Story
Howlywood Undead was brought in as a stray and was never reclaimed. He is a friendly, rambunctious boy who absolutely loves people and thrives on attention. He has a big personality and isn’t shy about using his voice—especially when left alone—so apartment living would likely not be the best fit for him. Howlywood is great with kids, strangers, and cats, but he is not good with other dogs or livestock, so a home where he can be the only dog is recommended. He is potty trained when taken out frequently and does best with a consistent routine. He did well being left alone and will continue to thrive with structure and regular outings. True to his heeler breed, Howlywood can be mouthy and does like to nip, and he can jump up which may result in scratches. This behavior is not aggressive, but adopters should be prepared to work on manners and provide appropriate outlets for his energy. He loves going on walks and enjoys getting out and about. Howlywood walks fairly well on a leash but can be very excitable and is still learning to walk calmly at your side. He rides great in the car and loves attention, being pet, cuddling up, and cozy warm blankets. His foster describes him as a great dog who just wants to be loved. Howlywood Undead is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Story
Noodle's story began when she and several of her siblings were found along the highway. While the others found homes, Noodle and her sister, Egg, were the last two and eventually made their way to our shelter. Now she's ready to find the forever family she deserves! Noodle is a happy-go-lucky puppy with a playful spirit and a zest for life. She loves to run, wrestle, and play, especially if toys are involved! In fact, she loves her toys so much that they rarely stay in one piece for long. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling, Noodle is your girl. She has done well around other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. She has also seen horses from a distance, though she hasn't had close interactions with them, so we can't say how she would do. Like many young puppies, Noodle can be a bit vocal during playtime and will often alert you to unfamiliar sounds or new people. As with any puppy, Noodle will benefit from continued training, patience, and plenty of love as she grows into a wonderful lifelong companion. If you're ready for adventures, laughter, and lots of puppy kisses, Noodle is ready to meet you! Noodle is spayed, rabies vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. She has received 2 of her 3 DHPP vaccinations.

Story
Loaf was found in the county after getting himself stuck in a chicken coop. While his rescue may have had a happy ending, this sweet boy is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Loaf is extremely timid and will need a patient, understanding family willing to let him adjust at his own pace. He seems to gain confidence when other dogs are around, so he may do well in a home with a calm, friendly canine companion to help show him the ropes. He's not a fan of walking on a leash and would much rather be a homebody, enjoying the comfort and security of a quiet home. New people can be very frightening for Loaf, so building trust will take time—but for someone willing to invest that patience, watching him come out of his shell will be incredibly rewarding. Because of his experience and behavior around poultry, Loaf should not be placed in a home with chickens or other fowl. Loaf is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. He is heartworm negative and on prevention. If you're looking to give a shy dog the chance to finally feel safe and loved, Loaf may be the perfect match

Story
Charm was surrendered after being adopted in 2024, and she’s ready for a fresh start with a family who can give her the structure and love she deserves. This sweet girl does well with other dogs and enjoys having a yard where she can run and burn off her energy. A tall, secure fence is a must, as Charm is known to test her boundaries if given the chance. She does well with cats, but because she doesn’t quite realize her size, she can sometimes play a little too rough. Charm loves kids and would make a great family companion. She can be a bit nervous around new people—especially men—but with patience and time, she warms up and shows her loving personality. She is doggy door trained, but may have accidents indoors without one, so consistency will be important in her new home. Charm rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and can tolerate a crate for short periods. Bath time, however, is not her favorite activity! Charm would thrive in a home that can give her space to play, gentle guidance, and understanding as she continues to build her confidence. In return, she’ll be a loyal and loving companion. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and on prevention. She is currently receiving dewormer.

Story
Lucky’s journey hasn’t been the easiest—she was originally adopted from us in 2024 and returned as a stray in rough shape. Lucky still has that fun, puppy-like energy and zest for life. She absolutely loves playtime and thrives on attention. She’s good with strangers and enjoys meeting new people, though she can be a little sporadic around dogs. Lucky often shows her excitement by jumping up for attention, so some basic manners training will go a long way with her. She is not currently housebroken and will need continued housetraining in her new home. Lucky does well in a kennel and should be crated when left alone. She’ll also benefit from leash training, as she is not comfortable walking on a leash yet. Grooming isn’t her favorite activity either and will require patience and positive reinforcement. Lucky is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you’re looking for a happy, bouncy companion who just needs a little guidance, structure, and a lot of love, Lucky could be the one for you!

Photo of Lily

Lily

Australian Shepherd Labrador Retriever

Female, 8 yrs 9 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lily was surrendered through no fault of her own and has proven just how resilient she is. After a few days of adjusting to the busy shelter environment, she truly blossomed into a happy, affectionate girl who eagerly soaks up attention from anyone willing to give it. She previously lived with other dogs and children and is said to do well with both. She is also friendly with strangers and enjoys meeting new people. However, Lily does not like cats, so a cat-free home is a must for her. She loves toys—especially balls—and enjoys playtime just as much as cuddle time. Lily is housebroken, crate trained, rides calmly in the car, and walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for both adventures and cozy evenings at home. Lily absolutely loves to cuddle and go for walks, and she’s happiest when she’s getting affection from her people. She also seems to think she’s much smaller than she really is and will happily sit or lay on you if you’re sitting down, soaking up all the cuddles she can get. Lily can get a little lonely when left by herself and may howl, so she would do best in a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods. She thrives on companionship and will reward you with loyalty and love. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Story
Rocky was adopted in 2024 and returned due to no fault of his own. Rocky is a handsome dog with cute, fluffy ears and a happy-go-lucky personality that makes him a joy to be around. He is good with dogs, cats, kids, and strangers, and has done well playing with other dogs in foster homes, though a proper introduction is always recommended. He does need to be left alone while eating, so a home without very young children or one that can manage feeding time appropriately would be best. He does well with cats, although if they run outdoors, he may chase them. He will chase cows, so a home without livestock will be important for him. Rocky is housebroken. He walks pretty well on a leash but may pull when excited. He rides well in the car and does well being groomed. Rocky has an extreme dislike of crates and does not do well being confined or left alone inside, so he will need a home that can accommodate his comfort and help him feel secure. He is a fun, active boy who loves toys, running around, and soaking up attention. He also enjoys cuddling on the couch or bed and being close to his people. Rocky would benefit from continued training, as he does not yet know basic commands, but he is eager and ready to learn. Rocky is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is heartworm negative and on prevention.
