Story
Lucy is a sweet little dog who would do great in a home with older kids, over 14 or adults only. Lucy is a high energy, herding dog who has natural instincts to herd young children and in the process may nip at them. Lucy is a total lap dog who loves to be with her person! Lucy is more fond of women, but warms up to men as well. Lucy loves to give hugs and jump into your arms! Lucy enjoys going for runs and even went with a foster for 3 miles! Lucy will need someone who will be willing to keep up with her beautiful coat at a groomer. Lucy is crate and mostly potty trained. She will catch on quickly once she knows the routine. Lucy's ideal home would be someone who works from home or can take her to the office for the day. Lucy does well with cats and dogs her size or smaller. Lucy can be ornery and pick on larger dogs which can get her into trouble. Lucy can be vocal at times.

Story
Hi, I'm Trapper Boi! I was brought to PVCHS with a bunch of other dogs due to a hoarding case. I love to play with tennis balls and can almost always be found carrying one (or two) around. I will play fetch all day every day. I prefer to be the only dog in the home. Please consider visiting me at the shelter! Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fees for dogs over 5 months range from $50-$175. Puppies under 5 months are $175.00. Dog adoption fees include a microchip. The adoption fee includes the animal's surgery, vaccinations, flea preventative, deworming medication, sample bag of food/treat samples and a free first exam with participating veterinarians. Shelter policy and 2018 Indiana state law decrees all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter. Our shelter is open to the public on Monday- Saturday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm EST with the exception of Wednesdays on which we typically open by 1:00 pm. Story
Please read entire description. Bear's adoption fee is $175. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.    Bear is nearly 4 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is an Australian Shepherd looking for a new home. Bear has grown up around kids and has always lived with a dog buddy (Molly, also up for adoption.) He has never been around cats.   Bear has had some limited experience inside a house and has primarily been outside in recent months. His owner reports no problems when he has been inside. We have no doubt he would adjust to life in the house and want that for him. We feel a fenced in yard would be crucial for this boy. Bear knows a few commands, but tends to jump up when excited. Bear loves splashing in a kiddie pool and chasing bubbles in the summer. Bear is a very friendly boy and has been a very good companion.   Bear will need one grooming appointment and one vet appointment to be fully brought up to date and included in his adoption fee of $175. Upon adoption. Bear is neutered and will be up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing, and a microchip. If interested, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. One application works for all of our dogs. ##1961303##

Story
Cooper is an almost 4 year old Australian Shepherd. He is a loving dog to his people and “sibling” dog. He typically does well with new people, but I would suggest supervision around small children due to his high energy level. Coop hasn’t always done well with other dogs so I avoid interactions with stranger dogs and recommend a home with no other animals. He has been primarily an outside dog who sleeps in a crate inside. When he’s been loose inside the house, he doesn’t have accidents. Cooper is a cuddly, sweet boy who loves sitting on your lap and getting belly rubs. He also likes to swim. Ideally, he would go to a family with property for him to run and/ or a home with a sturdy, tall fence. He will come with a crate, platform bed, collar, leash, harness, brush, poop bags + holder, and dog water bottle.

Story
Toby is a sweet and playful Australian shepherd saved from a kill shelter. He loves playing with other dogs and needs a home that has a playmate for him. Toby also needs an owner with an active lifestyle who can help him get all his energy out everyday and also requires a home with a fenced in backyard! Here's the truth of it: Toby has a bite history. Toby will be very loyal and friendly to his family he knows but he WILL display protective behaviors when visitors come over and if not crated or kept on leash will bite them. We are looking for an adopter who has experience with dogs and of course no small children in the home.April 23, 2024, 9:08 am
