Story
Bogie is a 7-month-old male Australian Shepherd mix who must be neutered before adoption.  He came to PAHS as a stray and no owner claimed him.  Bogie has a medium length coat that is one of the most unusual coats we have ever seen.  It is a mixture of brown, white, and black--his coat is gorgeous!  Bogie has no tail--not even a bit of a tail.  He weighs 43 pounds so he is a medium sized adult dog.  Bogie would be good with children.  However, if you have another dog we would required you bring your dog out for a meet & greet with Bogie.  Bogie is a great dog--he is smart and friendly.  He is also quite a good looking guy!  Come meet him soon!Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  April 23, 2026, 9:36 pm

Story
We are very sad to do this but she is not happy in our home. We would prefer for her to go to a home with a fenced in backyard so she can run around. She absolutely loves being outside and play with toys outside. She has never been around cats so I don’t know how she will do. She does good with dogs if there is a slow introduction. She is timid with new people but she will warm up the longer and more frequent she sees you. She knows the word get in (her place) wait (by the door) sit and go potty. She also knows the word slowdown when she starts to walk to fast. She does well on a leash to go for walks. She needs a home with someone/family who is very active. She is 2 years old. We are rehoming her not due to busy schedule but due to she needs a way more active family and we can’t provide that for her. Feel free to send me a message to ask me any questions you might have about her. Also I will be contacting you for a meetup if you submit an application. Want to make sure it’s a good fit

This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe.
