New update bio 5/11/2026 Smudge is a happy puppy that's an equal mix of playful prankster and cuddly buddy. He loves to play with toys, retrieve balls, and play chase with other dog friends. Smudge is a smart little one who quickly learned to sit nicely for a treat after going potty outside. He enjoys lying near foster mom while she's working from home, and really loves cuddling on the sofa. Smudge isn't fond of his kennel, and complains for a bit at bedtime. He's learning to quietly kennel on his own.

THIS ANIMAL HAS AN ADOPTION HOLD* Meet Dixie! Dixie is a sweet yet timid gal; she prefers a slow approach, but once she is comfortable, she loves to cuddle! She has lived with similarly sized dogs and did well. She lived with cats and loved to play with them, so she may do best in a home with dog friendly cats. She had brief interactions with older children; she did well but was a bit nervous. All introductions to new places and faces should be done slowly! Dixie has done well with being kenneled for mealtime and naps; this is her safe space, and she likes it to be left open during the day. She is potty trained and will stand at the door when she needs to go out, but she does best with a routine. She is a smart gal and knows to come when you point to the ground near you. She is eager to learn more! Don't let her timid nature fool you - this gal is full of energy! She enjoys having lots of space to run around and feel the wind in her hair. She likes long walks and playtime with her animal companions. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Paddy is a special little guy born on 1/22/26 who happens to be deaf due to being the product of double merle breeding. Despite that challenge, he’s full of personality, affection, and enthusiasm for life. Because deaf puppies don’t hear their littermates yelp during rough play, Paddy is still learning bite inhibition and will need a patient adopter committed to helping him continue building those skills through positive reinforcement and consistent training. This excitable little shadow was bottle-fed until 10 weeks old, which helped him form incredibly strong bonds with his caregivers. Once Paddy loves you, he wants to be wherever you are — your loyal companion every step of the way. He thrives on connection and attention and will happily follow you around the house all day. Paddy does best in a home with a secure fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and explore. Due to his excitement level and ongoing training needs, he’s not a fit for homes with young children. He’s doing wonderfully with crate training as long as he can’t see you nearby — if he spots you, he’d much rather be by your side than behind a barrier! Paddy is looking for a patient, understanding home that will embrace both his special needs and his huge heart. This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions.
