Story
Hi my name is Suki. I am around 3 years old and I am a Heeler mix. I came to Almost Home because I need a home with no young kids and no other pets. My favorite thing to do is go hiking and I LOVE water. I would make someone a great kayaking buddy. I have a lot of energy that I need to burn off daily. I am current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped

Story
Do you like cuddling? Going for solitary household walks in nature? Being active for about twenty minutes of robust playtime around 4:00 in the afternoon? Summer is a calm snoozy dog throughout the day. If you work from home, she’ll most likely choose to sleep nearby. She loves a walk and sniff, and a good romp and play for a little each day. She’ll chase a stuffed toy, attempt to catch a snowball, and do excited zoomies in the yard if you give a toy a toss. But her real love is a good cuddle, so set yourself up with a blanket on your lap with a spot just for her and she’ll curl right in like a muffin, and give you reproachful looks when you dare to stop the pets. Summer needs an adults only, no other tankless pets home. She is dog reactive, and reactive with strangers in her home. Her current home has a 1 year old ever increasingly mobile baby, it is no longer a safe place for either of them. Contact us for more info. (715-817-6896) We want the best for her.

Story
Riff is a 3-year-old Blue Heeler mix with loads of personality and energy. He’s affectionate, people-friendly, and highly active — the kind of dog who thrives with purpose, exercise, and consistent leadership. He’s been an indoor companion who also shows strong potential as a working/farm dog. He’s still learning manners (jumps, some chewing) and needs patient, consistent training and a household that can match his activity level. Ideal home • Active adults or a family experienced with herding/working breeds. • A home with a securely fenced yard or farm property where Riff can have tasks or play; suitable for someone who can provide daily structured exercise (long walks, runs, herding tasks, agility, or job-like activities). • No small dog-only households unless adopter is experienced with dog-dog introductions and supervision. • A home willing to supervise cat interactions and continue the trusted, gradual approach. • Riff is untrained but eager; positive reinforcement and clear, consistent boundaries will help quickly. • Dog-reactivity: avoid off-leash dog park socializing until an adopter works with a trainer; use controlled, desensitization-based introductions if needed. • Loves water/adventure: kayaking and car trips are clear wins.

Story
Meet Kamila! This sweet girl is around 2 years old and came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. She is said to be an Aussie/Bichon mix. She is great with other dogs and is said to be good with cats and kids. She has been a little scared here at the shelter, but is starting to come out of her shell. She just recently got a haircut and looks like a whole new dog. She is current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped. She will be spayed on December 9th and ready to go home after!
