Story
Addie is 9 months old and around 40lbs. She is a very energetic tiny tank. She is very dense and doesn’t realize her strength when playing. We affectionately call her Muffin, as she is very much like the character on the show Bluey. She loves to cause a little chaos but can also be very affectionate and loves to snuggle on the couch with Mom. The last month and a half she has developed some issues with resource guarding. She began with just new toys but we thought we got that under control. It had then shifted to mildly guarding me from my husband and defending her crate after she goes in. We love her very much and did look into training but are unable to afford the programs we were offered. Addie would thrive with an experienced owner who can love her as much as we have these last 6 months. She definitely needs someone with a large yard as she needs more space to run than our apartment allows(and maybe some cattle to herd). She has so much potential to be a wonderful companion.

Story
Bambi is a sweet mixed-breed girl with a soft heart and a gentle soul. Petite for a medium-sized dog, she’s a little on the thin side right now, but full of love and affection. Bambi gets along well with other dogs and even does well with cats, making her a wonderful candidate for a multi-pet home.Because she’s sensitive to loud, chaotic environments, Bambi is looking for a calmer home with older children who understand how to be gentle and respectful. New or noisy situations can make her a bit skittish, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines. On leash, she’s polite and easygoing, and she would do best with a fenced yard where she can feel secure. Bambi is a true cuddler who wants nothing more than to be close to her person. She’s also delightfully expressive — she can be a little vocal when she has something to say and will happily jump and twirl when she’s excited.Bambi is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and loves wholeheartedly. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just needs a peaceful place to land, Bambi may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Luca Luca and Mike are our Tennessee 'brothers'! Luca is the one year old black and white cattle mix while Mike is our one year old brown and sandy hound mix! While not actually brothers (at least we don't think), they've grown up together and really are attached at the hip. Luca is the shyer, more apprehensive one out of the two. At least at first, because with some baby talk and treats, he comes around pretty quickly and turns into the biggest cuddle bug ever! Mike is the more outgoing, curious one of the two and is quick to greet new people. Both of them have made lots of friends with other dogs at the shelter but really are just the best of playmates together. They'll try to steal each other's toys when the other isn't looking, which always leads to a game of tug of war - and of course they love to just chase and throw them! It's always entertaining to watch! Luca is a bit more shy with the big scary would but when he's with his bestie Mike, he feels confident enough to go out and explore. These boys are always ready to take on adventure together and love to go on the hunt for all the best smells around! So if you're looking for an active duo that would make fantastic companion dogs, Mike and Luca are the duo for you! Mike and Luca spent the weekend in a foster and here's what they had to say: "Mike and Luca were a great addition to our family for the weekend! Both boys got along great with our four dogs and quickly became best friends with our more active two. Despite the colder weather, the boys weren't phased at all and loved romping and playing around in the backyard. We put their large kennel in our bedroom and left the door open so the boys cuddled up together and slept through the entire night! Mike was very attached to me while Luca followed my wife around more but the two were always checking in with each other or seeing what the other got up to. We've had many foster dogs over the years and if we didn't already have four of our own, they wouldn't have been coming back because they were that incredible! We hope they find their furever home soon!" If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
