Took him from previous owner that passed away. He is a one man dog. Needs someone to spend lots of time with. He is 1 year and 3 months old. Hes got some training. He was very traumatized after his owner passed so takes time to build trust with him. He is pretty scared dog. He is very loving once we gets to know you.

Story
Tails is a double merle aussie which happens when people do not breed responsibly. Tails is deaf & blind but this doesn't slow him down from being a typical puppy. He loves to play with other pups, doesn't mind cats, and does well with kids. Tails does well leash walking with a harness. He would thrive in a home in which someone is able to give him a set routine but will also not hold him back because of his special needs. He can and should have a life just like any other dog. If you are interested in adopting Tails, please complete an adoption application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHRA/Dog

Story
A friend of ours found this sweet boy wandering the streets as a puppy in Theodore, Alabama. We brought him into our family about a year ago, and he has been an incredible companion ever since. He’s smart, loyal, and undeniably handsome—a truly awesome dog with so much love to give. He’s got a vibrant energy and a zest for life that makes him a joy to be around. Whether it’s playing in the yard, going for walks, or learning new tricks, he’s always ready to engage and impress. However, his high energy needs a home where he can thrive with plenty of activity and attention. Unfortunately, with my busy schedule, I can’t provide the time and care he truly deserves. It’s a tough decision, but I want to find him a home where he can get the love, activity, and focus that match his incredible personality, we’re hoping to find him a home where he’ll be cherished forever.

Story
UPDATE!! Our sweet little Double Merle Babies have arrived and settled in. They are purebred Aussie and do have docked tails. Sadly, Odie has very limited vision of any at all — Ollie likely has some vision impairment but he can see and navigates well. Both boys we do believe can hear atleast fo some extent— again Ollie likely more than Odie. Their condition could have totally been prevented but not breeding two Merles but frankly people just don’t care about the animal just about the profit and that’s how these two came into our care. They were 6 weeks old 4/23/25. They have received their first vaccines and are going through a round of dewormer. Despite their disabilities they get around well. Odie definitely will cry and let you know if he feels lost but he uses that little sniffer and will sniff you out quick. These boys will be adoption ready at 9 weeks old after their second round of vaccines and they are altered. We are looking for experienced owners who have dealt with double Merles, the Aussie breed and vision and hearing impaired dogs. While they are extra cute we will be extra particular on where they go and make sure they are setup for the best life possible. We are taking applications on these beauties now.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
UPDATE!! Meet Kujo! This boy came to us from our local county shelter. He’s an adorable Aussie mix. He’s around 2 years and 35 lbs. He was a little timid at the shelter when he first arrived but has turned into a total lovebug at his foster home. He’s still a little timid in new situations but does open up quick.. He has settled into foster care and is doing wonderful. He loves cuddles and is good on a leash. He just needs a little patience while adjusting. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!
