Makemake - Cool name! Cool dude! He is a higher energy guy who is very affectionate. He is currently in foster care. Helping Strays offers training to adopters.Makemake is 3 years old and 48 lbs.The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. He’s goofy, loving, and instantly charming — the kind of dog who makes friends with adults almost immediately and wins hearts without even trying. He’s social with other dogs and does great in playgroups at doggy daycare. Rambo reads canine cues well, plays appropriately, and enjoys being part of the fun. A true ball dog and water lover, Rambo is always ready for playtime. He’s also learned how to entertain himself nicely — give him toys, a bone, or a chew, and he’ll happily focus on that, content to play on his own. Like many young dogs, he may chew toys that aren’t his if given the chance, so durable chews and hard toys are his favorites. Despite his playful energy, Rambo has a great off-switch. When it’s time to relax, he’s right there beside you — curled up on the couch, leaning in close, and soaking up all the cuddles. He’s truly a big cuddle bug. Rambo walks nicely on a leash, has excellent recall to his name, and is fully crate trained — he even runs to his crate at mealtime. She's a true peoplelover, always ready for affection and cuddles. Suzi enjoys a variety of things and activities such as playing tug, soft squeaky toys, going on walks, frozen peanut butter filled kongs, hard chews, licky mats, snuffle mats, dog puzzles, soft foam dog beds (and maybe a fuzzy one for her head), belly rubs, and giving kisses. She's potty trained and kennel trained, though she'd rather be by your side.  Suzi has a bit of a prey drive, so she's not suited for homes with small animals. She's selective with other dogs, making her a good fit as an only dog or with a submissive dog companion. She's actively learning commands and tricks (sit, lie down, come, wait, here, get it, give it, leave it, place, here, spin, twirl, touch, hide, roll over, crawl and catch) and is eager to please for treats or toys. Suzi is intelligent, inquisitive, and knows when to relax. If you're seeking a Border Collie's intelligence, beauty, and loyalty without the high energy, Suzi is your ideal match. She requires a fenced yard and someone knowledgeable about her breed. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
