Story
Jimmy is a 45 lb, 5 year old, active affectionate dog. Loves long walks and romps in off -leash areas. He is housebroken, crate trained, chipped and current on shots. We've had him for about a year but are no longer able to give him the exercise he needs and enjoys, due to our own health challenges. He is very territorial about our yard and will bark at strangers approaching the house, but he is friendly with new people on neutral turf. He currently goes to daycare 2 days a week and gets along well with the dogs there. He does not get along well with our cats. After a year he still tries to herd or chase the cats. Jimmy needs a new home, with active people or another dog but no cats.

Story
Meet Lacey in MIlton! A 10-month-old female, black tri, Australian Shepherd. She is Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. On Interceptor Plus heartworm preventative. Lacey is searching for her special person to help her shine. She will need a patient and dedicated owner to bring out her best qualities. Although Lacey is incredibly shy and is unsure of new people and surroundings, she is the sweetest and most lovable dog on the planet! She loves to snuggle and lay right up next to you. She will be your most loyal companion. Lacey’s ideal home would have a canine buddy to help give her confidence and a fenced yard (mandatory) to run and play. She even likes cats. A quiet home with no small children would be best at first as she has not been around children. She will need more socialization in different environments to encourage her to conquer her shyness. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, just unsure of new situations and people. Lacey is house trained, although she is still a puppy and can whittle a little if scared and has had too much water after playing with her buddies. She currently lives with two dogs and a cat along with her two humans, to which she is very attached. She is crated only when no one is home as she cries a lot in her crate. She would do well if her humans were home with her most of the day. Lacey would benefit from more leash time as she was initially afraid of being on a leash, so more walks will help boost her confidence. Lacey is truly a special puppy with a lot of love to give. Her foster will have a hard time giving her up! If Lacey sounds like the perfect partner for you, please start the adoption process today to give Lacey her furever home. Currently located in Milton, DE. Multiple meet and greets may be needed, so please keep distance in mind when applying for her. Breed experience is a plus. Time, patience and love are mandatory requirements for Lacey! (Lacey is a sibling to ASF Toby, currently being fostered in VA.) Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Intake date 13 July 2024 . 2ish year old, black tri neutered male aussie, intake weight 45lbs . Brock has been with us for a week or so, and while he has a lovely temperament, he is shy to the extreme. He will need folks who will put time into building trust, utilizing a leash and longline, and time. Brock loves other dogs, and will need some friendly pups in his new home. He is unknown with cats, though he had the opportunity to chase and he ignored. He reminds me quite a bit of an aussie we had here a couple of years ago, who has turned into the loveliest companion for his adopter. Sometimes the roughest edges take a little bit of sanding to show the beauty hiding. . Brock is crate trained and walks well on leash. Anyone interested in adopting Brock should be prepared to take him to classes and provide lots of passive socialization. . This dog is located in Maryland - we do not ship or transport dogs. For information on adoption, an FAQ, and our application, please see our website at mabcr.org. If you are interested in adoption, please submit an application, complete with documentation. . Dogs that have not lived previously with children will not be offered to homes where young children reside. We do not `test` dogs with children or cats, since testing here will not show an accurate picture, and may give potential adopters false comfort. If a dog has lived with children or cats, that will be stated above. We do not place dogs as ESA, nor will we place a dog as hypo-allergenic. Applicants interested in adoption of a potential service dog must be working with an experienced trainer. . Please note that some young dogs may be placed with an alter deposit and contract, and any available dog of any age may be placed with a training deposit and contract -- this would be noted on offer, prior to placement. For additional information on these policies, please see our website. . Questions about dogs are generally not answered here due to lack of staffing. All available dogs may not be listed on our website due to time constraints and does not effect a specific dog`s availability. Additional information and photos will be posted here as time permits.

Please contact Marilyn at 856-275-6905 for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com&#226&#128&#139 Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 June 12, 2025, 10:11 am
