Shelter notes are all the information we have. She deserves the chance to feel safe again. Cece is a 10-year-old, 42 lb female who was owner surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her and her siblings, all under socialized. It appears Cece and her siblings lived a very sheltered life prior to arriving at the shelter and had never been walked on a leash. Since intake, she has been extremely shut down and overwhelmed by the shelter environment. Cece is very fearful and will often freeze in place, tremble, and avoid eye contact when approached. She does not currently walk on leash and sometimes needs to be gently carried or assisted between kennel spaces. Despite her fear, Cece remains very tolerant and gentle. She allows staff to handle her, leash her, and pet her without resistance or aggression. When given time in a quiet office with familiar dogs from her previous home, Cece chooses to lay close beside them and begins to relax. She clearly finds comfort in calm canine companionship. Today she appears a little less shaky and has been resting peacefully, which gives us hope that as she decompresses we may begin to see more of her personality emerge. Cece is a sensitive senior who desperately needs a quiet, patient home or rescue where she can decompress and slowly build confidence.

Marshmallow A2510465 is a 10-year-old, 39 lb spayed female who is heartworm negative and was owner surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She appears to have lived a very sheltered life prior to arriving at the shelter and had never been walked on a leash. Since intake, Marshmallow has been extremely fearful and overwhelmed by the shelter environment. When approached she will retreat to the back of her kennel, freeze, or “pancake” to the floor. She often needs to be gently carried when being moved and shows signs of stress such as a tense body and whale eye. Despite her fear, Marshmallow has remained tolerant of handling, medical care, and restraint without attempting to bite or show aggression. Marshmallow is a very sensitive senior who seems deeply frightened by the busy shelter setting but has shown that she will tolerate gentle interaction and petting once she realizes she is not being forced. Marshmallow likes to do her own thing away from the other pups she came in with. She would benefit greatly from a patient rescue that can provide a calm, quiet environment where she can decompress at her own pace. With time, patience, and compassionate guidance, Marshmallow has the potential to gain confidence and finally experience the safety and stability she has likely never known.

Nala is a super sweet dog, she is energetic, goofy, playful, yet gentle when it matters. Unfortunately we got her when we were younger and had more free time. As we have aged and grown our family she has spent more time crated and outside than we would like her to. As much as it breaks my heart to rehome her, she deserves more love and interaction than our schedules allow. We've had her with other dogs, children, and even cats. She did great with all of them, however the cats she hasn't been around in several years. I assume she'd still be great with proper introduction. Our goal is to find a safe and loving home for our sweet girl! Thank you for your time.
