Story
Rebel is a very independent, sweet puppy.  He came to us with his mother, Lulu and his brother, Rufus.  They all look so different and we have no information regarding Dad.  We think the mother is a Kelpie mix but this little guy looks like he has some lab in him to.  He is a puppy, so not housetrained, but is very good at only going in his outside area.  He loves attention, toys, and all the human contact and love he can get.  UPDATE:  Rebel just entered the Paws In Prison Program on 4/23/24 and will learn obedience training, house training, leash trained, crate trained and learn tricks too.  He is a very smart puppy and very independent so we felt he would benefit from this training.  He will graduate the end of June.  He will be ready for you to visit soon. If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.April 30, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Lulu came to us as a stray with her two 9 week old puppies. We don't know her history, but we do know she is super sweet, mellow, loving, and very good with other dogs and people. She walks well on a leash and is house trained. She has received a lot of socialization and care from someone. Lulu also likes to play with toys. She would make a great family dog, is good with other animals and kids. And just look at those big ears...very unique! Lulu is about 1-2 yrs old and weighs 50lbs. **Lulu was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners and she may even learn some tricks as well! Lulu will be looking for a forever home before she graduates in late May, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us!  If you would like more information, please contact the shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.  April 30, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Foxy 6887 Australian Kelpie & Border Collie Mix Rogers, AR Young Female Medium Petfinder recommends that you should always take reasonable security steps before making online payments. Meet Foxy 6887 Foxy showed her appreciation of her bark park outing as she dashed about with oodles of joyful energy. Her favorite toy was a soft lavender squeaky that she brought up to the human hoping to get a chance for another toss and retrieve. It was a request that couldn’t be refused. Foxy showed off her desire to get close to the human as she draped her arms over the leg of the Humane Society volunteer. Foxy shared a big from-the-heart smile and clasped her paws together as though she was giving thanks for the occasion. Foxy loves a caring touch and is definitely a lap dog in training. 1-year-old Foxy walks nicely on leash, takes treats respectfully and will come running to you when called and will arrive with a “this is a lot of fun” ecstatic smile. Foxy is a friendly, cheerful canine who wants to share endless hugs.

Story
Lily was adopted from our local animal control, 4 years ago as a stray and has adjusted well to being a house dog. She is extremely sweet and an amazing dog. She is great with dogs her size or smaller, but can be over-submissive and is sometimes bullied. She does great with kids of all ages, and enjoys running around with them outside or sitting with them as they read and relax. You will often find her sitting at one of her people’s feet while they work or walking around the house seeing what everyone is doing. She loves to explore outside and go for walks or jogs. Lily knows most basic commands, and is food motivated. She enjoys routine and schedule, but will adapt quickly to changes and enjoys the occasional trip to dog daycare. She will be your best friend and closest ally, and will love to join your pack.

Story
Opie came to us, with his brother Oden.  They were adopted as puppies and just returned for killing 2 chickens and chasing the family cat. Opie does really well with other dogs and kids too.  He has a very loving, calm nature and would make a great family pet in a home without chickens.  He has the most beautiful blue eyes you have ever seen and is full grown at 36lbs. Opie is on the timid side but will do fine in a home with another dog - he is unsure of himself but feels confident with another doggo around. If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website, schspets.org, and complete an adoption application and someone will call you for a meet and greet.April 30, 2024, 2:16 pm
