Story
“Otis the Adventurer”  Otis is a handsome 3-year-old Aussie mix with a sweet heart and a curious spirit. We know his mom was an Australian Shepherd, and while Dad remains a mystery, Otis definitely inherited the intelligence and loyalty that make this breed so special. At around 45–50 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion.  Otis is the kind of dog who makes living with a dog easy. He is house trained, well-mannered, and respectful as he lives inside the home—no chewing furniture, stealing food, or getting into trouble. He’s calm for an Aussie, incredibly sweet-natured, and great with kids. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be part of the family and enjoy life alongside his people. He also gets along very well with other dogs, so he would likely thrive in a home with a canine buddy to share adventures with.  Recently after moving from his previous home, he found himself living without a privacy fenced yard.  Otis does have one little quirk—he’s an explorer at heart. If given the opportunity, he’d happily set off to see what the world has to offer! Because of that adventurous streak, a privacy fenced yard is important to keep him safe while he enjoys his outdoor time.  Currently he gets out of the non-privacy fenced yard and it is dangerous for him.  His family is worried but they cannot afford to do the proper fencing that he needs.  So.....they asked Critter Cavalry Rescue to help them find him a safe and secure home with the inescapable fence.        We are just looking for the home that Otis can thrive in safely.  Otis is a well-mannered dog just looking for a home where he can be loved, included, and kept safe while still enjoying the fresh air and sunshine he loves. In return, you’ll get a loyal, gentle, well-behaved companion who will happily spend his days by your side.  We think he is the best choice for a family not wanting a puppy who is in the chewing and puppy antic stage of life.  If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing dog with a little adventurous spirit, Otis may be the perfect match.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Tell us where you live, city and state.  We adopt to Tennessee residents, where our rescue is based and we have a transport company that takes adopted dogs to the northeastern region to adopting families almost every weekend.  Please let us know where you live when asking about Otis.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 8, 2026, 9:04 pm

Story
Margot is a beautiful and charming Aussie mix puppy that was born December 4th to a large litter of 11 siblings. All were cared well by their momma dog and Margot is one of 7 girls and 4 boys who are remarkable puppies with kind souls and good and loving hearts.  Margot has one of those personalities that makes her excited about life and every adventure she can go on.  This girl and her litter were broken in to little groups that would allow each of them to have some real one on one time with a foster.  Margot is in with 3 other siblings in this foursome she is the RINGLEADER.  She keeps the antics going and the laughter resonating in the foster home as the humans watch these puppies play.  Margot loves to steal her siblings toys and generally taunt them.  She is smart and witty and full of crazy ideas to make life 'exciting'.  She would be so well suited with a family that has children who wants a fearless and smart little puppy who has great confidence and personality that goes for miles and miles. Some of her favorite games are tug of war and playing fetch.  Fetch can be so much fun and great exercise for her young and playful mind and body.  A tired puppy is a GOOD PUPPY!  She would truly love to have another dog to play with when her humans are too busy.  Margot is destined to be a soft, long furred beautiful with some amazing eyes and soft features.  When fully grown we predict this beautiful black  girl will most probably be 40-45 pounds.  If you are ready to give her a fenced yard, another companion dog, an active and vibrant family life with good citizens training time and maybe a few children sprinkled in for great fun then email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Mention where you live please.  We are based and fostered in Tennessee but we also have a transport van that goes to the northeast and our dogs and puppies can travel every weekend to new families that are outside of Tennessee.  We welcome local adopters as well.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
It’s hard to imagine how confusing and lonely life must feel in a small, noisy shelter in the middle of nowhere. For six long months, Barbie waited in a tiny kennel in rural New Mexico, not knowing what tomorrow would bring.   Then hope showed up in the most unexpected way.   A kindhearted woman who drives a 40-foot tractor trailer for a living learned about Barbie and her companion Kenny. In the middle of her route, she stopped, loaded them up, and refused to let their story end there. Thanks to her determination — and the helping hands at Critter Cavalry Rescue — Barbie finally got her second chance.   Barbie is a 3-year-old, 46-pound fluffy Border Collie mix with a heart as soft as her coat. At the vet’s office, she won everyone over with her affectionate, gentle nature. She simply wants to be close to her people — soaking up every bit of love she missed while waiting in that shelter run.   After her first grooming, she pranced around like she knew she was beautiful — clean, brushed, and finally feeling special. And she is special.   Barbie does well with other dogs her size, though smaller pups may trigger her “squirrel radar.” Mostly, she just wants a home where she can belong — a person or family to love deeply and faithfully. She will happily learn your routines, follow your lead, and repay you every day with devotion and joy.   Barbie has waited long enough. Now it’s her turn to be someone’s everything.   Interested? Email Ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more.

