Approximate DOB 08/11/2022 Size - maybe 50 lbs - his mom is about 45 but he is a big boy History- This guy was picked up by animal control with his mom (Phoebe) and sister (Monica) running at large. At that time the puppies were about 5 weeks old and just following mom as she looked for food. They then spent about 6 weeks in the shelter with no interest. After 6 weeks the shelter was packed with no open kennels and they were asking for help and sent out some photos of dogs who had been there a long time that could end up on the euthanasia list if one had to be made. We let them know we would take them and picked them up the next morning. Sadly the shelter is very small with few staff members and a bunch of dogs- which means that puppies don't really get the socialization they need at a shelter so they were pretty fearful when we got them. The little girl would run from us every chance she got and they hid under and behind their mom. They have now been with us for a few weeks and doing much better but will need patient homes with a focus on love and training- spending as much time as possible with family members and meeting new people. Temperament- He tries to be very brave but is still a little worried. Extremely smart but still acts a little fearful. Doesn't accept cuddles as he didn't grow up with them but now loves attention and pets. Ross is very treat motivated. Energy Level- Very high energy  Dogs/Cats- They have met the other dogs here and love to play chase. They are very submissive puppies when meeting the others. Terrified of the cats. Housetrained- They currently stay in the laundry room with a baby gate and are completely house trained to go outside to do their business. Ross is absolutely adorable and looks very much like a Bull Terrier mix. If we didn't have momma we would have thought he was a Bull Terrier mix- and his dad could have been we honestly don't know. But we don't think momma has Bull Terrier in her - she looks to be a kelpie mix. Ross is very smart and learns quickly. He is also very food motivated and really, really, really wants to trust people. He is such a sweet boy and follows us around to watch. When I weed the garden he drags them around to try and get Monica to chase him. He loves the grandkids and is just such a sweet gentle boy.  He is still fearful though and will run if they move to fast but overall if they sit quietly he loves to go to them for love. He will make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a special pup to help come out of his shell- this boy will definitely blossom once he learns to trust a new family as he has been meeting strangers and is excited for the attention.  Adoption fee $100 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Approximate DOB 08/11/2022 Size - maybe 45 lbs - her mom is about 45 History- This little girl was picked up by animal control with her mom (Phoebe) and brother (Ross) running at large. Sadly the shelter is very small with few staff members and a bunch of dogs- which means that puppies don't really get the socialization they need at a shelter so they were pretty fearful when we got them. They have now been with us for a few weeks and doing much better but will need patient homes with a focus on love and training- spending as much time as possible with family members and meeting new people. Monica is still a pretty fearful little girl but she is easy to manage and happy overall - she seems to come out of her shell around other dogs and when she is learning. Temperament- Monica has come a long way since coming in. She is super playful and sweet with me but still quite scared of strangers. She loves children and will go give them kisses from behind but will run if they try to play with her. She has done wonderful meeting new people and will hang out with us now so she is trying but will need someone special. She is still quite worried but is now letting us touch her and will come up to me for loves and kisses. She is extremely smart and very treat motivated. She doesn't accept cuddles as she didn't grow up with them and will still keep her distance but overall loves learning and very treat motivated. Loves playing with the other dogs and super high energy. She does do the healing/nipping at the ankles/yipping that herding breeds are known for when playing with the other dogs. Energy Level- Very, very high energy puppy- should have another dog to play and run with or a running partner. Dogs/Cats- They love playing chase with the other dogs. Puppies seem drawn to them so always end up in their room with them to play. They are somewhat scared of the cats for who knows why but they are scared of them and will try and back into a corner or hide behind me if the cats come into where we are sitting.  Housetrained- She and Ross are both house trained and crate trained to the laundry room together.  Monica is absolutely adorable and is super super smart. She loves kids and trusts them more than adults however she is doing amazing at meeting strangers. She is very food motivated and really, really, really wants to trust people but still keeps her distance with everyone but me. She loves pets now and I think would blossom in her own home. She will make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a special pup to help come out of her shell- this pretty little girl will definitely blossom once she learns to trust her new family. She is house trained and doing great, knows here (as come), responds to a whistle if further away to come, and sits on command. Adoption fee $100 includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Approximate DOB 07/11/2021 Size - maybe 45 lbs History- This little girl was picked up by animal control with her puppies (Monica and Ross) running at large. At that time the puppies were about 5 weeks old and just following mom as she looked for food. They then spent about 6 weeks in the shelter with no interest. We let them know we would take them and picked them up the next morning. Phoebe was extremely grateful and pranced around and showed us just how happy she was to be here. Temperament- She is one of the sweetest girls ever. So happy and just loves attention. After being with s for a year she has learned that toys are super fun.  Energy Level- High energy - should have another dog to play and run with or a running partner. She seems to do better with males. Dogs/Cats- She has met the other dogs here and loves to play with Shadow and Ruger the best. She has seen the cats in the house and just ignores them. Housetrained- She is perfect. Has not had a single accident and is crate trained as well for when I have to leave. Phoebe is an absolute doll!! Just a perfect, sweet, gentle little girl. However, we have learned she can be difficult to contain. We had them in a run off the back of the house- 6 ft panels and she easily jumped up and pulled herself over. She will need a tall privacy fence to keep her contained - if there is wire she can jump and then pull herself up and over. We have put a hot wire up and she has learned to stay away from the fences here. She is high energy and quite the little defender. A creepy guy was riding a bike past the foster home recently and she decided to chase him off- she doesn't bite but she will chase and bark to let people know she means business. She is very sweet though and happy and introduces to new people easily. She is very gentle with my 3 year old granddaughter and even lets her handle the leash without pulling her down. She has learned here (as come), responds to a whistle if further away to come, and sits on command. She is just an overall easy girl that would be a fantastic addition to any family wanting a sweet, athletic, loving girl. Adoption fee $150 includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Story
I adopted Jackson in around August of 2021 from the Bernalillo County Animal Shelter to be my second dog. He is lovable, cuddly, and sweet. He loves affection, cuddling, and being right next to you. He is very attentive and comes on command. I have crate trained him successfully in the past. When we leave the house he occasionally has some mild separation anxiety which is exhibited by jumping at the windows. He is in good health and has been well fed. We are looking to rehome him only because of busy work schedules and no longer able to work from home. He is an adorable handsome pup that loves a good belly rub.
