Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.Dobby is an 1-year-old male Aussie/Great Pyrenees who must be neutered before adoption.  He was brought in as a stray by Animal Control; and his owner never came looking for him.  Dobby has a beautiful long white coat with some brownish red markings--he has the coat of a diva!  He weighs 60 pounds so he is a large dog.  Dobby is quite the character and full of energy.  He would need a securely fenced yard where he could romp and get some energy out.  Dobby would be good with older children (due to his energy level).  He is a bit 'dog selective'.  If you are interested in giving Dobby a home and you have another dog--a meet and greet with your dog would be required before adoption.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****May 16, 2026, 4:10 pm

Story
Rocket is a 54 lb Australian Shepherd looking for a loving forever home. He is high-energy, very intelligent, and extremely trainable. Rocket would thrive with an active family that has a yard and children who can give him the time, attention, and play he deserves. He is fully vaccinated and neutered.I am rehoming Rocket because I currently live in an apartment and work long hours, and I cannot provide the space, activity, and affection that matches his energy level and needs. I want to find him a stable, loving home where he can truly thrive.

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad.
