Story
Daisy is a very beautiful dog, my 15 year old daughter adopted her 3 years ago. very good with kids we do have a cat who she does not hurt but would like to be friends with but the cat wants nothing to do with her Daisy is very playful really enjoys the winter weathers and the snow my family and I have just become very busy with extracurricular activities and work and school that we feel Daisy would be better off in a better home with more attention less time in her kennel and to be more active she is a very active dog she would benefit from a home with a yard that she can run around in. I just personally feel should be better off with a new family who can give her the attention she needs so she can have a happy life

Story
From Duke: Why have I been in rescue so long? I love people, play well with most other dogs, really enjoy going for walks, get very excited when you walk in the door, really enjoy cuddling with you, but then I’ll move away when you say enough is enough. So why do I get overlooked all the time? It must be because I am 6 years old and diabetic. But you just wait until you hear about my life!!Duke is the best dog ever! I think people are scared of his diabetes and the expense, but the love and joy that he provides back is worth every penny! His foster mom has taken him to work, he LOVES when people come visit, he will run over to them, sit to get petted and then sits back on his butt and leans right into you to get all the attention that you can possibly give.Diabetes and Duke: When it is time to eat I get excited and can’t wait to get my food because I know we are going to sit down on the floor, I will get some loving pets and you will test my blood sugars, then I get to eat!!! I am really cute when I eat, I lay down with the bowl between my paws and eat from a slow feeder bowl. After that I will sit or lay very nicely while you give me my shot. My foster mom spoils me again by giving me what I think is a treat but is actually a joint supplement since I am not a young pup anymore. I don’t need them yet but she is making sure that I stay young. I don’t make a big deal about being diabetic, its just part of my life now. True I don’t get to have all those fun treats the other dogs get but my foster mom bought me my own special treats! I also like to have fresh peppers, green beans, and even chicken, tuna and salmon!! Mom says for healthy treats for diabetic dogs, focus on low-carbohydrate, high-fiber options like carrots-not too many, green beans-yummy, and lean protein sources like chicken, beef, and fish. Also consider sweet potatoes, which have a low glycemic index. Avoid treats with added sugars or high carbohydrate ingredients like wheat, corn, or rice. My foster mom has done alot of research on dog diabetes, joined a facebook group and learned alot. She has even put together a bunch of information I will bring with me. She bought me a dog tag that says I am diabetic, she has bought me special treats that the other dogs don’t get to have and does alot of other things to spoil me. I do not need a crate, I would like a doggy door and a fenced yard as I do need to go potty more often than the other dogs in my home. From the foster mom and shelter. Duke did well on the vetsulin medication but we have switched to Novolin N from Walmart. This insulin is working very well for Duke and is less expensive than any others we checked on, only $25/vial.____Please Note: We ask that an application be filled out before coming to the shelter. He loves to play just as much as he loves cuddling up for a nap. He has the softest hair around his ears and the biggest puppy paws. Scout follows his foster mom around the house no matter what she’s doing. He enjoys playing with his foster sister but can also entertain himself with toys and chew bones. He will bark at unfamiliar sounds or when someone is at the door, but he is easily redirected. Scout uses the doggy door about 75% of the time, and full potty training is still in progress. During the day, he is sectioned off in the kitchen and sleeps in his doggy bed at night. He loves being held and getting attention and is an incredibly sweet and loyal boy. About Me: Hi, I’m Scout, or as my foster mom calls me, Scoot, because I love to scoot right up to you and cuddle for hours. I’m a well-behaved boy who loves to play, cuddle, and stay right by your side. I get along great with my foster sister, a 7-year-old retriever, and I make friends easily with other dogs. I love meeting new people, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch or bed and take a nap. I may bark at unfamiliar sounds, but I’m easily redirected. I enjoy exploring new things and places, and I even like car rides and baths. If you’re looking for your new best buddy, I’m looking for my fur-ever home.  January 6, 2026, 7:07 pm
