Story
THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON LISTED BELOW. WARF HAS NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS ANIMAL. Sweet Korra has been through it. She was originally picked up with another stray dog in early July and taken to the Contra Costa County Animal Shelter. She was scheduled to be euthanized less than 3 weeks later, but was placed in foster through a rescue organization. Korra was quite stressed in the shelter, jumping and barking in her enclosure. Once she got outside her kennel, she settled down a bit, but was still clearly uncomfortable. She has been in foster with a family and their two dogs for the past month. She is sweet, gentle and affectionate with her people. She is silly, playful and very smart. Unfortunately, she is very reactive to the resident dogs and needs a different placement. If you are experienced with Kelpies and/or reactive dogs, Korra is soo worth the effort. She has lots of love to give and a ton of potential. She just needs a patient someone who will put in the time and effort to show her what consistency and safety look like. If you are interested in meeting Korra, please contact Dessie at 925 286-1707 or Howard's Hound Haven at howardshoundhaven@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Nile. He’s about 4 years old, and while he may be a little shy when you first meet him, there’s a sweet, playful boy waiting underneath that initial hesitation. Nile just needs someone willing to be patient. Someone who won’t expect him to trust them immediately. Someone who will give him the time to realize that he’s safe. Someone who will let him come out of his shell at his own pace. And there’s one very important part of Nile’s story: His brother Hudson is his person. ❤️ These two are bonded, and they need to find their forever home together. Nile loves going for walks, splashing around in the water, and—perhaps his favorite activity of all—chasing his brother around like they have absolutely nowhere else to be. 😂 He’ll even chase a ball for you… bringing it back, however, is apparently beneath him. 😂 Nile is dog selective and not good with cats. He can do well with kids, but we recommend a home with children 10 and older. We know asking someone to open their heart and home to two dogs can feel like a lot. But maybe it shouldn’t be thought of as taking on two dogs. Maybe it’s giving two brothers the one thing they refuse to lose: each other. Nile has Hudson. Hudson has Nile. And somewhere out there is a family who will look at the two of them and say, “You don’t have to choose. You can both come home.” ❤️ Nile may need a little time to trust you. But once he does, you’ll have earned something incredibly special. And when he finally curls up beside you, knowing he’s safe, knowing his brother is right there, knowing they’re not going anywhere… you’ll understand why waiting for him was worth it. 🐾❤️ Please help Nile and Hudson find the forever home they can share.

Story
Meet Hudson. He’s about 2 years old, and if you’re looking for a dog who will greet every stranger with a wagging tail and immediately ask for cuddles… well, Hudson might not be that guy. And that’s okay. Because Hudson has his brother, Nile. And his brother is his world. ❤️ Hudson can be a little reserved when it comes to people. He doesn’t need everyone to love him, and he certainly doesn’t feel the need to make friends with everyone he meets. But his brother? That’s different. Nile is his constant. His playmate. His comfort. His family. These two are bonded and need to find their forever home together. Hudson loves his toys, loves being with his brother, and is much more dog-friendly than Nile. He’s happiest when he has another dog by his side and someone who understands that trust doesn’t always happen overnight. Maybe Hudson won’t be the dog who runs up to you and immediately says, “I love you!” Maybe he’ll be the one who watches you from across the room first. Maybe he’ll take his time. And maybe, one day, when he finally decides that you’re his person, you’ll realize just how special it is to be trusted by a dog who doesn’t give his heart away easily. ❤️ We know asking someone to adopt two dogs can feel like a lot. But when you look at Hudson and Nile, it’s hard to imagine separating them. They have already chosen each other. So we’re hoping someone will choose both of them. A family willing to give Hudson the time he needs. A family willing to let Nile be his sidekick. A family who understands that sometimes the most beautiful bond isn’t the one you build with a dog… it’s the one you get to witness between two brothers who have each other. Hudson doesn’t need to become a social butterfly. He just needs a safe place, a few good toys, his brother beside him, and someone patient enough to let him love them in his own way. He and Nile don’t need two separate forever homes. They just need one person to say: “You don’t have to choose. You can both come home.” 🥺❤️🐾
