2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

Small dog lovers who have always wanted a big dog- search no more! We have the perfect dog for you! This beautiful girl weighs 55 pounds and is estimated to be 5 years old. We think she is a Kelpie/Husky/shepherd mix, but we aren’t really sure, so we just call her our Texas Special- the very best breed! Trixie is being fostered with nine small grumpy dogs and has been a big foster sister to many more. It is funny to watch her gently play with them, and then she takes it in stride when they growl and snap at her. She shares toys and will lets them take toys from her- even thought she is 6 times their size! In play groups with other big dogs Trixie is very shy and stays on the sidelines. She will sniff calmer dogs, but doesn't want to get in the mix of things. For this reason, we think Trixie would thrive in a home with small dogs. She’s become her little shadow, quietly trailing from room to room to be nearby in hopes of sneaking in a belly rub. No one in the house is happier to see her foster mom when she comes home than Trixie, who bounds up to her like she has been gone days, even if it has only been 15 minutes. Like many herding breeds, Trixie uses her mouth to communicate and can be “mouthy”. She would do best with older kids who understand she is being playful. Looking for a buddy to grab a morning coffee or late night ice cream treat with? Trixie would love to join you! She is an excellent car rider and knows how to “load up”. She is great on the leash and loves to go for walks and to dog friendly stores. She walks by people and dogs with ease. This girl does like to watch squirrels and bunnies- and would give them a chase if allowed. Trixie gets lots of zoomies- and loves to go outside and run laps in the yard. She also enjoys basking in the sun watching the world go by. A home with a fenced yard she can run around in would be ideal for her. Trixie potty trained and crate trained. She is not the biggest fan of the crate and will complain for a while, but will settle down when she can no longer see you, for this reason she would not do well in an apartment. Trixie met our housecat Biggie and was gently curious, giving respectful sniffs before moving along. She’s considered cat tolerant and could do well in a home with a dog-savvy feline who won’t mind the occasional gentle inspection. Trixie is searching for a quiet, peaceful home where she can feel safe and adored, a place with a yard to explore, and a person to lean into and little dogs to play with. Jack is a sweet, gentle and affectionate 7 year old boy. He came to us on January 17th after his human passed away. Unfortunately, we're unable to keep Jack long term. Jack knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. He has done well in our home with 3 other dogs and a chicken. We've seen him interact with children on a limited basis and he has done well. He would do great as a companion for an elderly person or in a family setting. He's looking for someone who will take him on walks and love on him the way he deserves. Jack has allergies that went untreated for some time prior to coming to our home which has caused a skin condition. The good news is that it is treatable and he's already well on his way to feeling and looking better. His future home will need to continue his current regimen and be diligent about keeping his allergies under control. Jack has an appointment next week to get updated on shots and will then be adoptable through Senior Dog Rescue of Oregon!
