Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet This Sweet Litter of Puppies   These puppies were rescued from an overcrowded shelter that didn’t have the resources to care for them. They arrived without their mother and needed a safe place to land — and now they’re thriving in foster care.   Each puppy is confident, playful, and incredibly loving. They are healthy both physically and emotionally, showing trust, curiosity, and joy as they grow. Their energy level is moderate — they enjoy playtime but are not overly hyper — making them a wonderful fit for many different homes and lifestyles.   We expect them to be medium to possibly large dogs when full grown, though their size and breed mix are our best guess since we don’t know who mom or dad were. What we do know is that these pups are affectionate, people-oriented, and will make devoted companions for their future families.   If this picture caught your eye and made you stop to look a little closer, we’d love to hear from you. We’re always trying to find thoughtful ways to help our puppies stand out among the many others waiting for homes.   Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. She’s not the kind of dog most people would call “fancy,” and she doesn’t need to be. Her beauty lives deeper — in her eyes, in her steady presence, and in the gentle joy that radiates from her heart. If you pause for just a moment and truly look at her, you’ll see it — the quiet grace of a soul that’s pure, loyal, and endlessly loving. Haumea stays right by your side, as if she’s always known that companionship is life’s greatest gift. Her heart is joy in its most honest form. She gives it freely and asks for nothing more than a place to belong. Whoever looks past the surface and chooses this beautiful girl will gain more than a dog — they’ll gain comfort, laughter, and a love so constant it will change their days forever. Adopting Haumea won’t just be a good decision. It will be the best one you ever make.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 9, 2025, 1:23 am

Story
From the moment he entered foster care, Doogie showed how seamlessly he could settle into a new environment. He immediately began playing with his foster sibling, a 40-lb high-energy dog, and the two quickly became fast friends. Doogie enjoys wrestling and romping with dogs of all sizes, from Yorkies to Great Danes. His play style is enthusiastic and fun, and while he sometimes takes a few moments to realize when another dog is ready to stop, he generally picks up on cues and is respectful. Because he loves to play hard, he may not be the best match for senior dogs, but he would thrive with a playful companion who can match his energy. Doogie hasn’t lived with children or cats in foster care, but he happily greeted children (ages 6–8) at the shelter and seemed excited to meet them. He is affectionate and fun-loving, though still polishing his manners — he sometimes jumps up or nibbles gently for attention. With patience and consistency, he’ll continue to learn that there are calmer ways to ask for love. On leash, Doogie is an easygoing walking buddy who doesn’t pull and enjoys exploring at his own pace, sometimes trotting happily beside or just ahead of his handler. He’s still polishing up his leash manners, but he’s cooperative and eager to please. Doogie is perfectly content left loose in the home with his foster sibling, keeping himself busy with plush toys and chews until it’s time to play again. As he adjusts, he may need to be crated when unsupervised — he has been known to sneak a “treasure” like the TV remote into his bed if left to his own devices. He takes treats gently, shares toys nicely, and has shown no issues around food. Playful, affectionate, and social, Doogie has an adaptable energy level. He can settle into a calmer environment with the right enrichment or thrive in an active household with adventures and daycare. He loves to cuddle, stays close to his foster, and often sleeps by their side at night. While he may bark at new visitors at first, he warms up quickly as he gains confidence. Doogie also rides nicely in the car and navigates stairs with ease. Doogie’s ideal home would be one where he has companionship — whether human or canine — and plenty of love. While another dog isn’t required, he is happiest with a playmate to romp with. Easygoing, joyful, and eager for affection, Doogie will make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a smaller dog with a big personality.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Macy’s Marvelous Four — Pure Joy and Puppy Charm These four little ones are growing up wrapped in the kind of love every puppy deserves. Their mama, Macy, is a small to medium girl (30 lbs at most), and she is one of the sweetest, quietest, most gentle souls you’ll ever meet. She dotes on her babies with her whole heart — calm, patient, tidy as can be — and her nurturing spirit shows in her puppies. Because they’ve grown up with Macy’s steady love and their favorite two-legged jungle gym (that’s you ), these pups are incredibly socialized, confident, and happy. They’ve never known fear, only safety. They trust people, adore affection, and are learning that life is a wonderful adventure. Full-grown size will depend on who daddy was, but they may end up close to Macy’s size. What we can guarantee is this:   They’ll be loving. They’ll be joyful. They’ll be wonderful family companions. These babies will fit beautifully into almost any home — playful, affectionate, eager to bond, and ready to become someone’s heart for life. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them.
