Location: Ashland, Ohio   Kane is a happy, energetic, affectionate 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog back in foster care, hoping to find his people. Kane was recently adopted, but it wasn’t the right fit. He became anxious around the adopter’s newborn nephew; no aggression, just overwhelmed. As a young cattle dog with a big, all-in personality, his enthusiasm doesn’t mix well with babies. Kane is housebroken, crate-trained, vaccinated, and microchipped. He enjoys people and does well with kids. He is dog-selective, preferring neutral personalities. Kane is playful, affectionate, and very excited to see his humans; sometimes too excited, so he’s working on jumping when happy. He knows basic skills, a few tricks, and has excellent recall. Kane thrives with structure, clear expectations, and positive guidance. Kane needs a home willing to go slow with new experiences. Patience, consistency, and careful introductions will help him feel safe and confident. From that point forward, he’s very loyal and loving. Meet Abigail—affectionately known as Abby! Abby is believed to be a Heeler Pit mix and weighs just under 50 lbs, making her a wonderful medium-sized companion. She has a mostly white coat with striking black splotches on her face that highlight her sweet expression. Abby can be shy around new people at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her true personality shines. She becomes an affectionate, playful dog who loves calm pets, cuddles, and quality time with her people. She walks comfortably on a leash and would thrive in a home with a yard where she can run, explore, and burn off some energy. As a Heeler mix, Abby will do best in a home that can provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. Regular walks, training sessions, and puzzle toys will help keep her happy, confident, and engaged. At this time, Abby needs to be the only dog in the home, though she will be retested with other dogs in the coming weeks as she continues to settle in. Location: Sunbury, Ohio Howdy y’all, I’m Cowboy! That’s right, Cowboy—the name says it all. I’m a rootin’-tootin’ ball-chasin’, tail-waggin’ good boy lookin’ for my forever home. I'm ‘round 5 years young, weigh in at a sturdy 60 pounds of pure energy, and I come ready for the trail—neutered, up to date on them vaccines, and even got one of them fancy microchips so I don’t go gettin’ lost. I’m housebroken, crate trained, and smart as a whip. I live for the thrill of the chase—ball that is. You throw it, I’ll bring it back, and we’ll keep doin’ that ‘til the cows come home. Got an empty backyard and a strong throwin’ arm? Well partner, we just might be soulmates. Lookin’ for an agility buddy? Saddle me up! I thrive when I’ve got a job to do or a toy to chase. Now here’s the thing—while I do just fine with other pups in a pack, when it comes to settlin’ into a home, I’d much rather have all the toys, treats, and attention to myself. I’m not well-suited for a home with kiddos either—I like my space when I’m chewin’ bones or enjoyin’ my treasures, and I’d do best with grown-ups who understand my breed and respect my boundaries. Cats and other small critters? Can’t say one way or the other—I haven’t had the pleasure.   Location: Acworth, NH   Meet Oreo Cookie!   She is just as sweet as her name suggests! Miss Oreo hails from Georgia, but she is having a great time playing in the snow at her foster home in NH. She may have had a rough start in life, but you would never know it judging by her happy-go-lucky attitude. Miss OC is 100% goofy, loving and playful… and just look at those ears!   Oreo is probably 1-2 years young. Her favorite pastimes include being loved on, eating treats, chasing kitties, and playing with kids and other dogs. Oreo absolutely adores children and would make a great playmate for any rough and tumble family. She knows how to “sit” and walks on a leash, but can sometimes pull a bit. She enjoys toys and will chase a ball and then have a great time playing “keep away” with you.  Oreo loves toys. She also goes for outdoor walks and will run on the trail and stay around her people off leash.   This ACD mix would make a wonderful companion for a moderate energy, cat-free home. She is a bit of a goofball as well as on the larger side at about 50lbs, so young ones should be dog savvy to avoid being knocked around. Oreo is spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and is fully potty trained. She is currently living in south central NH, and her adopter should plan to meet her there.    Looking for more info?
