Story
Tika is a sweet and gentle girl who may start off a little shy, and she is currently in the shelter’s Shy Dog Program to help her build confidence. Once she gets comfortable, her affectionate side shines. She enjoys sniffing and exploring her surroundings at her own pace, and she’s happy to lean in for gentle petting under her chin once she trusts you.She walks well on leash, especially when away from kennel noise, and shows patience and curiosity when meeting new environments. Tika seems to be housetrained but may take a little time to readjust once in a home. She is a sweet, calm, and attentive companion who will thrive in a quieter, patient, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence and bond with her people.Tika is ready to share her gentle affection and loyalty with her forever family!

Meet Thorn — a 2-year-old Australian Kelpie mix who’s on the shy side but gaining confidence every day. Thorn came in with his sisters and already knows sit, shake, and comes when called. He’s gentle with treats and walks nicely right beside you. He’s likely housetrained, as he tends to go as soon as he gets out of his kennel. Thorn is also friendly with other dogs, enjoying playtime with his sisters at the shelter. Having another dog at home may help him adjust and gain confidence. Once Thorn trusts you, he’s sweet, loving, and affectionate, and just wants to be by your side. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who rewards patience with love, Thorn is your guy.

Story
Jack Jack is a medium sized super high energy doggo that loves to run and play! He is people selective and loves to protect his family. Because he tends to get very attached, he would need a home where someone is there for me 24/7. He prefers females as he is more comfortable with them, so he would need to go slow when meeting males. He is great with other dogs and would love to have a playmate. He also loves to play in water, so a small dog pool is preferred!! He is definitely still a puppy at heart and gets incredibly fast zoomies! He would do best in a home where he can be very active and play as long as he wants! He would also do best in a home with older children and adults since he is very high energy. If you are looking for a hiking buddy, a running buddy or just a very active playmate he would be the perfect fit for you!He can be found at the main ranch location. Story
Our team can’t emphasize enough how full of love this sweet, seven-year-old Cattle Dog mix is! Josie has stolen our hearts with her affectionate and calm personality. She loves to lay in the grass and soak up the sunshine, take slow walks with plenty of time to sniff and explore, play with toys, hang out with her human friends, and is food motivated (there’s no treat left behind with this girl!) Josie knows "sit" and "down" and would love to learn more if treats are involved! A team member says, “Josie loves meeting new people – she rolls over for belly rubs and is just thrilled to be by your side. She is truly a sweetheart who will be a wonderful companion for someone!”

Story
Hiiiii, I'm Serena. I'm a real love bug, and everyone I meet is my new best friend, so I know we'll get along great! I’m still a young gal and always ready for play. I would love to learn from and with you, as I am just getting started in this life. Here are some of the things I love; I love getting to spend time outside, I get the cutest zoomies when I get excited, I love all kinds of toys, I've done well around other dogs and kids, I’m also a real fan of cuddles at the end of the day. Really, I just have so much love and excitement I need to share it with you!! I have the cutest ears and soft, dark brown coat. And check out my stunning white booties. And these boots are meant for anything by your side. Get it? So if you’re looking for personality, affection and charm, I can’t wait to meet you! A team member says, "Serena is such a sweet, smart girl. She attaches to you very quickly and will give you plenty of gentle kisses before snuggling up either beside you or on your lap."

Story
Hi there! My name is Wess. I've been told that I'm too big to be a lap dog but I don't believe that for a second! I really like meeting new people. Especially the ones who bring me snacks! I used to be the protector of my people and our home but now I'm learning that I don't have to do that anymore! I like my new job much better: Chief Inspector of Squeaky Toys and Tasty Treats. Come down to Animal Humane's main campus and say hi to me! I can't wait to meet you!
