Story
Australian Shepherd mix, femaleWelcome Molly!  Her beauty is unmatched and her spirit even lovelier. She doesn’t know a stranger and touch is her love language.  Her fosters  have taken some time to get to know her and here is what they have to report: Molly is 100% sweetheart. She loves her people to the Nth degree. Scratch that, she loves ALL people to the Nth degree. Arguably maybe too much sometimes. If you get down on the ground, you will have a dog right up in your face, and if you're not careful you're tripping on her. She's moderately treat motivated, but 100% affection motivated when it comes to training. She responds really well to gentle correction. Her paperwork says she's 1 Y, 40lbs but she acts like a big puppy. She's a little ornery, and very bouncy and goofy. She must have at least 10 lbs of 1980's crimped fur in that curled up tail alone. She’s working on leash and house manners and picking things up quickly. She’s bunked up with a few cats and the verdict is still out there as to whether or not we can say she’s bombproof with them. Doesn’t chase the indoor cat but outdoors it’s game on and by that we think she’s just trying to play. She curious and cautious around livestock and managed to be quite helpful to her foster dad in rounding up a stray cow. Molly is located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. She appears to be an Australian shepherd mix. Story
Aussie mix, femaleChica is a 4-yr old, 59 lbs. Aussie mix, probably with German Shepherd. She came in from Kern County. No room there for a big girl.  She's absolutely lovely with my dogs. And went without saying, she's very respectful of people. Gentle too. Doesn't jump, very nice on leash.  Chica needed some exercise and attention.  She's got a routine. She knows where she's eating, sleeping, walking. She hasn’t been on an off leash walk yet, but you can tell it's imminent. It's just that she didn't know this name. But she sees the whistle brings everyone. So we're doing long line recall with the whistle on our walks. She's doing great!  Chica is spayed, chipped, and up to date on vaccines. Chica is in Templeton. More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Story
Watson; Mini Red Merle Australian Shepherd (Purebred)** Watson is a very affectionate and loyal dog. He is a purebred mini red Merle Australian Shepherd with a ton of love to give. He thrives at the beach. At home, Watson becomes very protective of both the house and our 9-year-old son. Because of this, we are unable to have people over, and it has become difficult to host other children. As hard as it is for our family, we have made the decision to rehome him so our son can have friends visit safely. Watson would do best in a home **without children or other dogs**, with someone who understands his protective nature and can give him the structure and environment he needs. He truly is a loving companion. We are looking for someone local who will allow us to see him.

These pups are in Paso Robles, California too!

Story
Molly was born on September 11, 2024. We adopted her from a family in Clovis, CA. when she was 12 weeks old. Molly is sweet, and very playful. Molly has been spayed by Woods in Atascadero, CA. We are looking for a loving family for Molly, she needs more attention than we are able to give to her as we both have demanding full-time jobs. Molly would be wonderful with children, she loves to play and would be ideal for a family who has time to dedicate to her, walks, runs, etc. Molly is very smart she can sit on demand.

Story
Border Collie/Aussie mix femaleWelcome Mae! Mae is a Border Collie/ Aussie / kelpie mix. She was intentionally bred by some ranchers and then kicked to the curb at a very young age because she didn’t show working potential. Some former CCHDR adopters got wind of this and took her in temporarily - got her spayed, up to date on vaccines, and then reached out to us for help with placement. Mae is super sweet and friendly with people, kids, and other dogs. NO cats, chickens, or livestock. She’s HIGH energy and intelligent…all the things you’d expect from a dog of this breed makeup. She’s young too - only 9 months old, 30-35lbs. She’s got some manners and basic obedience to learn, but has her wits about her. She just needs a dedicated and training-focused handler to make up for lost time. She is crate trained. Mae is looking to be someone’s pet. She will need an active, breed-savvy home to keep up with her mentally and physically. Do you have what it takes to keep a dog of this caliber fulfilled? If so, send us an application. Located in Templeton, CA   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Story
Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix female puppyWelcome Evie from Visalia Animal Services. Evie is a 1 year old, 56lb, border collie / Great Pyrenees mix. From what we can tell so far, she’s a doll.  She’s ready to roll. This girl is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. She must have been someone’s dog; she seems to know a few commands. Stay tuned as we get to know her or just get an app in. Dogs like this don’t stay here long.
