Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). Meet Dutchess! This two-year-old aussie/doodle mix is 55 pounds of gentle goodness. She is looking for a loving family who can provide her with a safe and nurturing environment where she can thrive! Dutchess recently had a few days away from the kennel for a "straycation". As you can see by her video, she had a blast hanging with her fellow pup friend! They played very well together and Dutchess had a ball playing fetch in the yard. She also enjoys a nice variety of bones and rope toys. After playtime, Dutchess delights in a nice snuggle on the couch where she will shower you with lots of hugs and kisses. When it comes to food, she has a fondness for frozen green beans and other meaty treats which she takes very gently. Dutchess can be a bit timid to start, but soon after she shows you just how much love she has to give! She has a kind-hearted temperament and has been trained to sit, shake, and walks well on a leash. She is a very capable girl and we know she will make you proud! She will benefit from continued training, daily exercise, and a yard to play in at her new home. An attentive girl, Dutchess will make an excellent companion for one lucky family! She rides well in the car, and is fully house-trained! She will sit by the door to signal when she needs to go outside. She really is the whole package! Dutchess is a devoted gal and would excel in a home where she can be included in daily activities. She will need to go to a home without cats or small animals due to her prey drive. She may have the potential to live with other dog her size.
