One of our gorgeous detective puppies, Cagney is clever, fun, and just so pretty! This Australian shepherd is always ready to give you lots of kisses and she really, really loves to play! She’ll get the zoomies and race around the house and yard, but she can always entertain herself – gnawing on chew toys or attacking squeaky toys or just being near you. She loves attention and is so happy when she gets it! Cagney has some vision and hearing issues. But she can see hand signals and respond to your voice. She’s very bright and is figuring out “sit” and “off” and learning to walk on a leash. She’s working on potty training and crate training. She will do her business outside but is quick to use a puppy pad inside if she can’t wait. Cagney would love a home with a friendly pup who can match her energy and challenge her to a raucous game of tug of war. But she’d also be fine as an only pup, soaking up all the attention.Cagney absolutely loves all toys – whether they’re yummy flavored puppy chew bones or plush toys that she can whip around with glee. Cagney would prefer an active home where she can get loads of attention and playtime. She’d prefer a physical, fenced yard so she can have safe adventures. She’d love someone who is home much of the day. Cagney is incredibly sweet. She truly wants love, she's motivated to learn, and will make such an amazing family member. Freckles now called Soma is fostered in Columbia, MO This incredibly gorgeous boy is a red merle male Australian Shepherd, approximately 3 years of age, weighing 50 lbs. He was turned over to rescue because he was chasing and killing chickens. Soma is INCREDIBLY sweet and has done well in his foster home where he is slowly building confidence and learning commands and house manners. He will need continued socialization at a slower pace. He is a HUGE lap dog and loves to cuddle. Soma is excellent on leash and knows a few commands: Sit, Come (recall), stay. He does great in the car and does well with brushing and grooming. He would sit for hours for it. Soma is crate trained and house trained. He has visited the dog park and definitely enjoys a great game of chase. Soma is incredibly handsome, but unfortunately he was not socialized much at an early age. All he knew was farm life so he is still quite shy of humans, so it takes him a minute to warm up to them. For this reason, we feel he would be best with a home with children over 10-12 years of age. Soma would do best with a fenced yard. He also would do great with a more submissive other dog in the home. He can absolutely be an only dog too. He previously killed chickens when left to his own devices, so we don't recommend small critters in his adoptive home. He would be best in a home with children over 10 years of age. Soma is such a stunner! Photos don't do him justice. If you're looking for a loyal companion, please consider this gorgeous redhead. Soma is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. Ruby is being fostered in Portage MI Meet Ruby! Ruby is a stunning Blue Merle Aussie mix with a full-length tail and a fluffy coat to match her beauty. But beyond her gorgeous looks, she LOVES every human she meets!!!! Her date of birth is 11/1/2024 and she weighs 33lbs. Ruby is crate trained, house trained, has great house manners. She would LOVE to be the one and only in her home. Her foster mom takes her to a nursing home and lots of outdoor adventures which she absolutely loves to do. This sweet girl needs a loving adopter who will continue her training. She would LOVE to take some obedience classes, tricks classes or something to get her little brain going. Ruby would like a strong leader in her home, or she will lead and sometimes an Aussie left to their own devices can make poor choices. She is highly food and praise motivated. She will thrive with someone who embraces her quirks and continues helping her build confidence and uses positive reinfocrment training to teach her expectations. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for her but isn't necessary if she has an outlet for her energy: like a dog sport. She’d do best in a home with children over 10 years old. If you’re ready to give Ruby the home she deserves, she’ll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love. Could she be your perfect match? If you have never had an Aussie or a working dog before, we recommend doing a little research before committing to this high energy working breed!
