Story
DO YOU HAVE THE LOVE, TIME AND EXPERIENCE TO CARE FOR A DIABETIC PUPPY? We are looking for a special family ready to welcome Princess into their home and give her a safe space to thrive. Princess is 8 months old, 25 pounds, and spayed. We don't know her breeds but we think she looks like a kelpie or rat terrier mix. Her owner surrendered her at 4 months old when she became severely ill. Princess has traveled between multiple rescues and states and she is now settled into her Wisconsin foster home. We are committed to learning all about canine type 1 diabetes and sharing that knowledge with you! Princess is a gem; she is a happy girl who enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks, playing with her dog friends and chewing on stuffies. She loves her people and older kids, but she needs proper introductions due to declining vision. She is best matched in a quieter routine-oriented home. She is great with calm dogs and ignores cats. She is house trained, but needs frequent potty breaks. Princess receives Insulin shots, eats a prescribed diet and requires daily monitoring of her blood glucose levels. Her new owners must be prepared to invest in her ongoing care. She is on a set schedule and must eat and get her insulin shot at the same time every morning and night. We are accepting applications to adopt Princess and we hope you'll consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl. She deserves to be the center of her owner's universe. She is worth the investment and she'll pay you back by following you around the house, falling asleep with her head on your shoulder and snoring in your ear. She also never misses a chance to show you her pearly white teeth. With proper blood sugar management and diet, she can live a normal and happy life! Please consider applying or spreading the word! Ryker is a stunning & loyal companion ready for his forever home 🐾He’s ~45–50 lbs, fully house-trained, crate trained, and incredibly intelligent with a very solid command foundation. Playful, silly, loving, and so eager to please. He gets compliments on his looks and temperament everywhere he goes!Rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Santa Fe last October, Ryker has blossomed into an amazing companion who bonds deeply with his people ☀︎ He is friendly at dog parks and generally non-reactive in public, making him a wonderful dog to bring along on all of your adventures. He rides great in the car — even on long road trips — settles well at home, and enjoys both playtime and relaxing near his people. He loves flirt pole sessions, squeaky toys, hiking, and being outside. His ideal home would include:• A fenced yard• Daily exercise/play• Someone home often or with a consistent routine• A playful dog buddy would be a huge bonus ♡

Story
Sheina (DOB 5/18/24) is such a stunning girl! We are guessing shes a Kelpie/German Shepherd mix and she is so smart! Sheina is around 50lbs. She is dog friendly, cats unknown. Sheina is hoping to having a home with a privacy fence so she can run around enjoying the world. She also needs a home with kids over the age of 12. Sheina can be a little skittish, so she’d need a family who is patient and will give her time to show what an amazing companion she can be! Overall, Sheina is eager to learn and be the very very best girl. Sheina promises to be your best friend and who could resist those amazing perky ears. Story
Libby is sure a unique-looking young girl; how can anyone not love her huge ears!! She is thought to be an Australian Kelpie Mix (possibly with Bull Terrier). She weighs about 30 lbs. Her estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. Libby is a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. She likes to jump and can sometimes forget herself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…she is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family she so deserves.. This sweet pup likes playing with other dogs; she’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company much more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Libby is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Libby to be her best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Libby is crate-trained and is working hard to improve her house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Name: Selena Possible Breed: Doberman / Kelpie Mix DOB: 5/18/24 Gender: Female Selena is a gentle, affectionate young girl who has truly blossomed in foster care. Rescued from a dangerous situation, she has grown into a loving, expressive, and personality-filled companion who is ready for her forever home. She is potty trained and crate trained, and she genuinely enjoys her kennel as a cozy, safe retreat. While she still appreciates her quiet crate time, she has also discovered the joy of couch lounging — sometimes even perched along the back of the couch “kitty style” to supervise the room. Selena is dog friendly and cat friendly — in fact, she is completely obsessed with Pretzel, her foster’s cat. They cuddle, they play, and they are often found relaxing together. (Check out the picture of them playing together!) She would do beautifully in a home with other respectful pets. Over the past month, Selena has truly found her voice. This once-quiet girl now happily shares her opinions and occasionally “gossips” with the neighbor dogs. She has a playful, expressive personality that continues to unfold as she gains confidence. She loves toys, especially her benebones and a beloved stuffed cactus. Whether she’s zooming around the yard, playing with her furry friends, or entertaining herself, she balances independence with affection. And when she’s feeling extra sweet, she’ll stop by for gentle hand kisses. Selena would thrive in a calmer home environment and would do best with no young children, or children over the age of 12 (Since she hasn’t been around kids). A secure privacy fence is recommended for her speedy zoomies and playful energy. She may need a little time to adjust to a new home, but once she feels safe, her loyal and loving nature shines brightly. Selena is seeking a home where she can feel secure, cherished, and understood — a family willing to give her the patience and kindness she deserves. In return, she will offer devotion, warmth, and a whole lot of personality. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will bring both love and a little sass to your home, Selena may be your girl. If you are interested in meeting Selena, please visit https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ to fill out an application.

Story
About Me: Name: Magical Sapphire Breed (or best guess): Mixed - possibly German Shepherd Mix Approximate Age: 1 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 32 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family with patience Why In Rescue: Texas Transfer Profile:     Magical Sapphire came to us from our Texas rescue partner where she was waiting for a rescue for months.  She is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but she deserved a chance at life and her time was up in Texas.  She spent most of her time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to her.  She does alert bark to people she doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but she is a great dog who just needs a chance! What the caretakers have to say about Sapphire:  Sapphire is an elegant dog with a great independent personality.  Despite her nature of being cautious and timid with unknown people, she is friendly and really enjoys spending time the the people she knows.  She is leash trained and likes walks but needs encouragement and reassurance if the weather isn't nice.  Sapphire gets along with other dogs and often spends time outside with her canine friends.  She is an energetic dog, but she also likes to have her rest time.  Some additional training is recommended to help her adjust to a new environment.  This affectionate and playful girl is hoping she will find a home soon.  Don't delay in filling out the pre-adoption application so you can meet one of these cute dogs! If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to.  We do put the needs of each particular dog first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a specific dog isn't suitable for your home or living situation. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 7, 2026, 6:42 pm
