Story
Location: Pembroke, MA   *Disclaimer puppies are currently ONLY 6 weeks old and will not be going to new homes until they are at LEAST 8 weeks old* These puppies have had quite the journey at just 6 weeks old. Mom Penelope was found as a stray in Alabama. She was found hanging around a Dollar General heavily pregnant. Before we could get her into the rescue she went MIA and we all thought the worst until she turned up a few days later no longer pregnant. She had tucked herself under the crawl space of an abandoned home and gave birth to four beautiful puppies three girls and one boy. Thankfully this story has a happy ending, and hopefully you can make it even happier by opening your home to one of these beautiful pups!  Say hello to Penelope’s puppies! There are four of them - Ruby (f, black/ white/ tan with the white around her mouth), Isla (f, black/ white/ tan no white around mouth), Sadie (f, the fluffiest and biggest merle), Hayes (m, the gray merle with the blue eye). While we do not currently know what they are mixed with, we will find out soon as an embark DNA test was performed we will update once we have the results. What we do know is mom is a cattle dog and dad was something big! At five weeks the biggest of the litter was already over 12lbs.    Isla is the “smallest” of the litter. At 5 weeks old she weighed in at just over 10lbs. She is the timidest out of the litter and has been pushed around a bit by her siblings. We are working with her on her confidence. She loves to explore the world. Tug on toys, chase balls, climb surfaces, and always come back to people for cuddles. She is working on her stair climbing skills, and we are starting crate and potty training. She has been exposed to children, other dogs, and cats. She would benefit form someone who has time to put in training and building her confidence.    By the time of adoption, they will have been dewormed three times, received their first round of vaccinations, and been microchipped. They will go out on a spay/neuter contract. We do not know for sure when they were born so we are going by when they were found as their birthday which was December 12th. and will be 8 weeks old and available to go to their new homes the week of February 9th.      Any questions you can reach my foster mom at taryn.acdrafoster@yahoo.com If interested in adopting me or any of my siblings please complete an application at https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application  January 24, 2026, 7:27 pm

At 5 weeks old she weighed in at just over 12lbs. Out of the litter she falls in the middle. She is confident, and kinda goofy. She is one of the first ones to come up and greet you and also the first one to venture off and entertain herself. Sadie is the most vocal out of the litter. Sadie is pretty chill, she would do well in a moderately / relaxed energy home. As a puppy she loves to play but she is also the first one to go off and lay down and relax.  She loves to explore the world. Tug on toys, chase balls, climb surfaces, and always come back to people for cuddles. She is working on her stair climbing skills, and we are starting crate and potty training. She is always the first one to explore new spaces with confidence. She has never met a stranger or shoes she doesn’t like. Ruby will steal your heart. She is confident, spicy, and in true puppy fashion will play until she can’t play anymore! Ruby is going to make someone a fantastic partner, she would benefit from a family with an active lifestyle. He is one of the first ones to come up and greet you and also wants to know what you are doing always. Hayes loves to be with people and will follow you the ends of the earth. He is a chill dude who loves to take it all in.  He is a favorite of everyone who meets him with his striking blue eye. He loves attention and shoes…. particularly when you are wearing them. This boy is a stunner, but don’t let his looks fool he also has a great mind. Hayes is going to be more of a “Velcro” type dog so if you value your personal space Hayes is probably not the dog for you. He would do well in a home where he has regular outings to stretch his legs. He has moderate energy and once he gets his energy out loves to cuddle. He loves to explore the world. Tug on toys, chase balls, climb surfaces, and always come back to people for cuddles. He is working on his stair climbing skills, and we are starting crate and potty training. Story
Location: Bangor, ME Tinsel:   Tinsel is an approximately 5 month old, 12 pound cattle dog mix. She came in to the shelter with mom (cattle dog) and siblings but she was the only one of the bunch with this fabulous coat. She’s a sweet and shy puppy but enjoys being near and will likely bond very closely to her person given time and love. Shes looking for a quiet home with patient people and pets to help her grow into her best self. She’s crate trained and appears to be well on the way to being fully housebroken. She is learning to walk on leash. Tinsel is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives and will be adopted with a spay contract. For more information about Tinsel please email her foster mom at thosedingodogs@gmail.com or fill out an application today.   Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application January 23, 2026, 7:44 pm
