Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Ellen – Your Sweet Shadow Ellen is a gentle, tricolor Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix who’s about 9 years old. Petite at just 35 pounds, she’s the perfect size for snuggles and companionship. Ellen has already proven her resilience—after overcoming mammary issues and healing beautifully from her spay, she’s ready to enjoy the good life with a loving family. What makes Ellen special Sweet & Loyal: Ellen loves to follow her people everywhere, always eager to be part of whatever you’re doing. Dog-Friendly: She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her a great fit for multi-pet households. Affectionate Companion: Ellen adores giving kisses, rubbing against her humans, and soaking up massages around her neck and face. Couch Potato or Shadow: Left alone, she’s happy to relax quietly, but she’ll also trail you from room to room to keep you in sight. Family-Friendly: Ellen loves everyone—including children—and greets new people with friendliness. Low Energy: Due to age, she’s calm and easygoing, with modest exercise needs. Special Considerations: Ellen is hearing impaired, stairs can be tricky for her, and she hasn’t been tested with cats—but her foster believes she’d do fine with them. Ellen’s Ideal Home Ellen is the kind of dog who will quietly brighten your days with her gentle presence and unconditional love. She’s happiest in a home where she can be near her humans, enjoying a relaxed lifestyle filled with affection. Age: 11 months Location: Plymouth, IN Rambo is a goofy, loving soul searching for his forever family! This energetic pup is a true ball dog and a water enthusiast—spray the hose and watch him run, or give him a pool and let him soak to his heart’s content. He’s happiest when he’s splashing around and playing! Rambo is full of playful energy but knows how to settle down when asked. He’ll happily cuddle by your feet or snuggle up on the couch next to you. His loving eyes and sweet nature make it impossible not to fall for him. He’s a social butterfly, making friends easily with other dogs—especially those who love to play as much as he does. Rambo takes cues from other dogs well and will back off when told. He’s 100% crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is sensitive to collar pressure. His recall is excellent, and he knows his name! Rambo loves all people he meets and has completed 8 weeks of basic puppy classes. He also attends doggy daycare when his foster mom is out of town or working, so he’s sharpening his social skills every day. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Suzi is an adult ACD/BC who was found stray and is currently in a foster home for Mo-Kan Border Collie Rescue.  This is a courtesy listing on behalf of Mo-Kan BC Rescue, and anyone interested in meeting or learning more about Suzi should e-mail Kim Pluenneke of Mo-Kan at the below e-mail address: kpluenneke@gmail.com Mo-Kan BC Rescue says this about Suzi: Meet Suzi, a charming black and white Border Collie mix, weighing around 40 lbs. She's a true peoplelover, always ready for affection and cuddles. Suzi enjoys a variety of things and activities such as playing tug, soft squeaky toys, going on walks, frozen peanut butter filled kongs, hard chews, licky mats, snuffle mats, dog puzzles, soft foam dog beds (and maybe a fuzzy one for her head), belly rubs, and giving kisses. She's potty trained and kennel trained, though she'd rather be by your side.  Suzi has a bit of a prey drive, so she's not suited for homes with small animals. She's selective with other dogs, making her a good fit as an only dog or with a submissive dog companion. She's actively learning commands and tricks (sit, lie down, come, wait, here, get it, give it, leave it, place, here, spin, twirl, touch, hide, roll over, crawl and catch) and is eager to please for treats or toys. Suzi is intelligent, inquisitive, and knows when to relax. If you're seeking a Border Collie's intelligence, beauty, and loyalty without the high energy, Suzi is your ideal match. She requires a fenced yard and someone knowledgeable about her breed. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Suzi is currently in foster care in Manhattan, KS.   Please note that Suzi is listed as being good with kids but has not been around very small children (toddlers and infants); she does quite well with older children.  She is friendly with dogs of her size and will need a gradual introduction to much smaller dogs.  She is not tolerant of cats as they seem to set off her prey drive.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 5, 2025, 8:59 pm
