According to his handler, Chance knows commands: sit, down, come and stop. Also, according to his handler, Chance loves to play frisbee and chase a basketball or a soccer ball. Chance walks well on a leash. The kind people in Stover ensured I did not go hungry as you can see in the pictures. haha. I just arrived at the animal rescue on 7/11/25 and I can tell you I love the air conditioning. I am the sweetest dog, I do well on a leash. I am looking for a home where I can be spoiled and laid back. I need to get my steps in but I can also enjoy a good movie with you. Either way, I am your guy! 1/30/26 - I must have fallen on the ice and broke my arm. The folks at MU can repair it. My surgery is the first week in February. This guy has a high energy when he first sees you. The excitement he has makes his butt wiggle. It's the cutest thing since he has a cropped tail (we don't know why it was cropped). Likes to couch surf. Great with other dogs. Not really interested in cats but not aggressive towards them.All animals must be neutered/spayed prior to finalization of adoption. All animals will be microchipped and have the appropriate vaccinations for the age of the animal. All animals will be treated for worms and flea/tick prevention.

Meet Phil and Lil! These two sweet pups were found abandoned out in the countryside, so unfortunately we don’t know much about their early lives. Based on their timid personalities, it seems likely they didn’t have much exposure to the world during their first few months. We estimate they’re around 7 months old, and they appear to be Australian Shepherd mixes—but as always with rescue dogs, your guess is as good as ours. Of the pair, Phil is the more confident one. He’s still shy and needs a little time to warm up, but with patience (and plenty of treats) he begins to show his gentle, affectionate side. Once he realizes you’re safe, you can see how much he wants to trust and connect. Phil is a very sweet boy at heart—just a little unsure of the world right now. Lil is having a harder time adjusting to shelter life. When people pass by her kennel, she often bolts to the outside area because she feels overwhelmed and uncomfortable. It’s clear she hasn’t had much human interaction in her short life, and everything still feels very new and scary to her. Lil is a very special girl who will need a very patient and understanding family—someone willing to move at her pace and give her the time she needs to feel safe. Both Phil and Lil will need a lot of catch-up when it comes to socialization. New experiences, new people, and everyday life are things they’re still learning about. With patient families, gentle encouragement, and positive experiences, they have every chance to grow in confidence and blossom into wonderful companions. These pups just need someone willing to believe in them and help show them the world isn’t such a scary place. 💛
