Story
Meet Maya – A Spirited Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Name: Maya Breed: Australian Kelpie–Terrier Mix DOB: December 7, 2024 Weight: 30 pounds Spayed, Vaccinated, and Healthy About Maya: Maya is a beautiful, medium-sized girl with a bright mind and a playful heart. She’s active, friendly, and full of curiosity. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going for a walk, or exploring the backyard, Maya is always up for an adventure. She loves people and enjoys being part of the action—but when playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up near her favorite humans. Breed Info – Australian Kelpie x Terrier: Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal working dogs with strong herding instincts. Terriers are energetic, clever, and full of personality. As a mix, Maya is the perfect blend of smart and spirited. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide both physical activity and mental stimulation. Expect a dog who learns quickly, bonds deeply, and loves to stay busy. Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise (walks, playtime, or training games) Offer basic obedience training and positive reinforcement Feed a healthy diet and maintain regular veterinary care Include Maya in family life—she’s not a dog to leave alone or chained outside Keep her mentally and physically active to prevent boredom Provide love, patience, structure, and a sense of safety Things to Consider Before Adopting Maya: Time & Energy: Maya needs more than a quick potty break. She’ll do best with a person or family who is active and engaged. Finances: Dogs require ongoing expenses (food, vet visits, flea/tick prevention, grooming, toys, etc.). Housing Rules: Make sure your landlord allows pets—especially medium-to-large breeds. Allergies: Check for pet allergies in the household. Lifelong Commitment: Maya could live 12–15+ years. She’s not a temporary guest—she’s family. No Outdoor Chains or Isolation: Maya needs interaction, exercise, and affection. Leaving her tied outside is not safe or fair to her well-being. Why Maya Will Be a Great Addition: Maya is intelligent, affectionate, and ready to love her people with her whole heart. She’s great for active individuals, couples, or families who want a smart, loyal companion to join them on walks, hikes, or playtime in the yard. Meet Bronco Dog Friendly Male DOB: 7/14/2023 Weight: 40 lbs Breed: Australian Kelpie  Neutered (Fixed): Yes Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Bronco is a friendly, outgoing dog with a wonderful personality and the manners of a true gentleman. He is incredibly social, enjoys meeting new people, gets along well with other dogs, and has a fun-loving spirit that makes him a joy to be around. Whether he's greeting new friends, playing outside, or riding shotgun on your next adventure, Bronco is happiest when he's spending time with his family. One of Bronco's favorite activities is playing fetch. Toss him a ball, and he'll happily chase after it again and again. He also absolutely loves car rides and is always ready to jump in for a road trip, a hike, or even a quick trip around town. His easygoing nature makes him an excellent travel companion. As an Australian Kelpie Mix, Bronco combines the intelligence, athleticism, and eagerness to learn that Kelpies are known for with the loyalty and affectionate nature that make them such devoted companions. Australian Kelpie mixes thrive when they have opportunities to stay active, learn new things, and spend quality time with their people. They are highly trainable, enjoy having a purpose, and respond exceptionally well to positive reinforcement. Bronco would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and outdoor adventures Plenty of playtime, especially games of fetch Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being With his intelligence, friendly personality, and love for people, Bronco is ready to become a loyal companion who will happily join his family on every adventure, then curl up nearby at the end of the day. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Like many rescue dogs, Bronco may need time to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. Even well-socialized dogs benefit from patience and consistency during the transition period. Most rescue dogs arrive with varying levels of training, so adopters should be prepared to continue reinforcing household manners and routines. Bronco is intelligent, eager to please, and enjoys learning through positive reinforcement. His social personality and willingness to engage make him a rewarding dog to continue training. Bronco will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Interactive play and mental enrichment Regular exercise and outdoor adventures Patience and consistency Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, love, and consistency, Bronco will continue to blossom into the incredible companion he was meant to be. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, companionship, and routine veterinary care. Bronco will need: Daily walks and exercise Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and parasite prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Continued training and mental enrichment A safe, stable indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, daily exercise, emotional support, and companionship are essential to helping Bronco live a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. Story
Meet Sienna 🤎 Sienna is the kind of puppy who makes you wonder how anyone could have ever overlooked her. This beautiful girl came to Cactus Ranch Rescue from the Cleveland shelter, where she was at risk and needed a safe place to land. Her story could have ended there, but instead, Sienna got her second chance — and she has been making the most of it ever since. Sienna is a sweet, playful, happy puppy with so much love to give. She enjoys other dogs of all sizes, does well with cats, and is great with kids. She has a fun, social personality and loves being part of the action, especially when toys are involved. And when we say this girl loves toys… we mean LOVES toys. Sienna is happiest when she has something to carry, chase, toss around, or proudly show off like she just won a championship. She is also doing great with the basics. Sienna does well on leash, is good in her kennel, and is learning how to be the best little family dog. Like all puppies, she will need continued patience, structure, potty training, and socialization as she grows, but she is smart, eager, and ready to learn. Sienna’s start may not have been fair, but her future can be full of love, playtime, safety, and forever. She is ready for a home that will adore her, guide her, and give her the life every puppy deserves.

Meet Sugar 🤍 Sugar is every bit as sweet as her name. This brave mama was dumped in Cleveland, Texas, with her tiny babies and left to survive in the excruciating Texas heat. Her puppies were born into conditions no newborn should ever have to endure, and Sugar did everything in her power to keep them alive. She protected them, cared for them, and helped them cling to life until they finally made it to safety with Cactus Ranch Rescue. Now it is Sugar’s turn to be the one taken care of. Sugar is an active, loving girl with the biggest heart. She is dog friendly, cat friendly, and kid friendly, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. She does great in her kennel, walks well on leash, and loves being close to her people. She has the perfect mix of fun and affection — ready for adventures, playtime, and walks, but also more than happy to curl up and be your little snuggle bug when the day is done. Sugar has already been an incredible mama. She fought for her babies when they needed her most, and now she deserves a family who will fight for her happiness too. She deserves a home where she is safe, loved, spoiled, and never abandoned again.
