Story
These pups are sponsored in loving memory of Joan Cooman, a woman who put her heart and soul into her family and her pets. Joan passed her love and compassion for animals to so many people, but mostly her daughters. 8 years ago, Holly Quinn joined Joan’s family, a rescue from Joyful, and Holly has been nothing short of phenomenal. She was Joan’s most precious possession, and she shared Holly with the world. Passing the TDI therapy dog test, Joan combined her favorite things. Teaching elementary school-aged children to read with Holly being the ever constant ear to the kids. We hope that when you adopt one of these puppies your new family member means as much to you as our Holly meant to Joan. Polly was born around May 1, 2025 and she will likely top out about 50-60 # range and one of her siblings had their DNA done as pictured below. It is possible for there to be more than one dad per litter so Polly's ultimate breed info may vary from her sister's DNA that was very GSD looking, but at least it give us an idea.   Polly is a bit shy at first meeting as they all were, but adjusting nicely to the new environment and she thinks all of us JR humans are pretty cool.  As the other siblings did we feel Polly will need time (the one that had the DNA done wasn't really adjusted to her home for three months so you'll need to be patient, but that family sure loves their girl!!   It appears that she is going to be a smart, playful, happy, little girl that will adore her new human family!  Polly is very much a water dog and has been swimming in the pool as well as the pond.  Don't you just love that she is bi-eyed!?  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Lilo 3 months old Female Australian Shepherd mix Lilo and her siblings found themselves at a rural shelter but thankfully with some teamwork and all hands on deck, they’re so close to settling into the comforts of real homes and we’re so excited for them! They will arrive to the Buffalo, NY area on Sunday 4/26 and are eligible for our foster to adopt program. Foster to adopt will entail a 10 day trial period on a foster basis and the puppy will be examined by our vet during this time. If it’s the right pup for you, you’ll adopt at that time - if not, you’ll continue to foster until a forever home is found! Spay/neuter will be done by our vet at 6 months old and is included in their adoption fee. Please note, there is no meet and greet for foster to adopt - you are agreeing to take the puppy directly off transport since you are not required to adopt if it’s not the right fit. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting a puppy please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Adopters must be local enough to get them to our vets in the Buffalo/south towns areas for appointments and spay/neuter. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. Story
Update:  Since Layla is truly not interested in any humans, but is fine living among us and the other dogs we've chosen to make her a Joyful Sanctuary pet.  Layla is good with the other dogs and we will love her until it is her time to leave this earth and let her go lovingly.  Layla was born around August 1, 2020 and weighs too much at about 45 pounds.  Joyful received a message asking for help in the Rochester area with a home that had 30 dogs.   The humans started taking in dogs that no one wanted, and after a few years, they became overwhelmed and asked for help.  Layla has been with us for over a year and will be an excellent dog for that special person who understands her.  Layla has been living with other dogs and is ok, but she can be very territorial with her food.  Layla would like a home with no children. She adores her human and will be at your side day and night, watching your every move.  She is not the type of dog that will want to go shopping or go to the park. She's a homebody who is content to rule the roost from the couch.  Layla is weary of strangers, so a home with few visitors would be ideal.  We understand the right home for Layla is going to be a tricky thing to find, but we know that home and that special person is out there!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $___N/A. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
