Arlo — Dressed to Impress! Meet Arlo, a handsome Australian Shepherd with a rich reddish-brown coat, captivating crystal-blue eyes, and a look all his own. Technically, Arlo is what you might call a red bi, since he doesn’t have the typical Aussie tan points. We think he has something even better—he looks like he’s dressed for a wedding! His beautiful white chest resembles a crisp tuxedo shirt, and his white toes look just like little spats. This dapper boy is definitely dressed to impress! Arlo is 2 years of age, weighing approximately 50 years of age.
Arlo came to us from a loving home and is a healthy, happy boy who is ready for his next adventure. True to his Aussie heritage, he is energetic, curious, and always interested in what’s happening around him. If you’re doing something, Arlo would like to know about it and preferably be part of it! He is an enthusiastic companion who loves being with his people, but he also knows how to take a hint. If you’re busy, he is perfectly happy to entertain himself.
Playtime is one of Arlo’s favorite things, and his Frisbee is his absolute favorite! He could happily spend the entire day playing with you if you let him. With his energy, intelligence, and eagerness to engage, Arlo would be an excellent candidate for agility or other fun activities that give an Aussie both physical and mental exercise.
Arlo also loves other dogs. He has become fast friends with his foster family’s young Aussie, and the two enjoy playing together. There is one important consideration in a multi-dog household: Arlo can be protective of his food and bowl. For this reason, it's best if he is fed separately (in his crate) from other dogs or under supervision to ensure peacefulness.
When it comes to manners, Arlo is a star! He is fully house trained, responds to commands, and walks beautifully on leash. He enjoys his neighborhood strolls and, amusingly, he is not a squirrel chaser, but introduce him to a sprinkler and you’ll discover an entirely different kind of entertainment! Arlo absolutely loves drinking from and playing in sprinklers, and watching this handsome, dignified Aussie turn into a sprinkler enthusiast is a hilarious sight to behold.
We have not had children living in the home while Arlo has been with us, but he has calmly walked past children on neighborhood sidewalks without concern. Because of his playful, energetic nature, however, he may see running young children as an invitation to join the fun. A home with children over 12 is recommended. Also, cats are a no-go in his home.
For all of his daytime energy, Arlo knows when the day is done. When bedtime arrives, this energetic boy happily settles in and loves sleeping with—and even on—his person. He is an affectionate dog who appears to form a particularly strong bond with one person. His ideal human will appreciate having a loyal companion who wants to be close and be part of everyday life.
Arlo is a fun-loving, affectionate, intelligent Aussie who has plenty of energy, plenty of personality, and a whole lot of love to give. He will thrive with someone who understands the typical Aussie lifestyle and is ready to provide him with activity, play, companionship, and continued engagement. In return, they’ll get a handsome, blue-eyed best friend who is always ready for the next adventure—and who looks pretty darn good doing it!

Arlo is ready to trade his foster home for his very own forever home. He’s got the tuxedo shirt, the spats, the crystal-blue eyes, and the Aussie personality—now he just needs someone who is ready to dance through life with this handsome boy!
Arlo is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.
