Story
Stella is a friendly and intelligent dog with plenty of energy. We want her to be happy and have a space where she can run around and play with other dogs. Previously, Stella lived in the mountains of Colorado, where she enjoyed a large fenced yard and had lots of friends to play with. Now, she is living in a townhouse without a yard, which has been challenging for her. As a very active young lady, she is currently feeling unhappy. Stella is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Husky, German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever, and she is expected to weigh around 30 pounds. She is a loving and eager-to-learn dog who picks up new skills quickly. Stella would be an amazing agility dog, as this would engage both her mind and her need for physical activity. If agility training isn't your interest, she would also thrive in an active lifestyle with an avid walker, hiker, or runner.  Stella is a very quick learner and was immediately fully potty trained.     To ensure the best for Stella, her new owners should have a yard or live on a farm, and it would be great if they have another dog and children.  Stella has plenty of energy to add playing at home to her list of activities.    Stella has been spayed and is current on all her shots until May 2026.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Stella is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  July 30, 2025, 9:47 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Zara! I am a beautiful gray and white 3-year-old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix. While ladies typically don’t disclose their weight, I am about 50 lbs. If you are a smart and active person or couple looking to adopt a dog with a similar temperament, then we could be a great match! I love going for walks and would appreciate having someone who can incorporate that into my daily routine. Getting outside for exercise is something I enjoy, and I would also make an excellent running companion. Visiting the park or going on hikes would be a lot of fun, too! Not to brag, but I believe I'm quite a looker, and I’m confident that if you took me to the park, we would make lots of friends together. While I love people, I am not used to being around other dogs, so a dog park wouldn’t be suitable for me. However, I’m always up for hanging out where the people are! I’m also a bit too energetic for young children; I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than they are and might accidentally knock them over. It would be wonderful if someone in the household could work from home, as I am crate-trained but don't like spending long hours alone. I thrive on human interaction and am seeking a loving home.  I promise to return your love! If you would like to be considered for my forever family, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. Please note that an approved application and adoption fee are required. (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)    July 30, 2025, 9:47 pm

Story
Near Portland: This handsome boy is Brody. Just look at those amazing eyes! They will make you fall in love with him. He knows his basic obedience (sit, down, stay, place, leash walking), is crate trained, and is also working on muzzle training! He is around 7-8 years old and is mostly an Aussie/lab mix. He is neutered and current on his immunizations. Brody is a smart, loving, and affectionate dog who enjoys learning, adventuring, hiking, running, and exploring the outdoors. He is looking for a home, preferably with someone who is active, and would do best in a home without young children. He would thrive as the only dog in the home due to some resource guarding issues around other dogs. When it comes to chews/bones, he can become extremely possessive, so his future home should be mindful about keeping these things out of his environment entirely to set him up for success. Brody has also been on a carefully monitored diet to help him reach a healthier weight and would benefit from continuing his weight loss journey! (Currently down to 90lbs, and should be 65-70lbs) If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, and adventurous companion, Brody could be the perfect addition to your life. He’s eager to bond with his person and ready to thrive in a home that understands his needs. If you’re interested in giving him a forever home, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application *We are currently fostering him in southern Maine. If you would like to set up a meet and greet with Brody, let us know and we’d be happy to have you meet him! There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
Bodhi is a deeply loyal, intelligent, and affectionate dog who forms a strong bond with his person. In calm, predictable environments, he is attentive, loving, and happiest simply being near those he trusts. He thrives on routine, structure, and clear communication, and when those needs are met, his devoted nature truly shines. One of his favorite things is playing ball outdoors, where he can run, focus, and just be a dog. Bodhi has worked extensively with professional trainers and has received consistent structure and medical support to help manage anxiety. While he has made progress, he does best in a quieter, low-stimulus home with clear expectations and steady daily life. This decision was made with great care, love, and responsibility. Bodhi is not a “project” dog—he is a good dog who needs the right environment to feel safe and succeed. In the right home, with an experienced and patient owner who values calm leadership, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal companion.
