Story
Millie gives the energy of a fox. She is bonded to her brother, Duke, and they need to be adopted together. I adopted them both when they were 8 weeks old. They and their litter were found on a reservation in New Mexico. Both dogs have always been timid, skittish, and relatively serious. They enjoy going to doggy daycare and the giant off leash dog park to run. We recently found out that they have strong prey drives when they attacked our pet bird. We moved to a condo and they have been stressed by not having a yard. Millie is good on a leash and enjoys being outside when the weather is nice. Being a cattle dog mix, she needs someone who is willing to train her and give her a job. She is a picky eater.

Story
Duke is a highly sensitive pup. He is bonded with his sister, Millie, and they need to be adopted together. He is 5 years old and I have had him and his sister since they were 8 weeks old. They were initially found with their litter on a reservation in New Mexico. They both have always been timid, skittish, and relatively serious dogs. They have grown up around children but I have always kept a close eye on them because they clearly like their space. They have spent time at doggy daycares and love the giant off leash dog parks to run. I recently moved into a condo and it has been stressful for them to not have a yard. Duke's anxiety and reactivity has increased to more than I am able to have. He is leash reactive and has a strong prey drive (which we recently learned about when he attacked our pet bird). As a cattle dog mix, Duke needs someone who can train him and give him a job. He loves praise and chicken treats.

Story
Meet Mel — a sunshine-colored spark plug with a heart full of love and paws full of zoomies! This adorable 3–4 month old, heeler mix is equal parts brains, beauty, and bounce. Mel is crazy smart and already crushing home manners and crate training like the little superstar she is. She’s always ready for adventure, whether that means chasing toys, collecting tennis balls, or racing around the yard at top speed with her signature puppy joy. But don’t let the playful energy fool you — once the fun is done, Mel is all about the snuggles. She loves cuddling up and soaking in affection from her favorite people. She’s dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and ready to be everyone’s new best friend. If your home needs more laughter, love, and a whole lot of personality, Mel is ready to bring the pop! 💥🐾 Mel is in foster in Colorado Springs, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mel You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Hello, I'm Sammy... and I'll admit, the shelter has me quite overwhelmed. It's loud, busy, and I'm still trying to figure it all out. But underneath all that nervousness? I'm really an amazing girl, I promise. Once I'm out of this environment and given a chance to breath, I really shine. I love my people, I love treats, and I really love giving kisses - they're kinda my specialty. Sometimes when I'm unsure about things or making sure you're only gentle hands, I will do appeasement behaviors - like a little smile - to show I mean well. I need someone who is going to be patient with me and understand I'm trying my best. I'd love someone who knows how to ready body language to help me thrive to the best of my abilities. I just need someone to take a chance and believe in me. We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries!
