Story
Sammy is one of Shelby's 6 puppies. The little family was rescued from BARC in Houston on Feb 13, 2024. Soon after leaving the shelter, they came down with distemper, which was no fun! Luckily they're living with a wonderful foster who took great care of them and nursed them through it, and everyone is now robust and healthy. These puppies are just as bouncy and playful as you'd expect a puppy to be, and don't display any negative effects of their earlier illness, which was a pretty mild case.Sammy is an easy-going, chill little dude. He's happy to roll around in the grass or run after a ball or sit in your lap for a snuggle. Being still with his family, Sam is eager to break away and discover himself and all the things about him that make him special and unique, but in order to do that, he needs the companionship and guidance of a loving human! These bright and affectionate puppies are growing up fast! Born in early January, they're old enough now to join the big world out there. They really need and deserve their own homes. If you're interested in fostering or adopting this affectionate, happy little puppy, please complete an application right away! Story
Sally is the runt of Shelby's puppies, who along with their mom were rescued from BARC in Houston on Feb 13, 2024. In spite of being picked on by her siblings, she is bubbly, happy puppy who is not afraid of people and enjoys playing. Sally's so cute, she loves carrying toys around in her mouth and doesn't put them down even when she wants to bark, it's really funny! This beautiful little girl is not only adorable on the outside, but also has a heart of gold. Don't miss out on the opportunity to bring this special puppy into your loving home. Story
This sweet puppy is Shirley, another one of Shelby's litter, rescued from BARC in Houston on Feb 13, 2024. Along with the rest of her siblings, little Shirley's had a rough start, landing in the shelter at only about one month old, and subsequently catching distemper as a result. Luckily it was a mild case for the wee pups, and with lots of support from a dedicated foster mom, they all pulled through and have been nursed back to good health. You wouldn't know they've had so many struggles; they're a cheerful, friendly, playful bunch, each growing into their own unique and special characters. Now they're ready to be separated and join their own loving families, where they'll continue learning the skills they need to be the most excellent domestic companions. Shirley has a beautiful blue eye that sparkles in the sunlight. She LOVES her toys, and is hoping to join a household with kids and/or another friendly doggy who will want to play play play. She will eventually get tired, and then will look for a lap to curl up in for sleepy snuggles. She's still very young and still living with her siblings, so Shirley has a lot of learning to do, and boy is she ever ready! FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Bluefin into the Fetch + Releash family on April 28th (subject to change). In order for Bluefin to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bluefin / Male / 3 years old / 60 pounds / Australian Cattle Dog / from Tennessee Meet Bluefin, this shy but spunky boy is seeking a patient and caring home to show him the good life! Bluefin was found as a stray. Although we don’t know his past, he is more timid around strangers but is eager for affection once he’s learned he can trust you. Bluefin is independent, yet enjoys playtime with dogs of similar temperament and would benefit from a confident resident dog to show him the world isn't scary. With an unknown past, he requires work on training, from the basics and beyond. He's treat-motivated, making positive progress through training achievable. Bluefin prefers a leash-free space, so a home with a yard is ideal, and a harness can aid in positive leash associations. We are not aware if Bluefin has house or crate exposure, but he finds comfort in his safe space like his dog house and would benefit from a special crate/dog bed he can resort to for space. To help him thrive, Bluefin needs an experienced family in a calm and quiet environment that can offer him patience to build his confidence. He will require time to decompress and his family should respect his need for space aa he adjusts. He is best suited for a home with older or no kids. Don't miss his unique quirk – his tail wags up and down, adding to his irresistible charm. If you're ready to provide a loving home, Bluefin is ready to steal your heart with his sweet personality and charming tail wags. Bluefin tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a common tick-borne disease that stays in the bloodstream for many years. This has been treated and, moving forward, regular yearly bloodwork would be recommended. Although this should not cause any issues moving forward, it's important that if Bluefin requires surgery or dental work in the future, pre-operative blood work (CBC+Platelet count) should be completed beforehand. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Bluefin’s adoption fee is $850. Despite facing some tough times, this sweet pup is ready to embrace a brighter future with a loving family. Jessie's journey began when she was surrendered by a caring older gentleman, who, unfortunately, could no longer provide the care she deserved. Alongside three other furry friends, Jessie found herself in a small, unkempt pen, longing for the comfort and companionship she craved. Despite the challenges she's faced, Jessie's spirit remains unbroken. Living in such conditions has left Jessie a bit shy and withdrawn. She may initially seem reserved, but underneath her timid exterior lies a world of love waiting to be discovered. Jessie finds solace in the company of other canines and would make a great second dog. She has a truly lively spirit with a zest for life that would make her an amazing adventure buddy. While Jessie is unfamiliar with the concept of leash walking she would benefit from a home with a yard while working on desensitizing her. She may freeze up at first, but with patience and understanding, she'll soon find her stride. Jessie has never had the joy of living indoors so she will also need consistency with potty training. Her new family should be committed to working with her through all basic training and general obedience. With the right environment and a patient hand, Jessie is destined to blossom into the confident and loving companion she was always meant to be. Jessie currently lives alongside another dog; having a confident canine companion in her new home will help show her that her new world isn't so scary. She has not been tested with kids or cats and we feel that a calmer environment will allow her true colours to shine through much sooner. With a little time, patience, and a whole lot of love, Jessie promises to be the loyal companion you've been dreaming of. As a condition of her adoption, Jessie is required to wear a Tractive brand GPS collar. The cost of the device and subscription will be the responsibility of her adoptive family. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Jessie's adoption fee is $850.
