Story
Yamaha is a female Aussie mix at best guess. We estimate her birthday to be 10/25/23. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and is on prevention. She gets along with dogs, kids, and cats. She is housetrained and crate trained. She shares toys well with her sister, Yozuri. Yamaha loves to fetch! On the car ride to and from the vet they rode well and slept most of the way. Puppies Yamaha and Yozuri were found when their foster parents were on a walk. The sisters came trotting out of the woods where they had been living in a cardboard box. They quickly acclimated and have been thriving ever since! They are two adorable sisters who love wrestling together, playing with other dogs, and finding sticks and chasing balls in the yard. They snuggle in their crate together, are mostly quiet throughout the day, and mostly sleep well through the night. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We do use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport because they care about their animals on board.

Story
This adorable little Nugget was purchased from a breeder by a young man that became homeless two weeks after getting him. The poor little guy was living is a tiny, dirty pen in the back yard of his dads home. We happened to see him and after a few days we went and knocked on the door offering to rehome the sweet and lonely baby. He is now 7 months old, neutered, microchipped, UTD on all required vaccines and he has been on HW prevention. He will probably be between 25 and 30 lbs when fully grown. Nugget is sweet, playful and very loving. He is an Australian shepherd and this breed requires a lot of mental and physical activity and stimulation. He also loves his snuggle time! If you would like to add this cutie to your forever family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and application. After you send your request, please check your spam folder if you don't see a response.

Story
Meet Shelby! Located in East TN but out of state is welcome and if you’re seeing this in adopt a pet the adoption fee includes the cost of transport and a health certificate required by USDA for transport across state lines. This beauty found herself at the kill shelter. Why??? Well because she was trying to dig her way out of her owners yard. This really stinks because she is an amazing and smart dog. She has not tried to escape our yard although she did slip out of a gate once when I opened it. She doesn’t run she is just nosey. See image is what is called a working breed dog. And if you don’t take the time to train and help them burn off energy they will develop bad habits out of sheer boredom. She needs exercise and mental stimulation so she doesn’t become bored. She seems to be happy with the rescue and like all the other dogs. She likes the routine and she likes to play with toys and will entertain herself a while but that does not mean she doesn’t need you to help her with releasing energy. You can’t just shove her in the back yard and close the door and hope she finds something to do. You have to provide something for her to do. You have to engage with her and train through playing with her. She has been amazing here! She is crate trained and house trained too. She has not chewed anything she shouldn’t she only chews on the rope toys or bones we have for her She has not jumped on counters or tried to get in the trash. We do supervise them though. She sleeps through the night in her crate and will go out to potty. She is ok with most other dogs however she is a bit dominant so another female around same age or temperament would not be good. She is a very confident girl and she is a herding breed. She will join a chase of kids or other dogs are running around and she will herd them. Herding dogs usually nip heals and this is in their genetic make up. This little gem won’t last long so get your applications in at petpath.org We use Rescue Riders for all our pet transport needs because they are awesome with our dogs! They are also a 501(c)(3) non profit. Win win!

Story
Henderson is all Australian shepherd. That means he is very intelligent, silly, and loving. He enjoys the company of his people as well as other dogs. He could play all day if he was able to. He is young, just about a year old. He is currently in foster care in a multiple dog household. He would benefit from someone with a fenced yard so he can run. He knows a few standard tricks, and ready to learn more. He would be great at agility, fly ball, or (if you happen to have a few sheep) herding. He takes a little bit to warm up to you and then he is your best friend! He would do best in a kid free, low traffic household. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Story
Freckles is a female Australian Shepherd mix. She has some fear reactivity issues with unfamiliar people and dogs that she has been working on. She would need a slow introduction if meeting a new dog. Freckles does get along with the other dogs at her foster home. The best fit home for her would be a calm adult only home. Approximate date of birth is 6/22/2014
