Story
Fanny was born about June 26, 2023 and will likely top out about 50 lbs.  My goodness this girl is strikingly pretty!  She has a soft medium length coat that will cause you to deal with shedding.  Her color of tan is on the red side and then those eyes - WOWZA!  Fanny came to us as a stray through a nearby dog control officer after no owner was found.  Fanny is so sweet tempered and has a bit of comical quirkiness which surely comes from her Husky side.  She is very human motivated yet does wonderful with the other dogs.   We are experiencing some food protection with the other dogs, but it is manageable and will hopefully dissipate as she realizes she will never go hungry again.  Fanny rides fine in a car.  It seems she's not been on leash much and not sure what to do so she doesn't think she can move - there is that funny Husky personality again.  Fortunately, she has not ever had pups even though she was not spayed upon arrival and at the vet's office there was an, off leash, spicey Jack Russell that wanted to kick her butt and she just wanted to get away from it!  She is a super nice young lady that may be a bit of a diamond in the ruff, but it won't take long for her to become a fantastic canine companion.  Oh, one more thing we learned is that she does have the ability to get over a 6' enclosure, but we quickly learned it was only because she wanted to get to us humans and never to run off.  So, if you are owners who enjoy leaving your dog in the fenced back yard and driving away she is not for you.  Fanny is her name! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_550.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. Story
Reeses was born about September 3, 2022 and weighs about 55 lbs.  I'm not sure he could be any cuter and his coloring and markings are bold and beautiful!  He is back with us after three years because his human mom passed away and the young son was not able to keep the home and keep Reeses.  Reeses does well in the car and he walks fine on leash.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__300.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
My name is Luna, and I am almost 5 years old....and such a pretty lady!!! Don`t let this pretty face fool you...I am a hunter by nature and have a high prey drive....squirrels, woodchucks, any small animal.... they are all fair game. I would do best in an adult home, no kids, no cats and no small dogs... a home with a fenced yard is a must. Lots of mental stimulation keeps this pretty working girl dog in check.

Story
Gypsy arrived at NCCR on 12/5/25, surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She is an approximately 3 ½ year old spayed female Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. Gypsy is house trained and knows some basic commands. She is a highly intelligent working breed who will need plenty of daily activity, both physical and mental, to keep her happy. Gypsy loves to play ball with the volunteers and would probably enjoy agility training. She would prefer a home without young children. Gypsy gets along with some other dogs, but has not met many dogs in her life so far. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them. NYS Registration #RR028 Date of Arrival: December 5, 2025 Breed(s): Australian Shepherd & Border Collie Age: 3 & 1/2 years old Health info: Spayed, vaccinated, & microchipped

Story
Xobo is a 4 1/2 year old, possibly a mix of Aussie Shepherd and Poodle. He is looking for a new home due to personal circumstances, and his family is hoping to find him a loving placement soon. He is a friendly, outgoing boy who loves people and is a favorite everywhere he goes, including doggy daycare and boarding. While Xobo enjoys other dogs and does wonderfully in group settings, he does best as the only dog in the home, as he can sometimes become overly excited in a household environment. He is house-trained and crate-trained, knows basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and loves chasing balls, running, belly rubs, and all the affection he can get. With his playful nature and moderate energy level, Xobo is ready to be someone’s devoted companion! Xobo is still in the care of his family, but if you are interested in meeting this happy fellow, please send in your application at www.caninerescue.org. Just what is a Courtesy Listing? It is a list of dogs, that through no fault of their own are looking for a new home. NCCR has agreed to post these dogs until a home is found. Any adoption and rehoming fee will be arranged through the dog’s caregiver. *If you are interested in Xobo just complete the application on our website. The link is under each dog’s picture on their profile page. The application will be forwarded to his caregiver where applications are reviewed and contact made to the interested parties. Please review the description to be sure you and the dog would be a good match.
