As she approaches her 9th birthday, she carries herself with the quiet confidence of a girl who knows exactly what she likes in life: A comfy couch. A warm lap (or at least a leg to lean on). And her person nearby. At around 30 pounds, Patches is the perfect “just right” size — big enough to feel substantial when she curls up beside you, small enough to fit perfectly tucked against your side. She is mostly a lap dog… or at least a “pressed firmly against your hip” dog. Personal space? Optional. Warmth and love? Required. She’s fully house trained, has lovely house manners, and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. She’s been living in a home environment and fits right in like she’s always belonged there. Cats don’t bother her one bit — she’s far too dignified to get caught up in that drama. While she doesn’t spend her days bouncing around with toys or leading playgroups, that’s simply because Patches has mastered the art of peaceful companionship. She prefers quality cuddle time over chaos.
