Story
We adopted Steve July 2022 from a single mother who was struggling financially and could no longer care for him. Steve LOVES to play and chew on toys. He does have a history of resource guarding but can be distracted with treats or squeaky toy. For being 10 years old Steve still acts like a puppy and has a lot of life left in him. Unfortunately since having a baby, other life changes we can no longer give him the care that he needs.

Story
Acquired pet from breeder. Cooper is 5 years old and still very active. I work full time and moved into a condo. Needs walking, training and activity. Very loving to me but can be a bit aggressive when meeting new people. Will nip at their feet but once he's comfortable with them he's okay Below info is from AI search Needs: 1. Daily Structure (most important) Dogs like Cooper need predictable outlets for energy and stress. Ideal weekday routine • Look for a positive-reinforcement trainer experienced with: o Reactivity Often mistaken for aggression • Morning (30–45 min total) o 5–10 min basic training (sit, stay, place, leash walking) • Evening (30–60 min) o Walk + sniffing time (mental work) o Short play session (tug, fetch, flirt pole if allowed) • 👉 Mental stimulation tires dogs out more than physical exercise alone. Nipping at feet often means: • Overstimulation • Anxiety • Herding instinct All of these are very trainable.

Story
A little different. A lot of love in Kalamazoo Polaris is a stunning 8 month old Aussie pup with a story - and a heart - you won’t soon forget. Born as the result of double merle breeding, Polaris is deaf and has very limited vision. When he couldn’t be sold, he was dumped to fend for himself, along with his blind and deaf sister. But he’s since shown that he’s more than anyone expected - resilient, loving, and full of life. Despite his challenges, Polaris is a happy, affectionate pup who’s never met a stranger. He finds comfort being close to his person, especially outside, and will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore by your side. Fun Facts About Polaris *Loves to play inside - especially fetch with his ball! *Occasionally barks at things he can see, but a gentle touch and quick reassurance calms him right down. * Needs the same love, training, and exercise as any Aussie pup - he just does it his way. * Sweet, social, and ready to love big. * He loves to swing with his person on a porch swing. Polaris is looking for a furever home that understands that having special needs doesn’t mean less - just different. He is looking for his best friend; someone to take him with them and keep him by their side. Polaris is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. He currently weighs about 45#. He is housebroken; he has learned to go to the door when he needs to potty. (He will need some time, and patience, to figure out where the door is in his new home.) He is well on his way to being crate trained. He will need work with his leash skills, although he walks well beside his foster mom in the yard. If you think Polarais is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. Polaris is currently located in Kalamazoo, MI.
