Story
***Blakely is BONDED to Drako and they need to be adopted together!***Meet Blakely and Drako! This mixed/matched pair found themselves in a Texas impound after their owner died and there were too many animals in the home for family to take in. They spent some time in this rescue where they learned how bonded these two were. When separated, they become incredibly stressed, depressed, and shut down. However, once they are reunited with each other, they become happy, confident and loving! They were having trouble finding a rescue that was able to take them both so they then made the long journey to Minnesota to come to our facility! Blakely is the younger one at roughly about 1 year old where her buddy Drako is about 2 or 3. Blakely was estimated to be some sort Kelpie mix, but it is really hard to say for sure. Drako is estimated to be some sort of Maltese or yorkie mix. This adorable pair is on the hunt to find their perfect forever home where they can spend their days playing, cuddling up together, and romping through a yard. If you have room in your house and heart for these two, apply online today!Adoption fee for the pair is $400 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

These pups are in Austin, Minnesota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lyra is about 2 years old and looks to be a shepherd/heeler type mix. She was found running loose, held for the LEGAL stray hold, and never claimed. She is very shy but becomes very loyal and loving companion once she's comfortable and secure. Lyra has been vet checked, spayed, chipped, and her fee is $150. Lyra has been adopted a couple of times and returned as she just hasn't been able to find the right fit yet. She is incredibly smart and learns quickly. However she does possess quite a few of the intense traits of a herding breed type dog. She is laser focused and needs both mental and physical exercise. She would love to have some type of job to do and would probably be a great candidate for agility training. She does tend to bond quite closely to one or two people and can be protective and territorial. Lyra needs an ADULT only home. She needs someone who is experience with herding breed types and their quirky personalities. She would love a home that is ready, willing, and able to continue with her training and helping her gain confidence. FENCED YARD needed. Lyra has done well with well mannered MALE dogs who respect her space. She does enjoy playing with other dogs once she's comfortable. Cats? Most likely a no. Cuddling is one of her favorite things. She's also in need of a home in which she won't be left alone for long hours. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Argo arrived in November 2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a Reservation in South Dakota. He is about 3 to 4 years old and does have a lot of the trademark features of mixed breed dogs from Reservations - "Rezzies", as they are affectionately known in rescue. Like many Rezzies, he could be a mix of cattle dog and German and/or Australian shepherd, just to name a few possible options. He's a handsome and very active dog. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Argo has had some basic training and will require a lot of consistent exercise. This is of the utmost importance in order to keep him well balanced and happy. He is ready for action all the time but gets serious when leashed. He does pretty well on leash walks and loves car rides. He's an affectionate guy, too, who thinks nothing of climbing into a person's lap if he gets the chance. Argo would do best in a home with a large fenced yard. He's NOT a dog for apartment living. He's looking for an ADULT only, single person home as he tends to bond very closely to his person and becomes quite protective. No cats for him. He's incredibly smart and would be a lot of fun to train! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Boo, aka Blue (his former owners used both) was originally adopted from us back in 2021, when he was around 2 years old. Unfortunately, Boo had to be returned to us in December 2025 after 4 years in his home, through no fault of his own. His owner had some difficult life changes and it was a sad situation for all involved, so we're grateful that the family reached out to us for help. Boo has been completely vetted, chipped, and his fee is $125. Boo is about 6 years old now and is a medium-sized dog who could be a husky/cattle dog mix, possibly with other breeds like border collie and rat terrier. He very much loves to be with his people and is affectionate and attentive. He would do best in a home in which he's not left alone for long hours. He is still pretty active, enjoys his exercise, and is also content to hang out and cuddle. He has done well with other dogs and kids, but he's not the best fit for cats. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
