Hi, I’m Laya. I am a 10 year old rescue dog who has spent way too much time at Humane Society. I am looking for a forever home. I may not be very photogenic, I am adorable in person. I know this because a nice lady named Anne has been taking care of me and she tells me this every day. Here is what else she says about me: “Laya is a people-pleaser. She is quiet, responsive to commands, easy to have around, loving and grateful for your care. While she can be a bit of a couch potato indoors, she is always ready to go outside. Bring out the leash and she jumps for joy. Laya knows the rules of living in a home. She doesn’t jump up on people or furniture, she only pees and poops outside. She doesn’t chew things or beg for food. She likes to be an only animal companion. Laya is great with people and kids. I have come to love Laya in the short time she has been with me. I wish I could keep her. It will make me sad to take her back to the kennel.

Pumpkin (mini aussie) is the sweetest, cuddliest, velcro dog someone could ever ask for. She is the best companion to have for someone who works from home or is retired. She does ok with other dog cats but really is more of a human dog. She gets along with smaller or older female dogs the best. Shes OK with kids as long as they dont overstimulate her. She does get reactive to new men and will nip their heels, She never had an issue with my husband or brothers but shes very protective with female family members. She loves food and snacks but she loves walks in the park or quiet areas and is good at the beach. She loves going out for adventure but is anxious in the car. She is very calm for her breed. She is OK off leash (except if she sees a guy) but she will stay close, she wont run off. She loves to sunbathe & can sit outside for hours. She hates thunderstorms and loud noises but loves to snuggle.

Story

It is bittersweet to come to terms with having to find her a new home. We simply do not have the time to dedicate to her. We have three children 6 and under. The youngest is not even a year old yet. We live a very busy lifestyle and work long hours during the week, and commute quite a bit as well. We are just looking for someone/a family that can give her the time and life she deserves. She’s is intensely sweet and has tons of energy. A large yard is ideal and because of her energy I would also suggest maybe older children, if any.
