Story
Approximately 7 month old Pluto is a sweet and intelligent boy in need of a loving home. No bad behaviors, just typical high energy border/aussie traits. We have small children with disabilities in the home with complex needs and regrettably no longer have the bandwidth to provide Pluto with the special attention and focus he deserves.. we’ve worked tirelessly to shape our home around him since he was just a few weeks old, so this is a decision we don’t take lightly. He truly is the biggest sweetheart and if we could keep him we would. ❤️‍🩹 He has been socialized at doggy daycare, dog parks, and professionally groomed a few times. We’ve potty trained and taught simple tricks like sit, and handshake. He loves puzzles, fetch, and chasing squirrels. Very relaxed around children.

Story
DASHER AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR LIFE. Dasher and his siblings were born in an abandoned trailer in a very remote rural area. The trailer was strewn with trash and debris, the floor was mostly rotted out and it seemed ready to collapse at any minute. Someone noticed a nursing mom ‘hunting’ (pictured) for food and followed her to the trailer and discovered the puppies. Mom was essentially feral and could not be caught. The pups were about 7 weeks old so the Good Samaritan contacted a PUP volunteer who spent hours finding and catching the puppies. Initially they were very fearful but soon decided a warm bed and a full food bowl were pretty nice. They adapted well to their foster home and people, now loving playing, cuddling with their foster mom and friends. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter, but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Dasher has some shepherd in the genetic mix. It is best guess because we don’t have a clue who daddy is and are only guessing at birth date, but we believe that puppy will be in the lower end of large greed or upper end of mid-size when full grown. He is the largest of the litter and weighed 9.9# at his vet appointment on 12-3. The vet believes pup is 8-9 weeks old now. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, is vaccinated and de-wormed. She will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. Her required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that she be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. Video link https://youtube.com/shorts/A5_43KSJxyE Filename

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Cosmo (we call her Ellie), the delightful Aussie mix who defines "wiggle butt" with her perpetually spinning tail and signature butt curl! This affectionate girl is eager to please, thrives on praise, and adores treats. Ellie’s biggest wish is to be by her people – she gets sad when left alone and loves being a part of all the family fun. She does need to be the only dog in the home. She’s a curious observer of her foster cat brothers and does well with supervised interactions! Ellie is a sensitive soul who is making great strides with her anxiety and reactive behaviors in her foster home. She'll flourish in a calm environment with a firm, loving hand to guide her. She starts her day with an early potty break and breakfast in a slow feeder, often followed by snuggle time with her dad. She enjoys mid-morning play and crate time in the living room while her foster mom does chores, content just to be near. She doesn't like being left alone in another room, preferring to be side-by-side with her humans. Evenings are for snuggles, movies, and her beloved Kong toy, which she carries everywhere! Ellie is friendly but cautious with new people, quickly warming up to offer endless love and hilarious tail wags. If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, devoted girl who promises a lifetime of snuggles and entertainment, Ellie is waiting for you! al better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2025, 5:00 pm

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾🔥 Meet Dante — The Dashing Adventurer With a Heart of Gold 🔥🐾 (Australian Shepherd • 2 Years • ~45 lbs • Professional Good Boy) If you’ve been wishing for a four-legged best friend who can keep up with all your adventures — from weekday hikes to weekend chaos — allow us to introduce Dante, the Australian Shepherd whose life goal is to be included in absolutely everything you do. Yes, everything. If you’re going, he’s going. If you’re sitting, he’s sitting. If you’re eating… well, he’s respectfully observing with hopeful eyes. At 2 years old and around 45 pounds, Dante is the perfect-sized partner in crime. He’s sweet-natured, active, playful, and handsome enough to make your neighbors ask, “Wow, where’d you get that dog?” (We approve of you bragging about him.) He’s good with dogs, great with kids, and even gets along with cats — which is impressive given that many Aussies consider cats to be mysterious, poorly timed flock members. Dante says, “No worries, mate. We’re cool.” He was previously heartworm positive, but he has completed treatment like the brave champ he is and is now cleared and ready for his forever home. Fully vetted, neutered, and house trained — this boy is as turn-key as they come. A couple things you should know: • Dante is barky. Not “I’m yelling at every leaf,” but definitely “I have opinions and I would like to share them.” • Because of that, apartment life = big nope. • Outdoorsy, active families = HUGE YES. He wants adventures! Hikes! Road trips! Splash zones! Life! Dante would thrive with a family who will include him in the everyday moments and the big fun ones — from coffee runs and yard projects to camping trips and long scenic walks. He’s happiest when he’s part of the action, right by your side. He is currently with a neighboring rescue partner — we work together to save as many lives as we can — and we will happily pull him into Hay Dude Rescue to complete his adoption. If you're looking for a best friend who brings joy, energy, loyalty, and a sprinkle of Aussie spice, Dante is your guy. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Dante’s next adventure starts with YOU! 🐶✨

Story
Introducing Zeke, a truly remarkable pup whose heartwarming spirit and playful energy are ready to light up a new home. Zeke is a handsome, resilient boy who, through no fault of his own, found himself searching for a new home. He's more than ready to embark on his next chapter, seeking a loving, forever family to call his own. Zeke is a bundle of joyful energy, known for his silliness and ability to bring a smile to anyone's face. While he may start off shy, it doesn't take long for his true personality to shine through. He quickly becomes an enthusiastic playmate who thrives on the company of other dogs and will gleefully encourage them to play. Zeke is a smart and well-mannered companion. He is potty-trained and comfortable in his crate. He also knows basic commands like "sit" and "go to your room," and his eagerness to please makes him a joy to train further. While he’s working on managing his excitement (which sometimes results in enthusiastic leaps!), his good intentions are always clear. Walks are a highlight of his day, offering him a chance to explore and burn off some of that youthful energy. His barks will let you know precisely when he needs to go outside or when he hears you approaching the door. If you’re seeking an active, affectionate, and charming dog who promises boundless love and entertainment, Zeke could be the perfect addition to your home. Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
