Story
Meet Bandit!Bandit is the sweetest mixed-breed boy who has been patiently waiting his whole life for his big break, and now it’s finally his turn. As the last of his litter, he grew up in the shelter watching his siblings get adopted one by one, yet he’s remained a happy, affectionate, and playful pup with so much love to give. Bandit is dog-friendly, loves exploring new places, enjoys an active lifestyle, and is especially known for giving the most enthusiastic hugs. He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but that can be arranged, and due to his size and energy level, he would do best in a home with older kids who can keep up with his fun-loving nature. Treats are truly the way to his heart—one snack and a smile and you’ll have a loyal friend for life. Bandit is more than ready to leave shelter life behind and finally experience the warmth and security of a real family, and after being overlooked for far too long, he’s hoping you might be the one to change his story. To make an appointment to meet Bandit, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call. Story
Meet Hunter!Hunter is a cattle dog with a bright, friendly personality and an abundance of energy that keeps him always on the move. He loves staying active and would thrive in a home that can provide plenty of exercise, structure, and mental stimulation to keep him happy and fulfilled. True to his breed instincts, Hunter does chase livestock, so he should be the only pet in the household and would do best in a home without farm animals. For the right active adopter, Hunter will be a loyal, fun-loving companion who brings enthusiasm, intelligence, and devotion to everyday life.To make an appointment to meet Hunter, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call. Story
This is Copper! He is my best pal, he joined our family when we had just two kids and has been with us to welcome three more since then. He’s been with us for three moves, our most recent from Colorado to Texas. We’ve had him for 7 years- since he was a 10 week old puppy. He’s an incredibly loyal, loving, happy, goofy, sweet boy. Unfortunately, in the last few months he has become incredibly anxious to the point that he gets worked up just when he hears our kids laughing. Because of this, I would not feel comfortable rehiring him to someone with little kids. He’d be best in a calm, stable environment with someone who is home often (I’ve been a stay at home mom all this time), can walk him and play fetch, who is looking for an adventure buddy! Older, calm kids would be okay. We’re looking for someone who has experience with cattle dogs as they are full of special quirks 😜. He’s a really good dog, just needs a different environment to thrive in.

Story
🎉 Meet Sam – the smiling, tail-wagging social butterfly! 🦖🐾 Sam is a handsome blue speckled heeler mix with a personality that fills the whole yard (and then some). This guy truly never meets a stranger—people, dogs, cats, kids, farm animals… Sam’s already friends with all of them and is shocked you haven’t realized it yet. Originally, Sam was known to roam a bit, but he always chose kindness and comfort—often setting up camp on our back porch for a couple days at a time like, “Yep, this seems like a good place to be loved.” Now he’s ready to make that arrangement permanent in a forever home. Sam is obsessed with attention in the best way. Say his name, talk to him, look in his general direction—and BOOM 💥—his legendary Dino tail goes into full helicopter mode. He also has the most endearing habit of smiling at you, proudly flashing his pearly whites when he’s happy (which is basically always). He knows his name well, so changing it would honestly feel illegal. Brains? ✔️ Charm? ✔️✔️ Manners? ✔️✔️✔️ Sam is smart, thoughtful, and a big thinker. He knows his basic commands, is food motivated, learns quickly, and genuinely wants to do the right thing. He’s confident and independent but still affectionate, playful, and happy to hang with his people. He’s great in the car and has an all-around gold-star temperament. Because of his heeler roots, Sam will need space to stretch those legs and a secure fenced yard—he’s adventurous and athletic, but once his energy is out, he’s perfectly content being your happy shadow. Sam is AMAZING with: Large and small dogs (male & female) Cats Farm animals Small children, big kids, and elderly humans Sam in a nutshell: Adventurous • Affectionate • Athletic • Calm/Gentle • Clever • Confident • Friendly • Obedient • Playful • Smart & learns quickly If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky, smiley, tail-wagging best friend who brings good vibes everywhere he goes—Sam is ready to move in and steal your heart. 💙🐾

Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 2/18/18, and pictures updated 5/10/20.  DEAF MALE RED HEELER PUPPY FOUND ON 1/19/18 IN TYLER, TX. A neighbor brought this little puppy to me on Friday, 1/19/18, at around 5:00 p.m., and said the puppy was traveling the road with an adult male dog that looked similar to the puppy, but the puppy came to him in his yard while the other dog kept going. I put some food down for him, and he ate like he was starving. I gave him the name Brody. On Saturday, 1/20/18, I noticed that he did not stir while sleeping no matter what the noise was. I was able to get him in to the Gresham Veterinary Hospital on Tuesday, 1/23/18, to get vaccinated, and check his inner ears since he can bark. We had a Yellow Lab years ago that was born deaf, and made noises instead of barking. The puppie's ears looked good, he weighed 10.6 pounds, and was estimated to be 10 weeks old, so date of birth is around November 14, 2017.  Brody was neutered on 2/17/18, weighed 21.6 pounds, and still growing.  As of 5/10/20, he is 93 pounds. Brody is very playful, does not like to be by himself, and will be vocal about it.  He requires a fenced yard, and another dog that can hear to guide him and play with him.  Vehicles should not be moved around him without knowing where he is, and he is not an apartment dog.  I am working on house training him, and he is doing good.  He is crate trained, and likes sleeping on a dog bed in his crate.  His fur is very soft, and he loves attention from people. Adoption fee is $80, which includes his neuter and vaccinations. November 6, 2024, 12:13 am
