Story
Hi! My name is Jimmy and I am a male Kelpie blend born on November 6, 2022. I'm an adventurous puppy who loves to play and explore. I do good with other dogs and the resident cat. I love treats and am eager to learn any trick. I know "sit", "paw" and am mostly potty trained. My foster mom says I'm doing great at leash training. I also love the playground and will go down the slide! I would love a home with another playful dog and active people. Do you have a place for me with your family? I hope so!  All of our pets are in foster homes in the greater Albuquerque area. The steps to getting a new furry friend include: the completion of an adoption application, a home visit, and an adoption approval, along with the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $275 and includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, chip, and age appropriate vaccines. We look forward to helping you complete your family, soon. ##1612702##

Approximate DOB 08/11/2022 Size - maybe 50 lbs - his mom is about 45 but he is a big boy History- This guy was picked up by animal control with his mom (Phoebe) and sister (Monica) running at large. At that time the puppies were about 5 weeks old and just following mom as she looked for food. They then spent about 6 weeks in the shelter with no interest. After 6 weeks the shelter was packed with no open kennels and they were asking for help and sent out some photos of dogs who had been there a long time that could end up on the euthanasia list if one had to be made. We let them know we would take them and picked them up the next morning. Sadly the shelter is very small with few staff members and a bunch of dogs- which means that puppies don't really get the socialization they need at a shelter so they were pretty fearful when we got them. The little girl would run from us every chance she got and they hid under and behind their mom. They have now been with us for a few weeks and doing much better but will need patient homes with a focus on love and training- spending as much time as possible with family members and meeting new people. Temperament- He tries to be very brave but is still a little worried. Extremely smart but still acts a little fearful. Doesn't accept cuddles as he didn't grow up with them will still keep his distance at times but overall loves attention and is very treat motivated. Energy Level- Very, very high energy big puppy Dogs/Cats- They have met the other dogs here and love to play chase. They are very submissive puppies when meeting the others. They met the cats and seemed very curious I will be having them spend more time with them over the next few days to get them more social with them so they can learn manners with them. Housetrained- They currently stay in the laundry room with a baby gate and are learning about house training and picking it up. But they do still have access to puppy pads in their room. I have hung a bell on the door and they are learning to ring it to go out but I have noticed if I don't let them out because I think they just hit it when playing in there they will use their pads. However when I let them out consistently they don't have accidents. Ross is absolutely adorable and looks very much like a Bull Terrier mix. If we didn't have momma we would have thought he was a Bull Terrier mix- and his dad could have been we honestly don't know. But we don't think momma has Bull Terrier in her - she looks to be a kelpie mix. Ross is very smart and learns quickly. He is also very food motivated and really, really, really wants to trust people. He is very submissive right now but I have noticed that since we have started working on basic obedience/commands he is getting braver and sitting straighter and coming when called. We will be starting leash work today. He will make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a special pup to help come out of his shell- this boy will definitely blossom once he learns to trust people fully. So far he is working on house training and doing great, knows here (as come), responds to a whistle if further away to come, and sits on command. We will start leash work, down (for lay down), and proper behavior around cats, horses, and goats. Adoption fee $150 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. They have now been with us for a few weeks and doing much better but will need patient homes with a focus on love and training- spending as much time as possible with family members and meeting new people. Monica is still a pretty fearful little girl but she is easy to manage and happy overall - she seems to come out of her shell around other dogs and when she is learning. Temperament- She is still quite worried but is now letting me touch her but she doesn't want it she tolerates it. She is extremely smart and very treat motivated. She does try and grab my legs with her front paws as I leave their area so she wants me in there but still learning to trust. She doesn't accept cuddles as she didn't grow up with them and will still keep her distance but overall loves learning and very treat motivated. Loves playing with the other dogs and super high energy. She does do the healing/nipping at the ankles/yipping that herding breeds are known for when playing with the other dogs. Energy Level- Very, very high energy puppy- should have another dog to play and run with or a running partner. Dogs/Cats- They have met the other dogs here and love to play chase. She is pretty dominant/rough when playing. In fact that is the only time she is super brave is when she is out with the horses and dogs playing and running around. They met the cats and seemed very curious I will be having them spend more time with them over the next few days to get them more social with them so they can learn manners with them. Approximate DOB 07/11/2021 Size - maybe 45 lbs History- This little girl was picked up by animal control with her puppies (Monica and Ross) running at large. Phoebe was extremely grateful and pranced around and showed us just how happy she was to be here. Temperament- She is one of the sweetest girls ever. So happy and just loves attention. She does not know about toys though and seems a little scared of them -- so she's just been watching the other dogs so far. Energy Level- High energy - should have another dog to play and run with or a running partner. She seems to do better with males. Dogs/Cats- She has met the other dogs here and loves to play with Shadow and Ruger the best. She has seen the cats in the house and just ignores them. Housetrained- She is perfect. Has not had a single accident and is crate trained as well for when I have to leave. Phoebe is an absolute doll!! Just a perfect, sweet, gentle little girl. However, we have learned she is difficult to be contained. We had them in a run off the back of the house- 6 ft panels and she easily jumped up and pulled herself over. She will need a tall privacy fence to keep her contained - if there is wire she can jump and then pull herself up and over. She is high energy and quite the little defender. A creepy guy was riding a bike past the foster home recently and she decided to chase him off- she doesn't bite but she will chase and bark to let people know she means business. She is very sweet though and happy and introduces to new people easily. She is very gentle with my 2 year old granddaughter and even lets her handle the leash without pulling her down. She has learned here (as come), responds to a whistle if further away to come, and sits on command. We will start on a few other commands soon but for now she is just an overall easy girl that would be a fantastic addition to any family wanting a sweet, athletic, loving girl. Adoption fee $150 includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Story
Hi, I’m Porky! And if you like going on adventures, I’m your gal! I love exploring new things. I have lived with my mom and 8 other siblings in my foster home since I was born, but now it’s time for me to find a home of my own! I am 100% mutt and 100% adorable. I have been well socialized and enjoy meeting new people and new animals, but because I’m a puppy, I need a family that has the time and energy to teach and train me. I was born on 8/18/2022 and I am ready for my forever home. We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting. We can also make arrangements for a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with approved applications. You can complete and easy online application here: https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.
