure we'll get along great. If interested in adopting me, please make sure to fill out an application prior to calling the office. https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/ Please note most of our animals are in foster homes and appointments are required for meeting adoptable animals. This animal may have one or two breeds listed on its profile based on its physical characteristics, however our staff is never certain. The majority of animals that come through our shelter are mixed breed and have not had a breed test done.

Story
Jorah is a wonderful dog, and we love him very much! We rescued him as a young puppy, and he has been a part of our family for the last five years. Two years ago, our daughter was born, and Jorah has never adjusted to her. He will not let her touch him (he is often skittish around new people.) He has never snapped at her, but will occasionally growl as he runs away when she chases him around the house. He is very good about asking to go outside to avoid her, but we just don't feel comfortable continuing to put him and ourselves through that. We have held out this long because we hoped he would get over it, but he has not. Jorah is fairly well trained in the basics, he will sit, come, stay, lay down, shake hands and will put his nose to a "target," which is a closed fist. He will hike well off leash, and will do a good job of coming back when called or keeping up with you. He enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war and loves walks and hiking.
