Story
Percy is a great dog. He is very well trained, knows place commands, sits, down, stay, and is crate trained. He is very hyper and needs a good amount of space to run and play. He is great with other dogs and would do amazing with a parent who could provide a lot of attention and play time. Unfortunately, my living situation is not ideal for him, and we want to provide him with the best life possible.

Story
Meet Sulley! A sweet five-year-old Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Fairview, NC, whose affectionate spirit and golden coat with white accents are matched by a brilliant herding-dog mind and an irresistible love of snuggling. At 55 pounds, Sulley considers himself perfectly lap-sized and is happiest curled up beside his favorite person on the couch! This intelligent boy enjoys sniffing adventures, especially after the rain, working on chew toys like Kongs, running in a securely fenced yard, and soaking up affection. His seemingly constant smile makes his cuddly personality even more endearing! Sulley has completed professional training and a behaviorist evaluation. He knows sit, stay, place, drop, and leave it, and he generally handles short periods alone well. Predictable routines, mental enrichment, exercise, quiet time, and continued positive reinforcement help this clever companion feel secure. Sulley experiences significant anxiety and dog reactivity. Other dogs, loud or unexplained noises, bicycles, large trucks, and wildlife can trigger barking, growling, lunging, darting, or nipping. He has bitten another dog and, approximately 4.5 years ago, redirected a bite toward his guardian during an intervention involving another dog and a toy. No medical care was needed. Sulley is possessive of toys so thoughtful management is essential. Sulley needs an adult-only home with no dogs, cats, or other pets. His future pet parent should have experience with anxious, reactive dogs, be comfortable handling a strong dog, spend considerable time at home, and provide a securely fenced setting away from busy roads and frequent dog or bicycle traffic. He must not be crated and can experience motion sickness on longer drives. Healthy overall, neutered, house-trained, microchipped, and current on vaccinations, Sulley requires medication to manage anxiety: Clomipramine every 12 hours, daily Gabapentin, and Trazodone for high-anxiety events. Continuing his veterinary and behavioral care is important. For the right person, Sulley offers intelligence, loyalty, laughter, couch cuddles, rainy-day sniffing, and the special connection of being someone’s one-and-only companion. Could this smiling, snuggly boy be the companion you have been hoping to welcome home? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Sulley! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Story
The more time Crystal spends in her foster home, the more we learn about this quirky little girl and what her perfect forever home will look like! 😂❤️ Crystal is currently around 17½ lbs and gaining back the weight she lost. She's still a very picky eater, but she's eating a healthy diet of dry food with homemade fresh farm turkey and meal toppers. And when it comes to treats... apparently freeze-dried beef liver is the only acceptable option. 😂 Her personality is really starting to shine! Crystal has a moderate activity level, loves to swim, plays tug with rope toys, nuzzles her stuffed lamb, and enjoys playing with her foster doggy siblings. Toys are no longer an issue for her at all! 👏 She has a silky, medium-length coat and has been shedding very little in her foster home. Crystal is also a smart girl! 🧠 She knows sit, stay, down, and "go to bed," is working on paw, and is learning to wait at the door before going outside. Potty training is still a work in progress... apparently going outside and then pooping in foster mom's office 30 minutes later seemed like a perfectly reasonable decision to Crystal. 🤦‍♀️😂 She does great when adult visitors come into the home! Her foster family simply asks everyone to ignore her and allow her to approach on her own terms. No barking or drama—she settles in beautifully. ❤️ After spending more time observing Crystal around children, we have decided that an adult-only home will be best for her. She is still learning boundaries and building confidence, and we want to set both Crystal and her future family up for success. Crystal is dog friendly, not cat friendly, and not suited for a home with livestock. She is still working on food resource guarding, but her foster family continues to work with her using positive reinforcement and management. And we can't forget Crystal's strangest new hobby... 😂 She sometimes runs up, wraps BOTH front paws around your leg, and lets her back end drag while you walk! Apparently Crystal thinks she's a cat. 🤷‍♀️🐈😂 For that reason, she needs a family steady on their feet who can handle her goofy antics! Crystal has come SO FAR, and every day we're learning more about the smart, playful, affectionate, and slightly weird little dog hiding underneath all that fear. 🩷 She's not the right dog for every home—but we know her perfect person is out there. 🐾 Crystal is available for adoption! Story
Roo is a classic border collie–Aussie mix who joined our family at one year old. He’s a wonderful, well‑trained boy with a big heart. Due to a major life change, we’re moving into a small apartment, and Roo would truly thrive in a home with more space or a yard to run in.He loves chasing balls, swimming, playing with toys, and snuggling. He once tried herding sheep but quickly decided that eating sheep poop was far more exciting! He turns six on September 11th. Roo is an all‑around great dog who wants an active home where he can run, play, and be loved.Roo has lived comfortably in a multi‑dog household and gets along very well with other dogs. He’s lived with a cat too, though he still feels tempted to chase it. He’s also a great running partner and is trained to run two miles. If you can offer Roo a forever home filled with love, activity, and attention, he’ll give you endless loyalty and companionship in return.

Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Ralphie’s story is one that breaks your heart a little. At just one year old, this handsome Australian Kelpie mix has already learned what it feels like to find a home and then lose it. Ralphie was adopted from our shelter, but through absolutely no fault of his own, he was returned because the family’s son didn’t like that Ralphie wasn’t like the dog they had loved and lost. But Ralphie isn’t supposed to be that dog. He’s supposed to be Ralphie, and this sweet pup has so much to offer. Ralphie loves people, although he may need a little time to warm up and feel comfortable with someone new. Once he does, you’ll see what a wonderful boy he really is. He also enjoys the company of cats, although he sometimes forgets that cats aren’t dogs and may try to engage them in a little playtime. A confident, playful cat might think that’s fantastic. This energetic boy loves to run, so a home with a nice, securely fenced yard would be a dream come true. But what Ralphie needs most isn’t simply a big yard. He needs patience, understanding and someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace.Imagine being Ralphie. You found a family. You thought you were home. Then, suddenly, you were back at the shelter wondering what happened. He deserves the chance to feel safe again, to learn that this time, when he walks through his new front door, he isn’t leaving (except for walks and adventures, of course.) Ralphie may not be the dog someone lost. He may not be the dog someone expected. But he could be the dog who becomes someone’s once in a lifetime companion. All Ralphie is asking for is a little time, a little patience and a family who will promise him one very important thing. This time, you’re home. And this time, it’s forever.
