Since he has been with us, we have learned that he is an enthusiastic and high-energy dog that loves attention.Chance has recently graduated from at Puppies for Parole at the Jefferson City Correctional Center. According to his handler, Chance knows commands: sit, down, come and stop. Also, according to his handler, Chance loves to play frisbee and chase a basketball or a soccer ball. Chance walks well on a leash. Chance is neutered, microchipped and up to date of all of his vaccines.Chance would make a wonderful dog for a loving family who will give him the time and attention he deserves. Joplin was brought into the shelter with her litter mates from a situation where there were too many dogs to take care of.We have learned that Joplin is a happy-go-lucky, playful, and rambunctious dog who craves attention and loves to play. She walks very well on leash and loves to trot around the play yard and lay in the grass.Joplin has graduated from Puppies for Parole. Her handler said she did very well. She adjusted well to her new environment and has learned her basic commands. She is very treat motivated and can easily be taught things like sit, roll over, etc. She is a little shy around strangers but warms up quickly. They think she will do well in any family, even one with kids that are respectful of her and gives her time to adjust. The kind people in Stover ensured I did not go hungry as you can see in the pictures. haha. I just arrived at the animal rescue on 7/11/25 and I can tell you I love the air conditioning. I am the sweetest dog, I do well on a leash. I am looking for a home where I can be spoiled and laid back. I need to get my steps in but I can also enjoy a good movie with you. Either way, I am your guy! 1/30/26 - I must have fallen on the ice and broke my arm. The folks at MU can repair it. My surgery is the first week in February.