Story
Gizmo is the very definition of bravery, resilience, and second chances. At just 18 months old and a tiny 10 pounds, this Miniature Aussie mix carries a story far bigger than his size. He is a breathtaking tri-color boy with a fluffy tail and the most unforgettable face — one deep chocolate brown eye and one sparkling blue eye that seems to hold an entire journey inside it. Gizmo came from a heartbreaking situation — over 200 dogs crammed into a tiny home and outdoor kennels by a backyard breeder. He was just a number there. Overlooked. Under-loved. His natural shyness became his shield, keeping him safe but also keeping love at a distance.   But then everything changed.   His foster family patiently worked their way into his guarded little heart, and once he realized he was safe, he opened up in the most beautiful way. While he can still be shy in new environments, with a little patience and kindness he blossoms. And when he trusts you? He is loyal beyond measure. He has chosen the dad in his foster home as “his person,” and he will happily follow him from room to room like the devoted little shadow he is.Gizmo is fully housebroken and an absolute champion on a leash. Like many Australian Shepherds, he is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. He loves being outdoors — soaking up the sunshine in a securely fenced yard or patio and enjoying peaceful walks on a quiet street. A calm home environment would help him thrive. He does wonderfully with dogs and cats of all sizes, but he would also be perfectly content as your one-and-only companion. He’s a quiet little guy who loves his treats, enjoys curling up in his cozy bed to watch TV with his humans, and simply wants to belong.   If you’ve ever wanted to be part of a true rescue “rags to riches” story, Gizmo is waiting. His journey includes a recent miracle that will absolutely amaze you — and we would love to share it with serious adopters. To learn more about this incredible little survivor, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Gizmo is ready for the next chapter of his beautiful life.

Story
Tink’s story didn’t begin the way any young dog’s should — but we believe her best chapter is still waiting to be written very soon now that she is in the care of Critter Cavalry Rescue.  At just two years old, this striking blue-eyed Australian Shepherd girl has already experienced motherhood and heartbreak. She gave birth to a litter of puppies on Thanksgiving Day, nurturing them with devotion. But by Valentine’s weekend, her own world changed. When her owner suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in ICU, Tink was left confined inside a camper for four long days, alone and unsure. It would be understandable if that experience made her fearful or withdrawn. Instead, Tink emerged gentle, loving, and incredibly devoted to people. Currently weighing 38 pounds (and needing about five more to reach her ideal weight), Tink is a petite Aussie with a soft and gentle temperament and a playful streak. She absolutely adores children and has a naturally sweet, careful way about her. She loves playing fetch, going on walks, and burning off her energy in a securely fenced yard — which is a must for this active, intelligent breed.   Tink is mostly housebroken and simply needs the consistency of a routine. She does well in a crate and walks nicely on leash. We are currently evaluating her with other submissive dogs, as a recent attempt to pair her with a strong alpha female was not a good fit — which is understandable after all she’s been through. She may truly shine as the center of someone’s world. Tink has proven she is resilient. She has proven she is loving. Now she just needs someone who will prove to her that she will never be left behind again. If you feel your home might be the safe and steady future this beautiful girl deserves, please email Critter Cavalry at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Tink is ready to begin again — this time, forever.

Story
After a rough start to life, these Aussie mix puppies are thriving in their foster home. They were dumped in rural Mississippi and found by a caring FedEx driver as they huddled on a trash pile on the side of the road. Now they have learned to trust people and love to play and snuggle. They will be ready for forever homes after 3/6. They are located in Memphis, but can be transported to the Midwest, Colorado and the Northeast for an additional fee.
