Story
Yoko Ono is available for Foster to Adopt! We'd love to welcome Yoko Ono into the Fetch + Releash family on the next available flight. In order to secure a spot on the flight, she needs a committed foster-to-adopt family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you’ll be expected to take her home that same day. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog’s nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you’ll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yoko Ono / Female / 3 years old / 35 lbs / Australian Shepherd Mix / From Mexico Yoko Ono is a cool, calm, and quietly brilliant young dog who is ready for a home that appreciates both her independence and her affection. She was found walking down the highway, hungry, alone, and confused, but she handled the situation with the kind of composure that suggests she has always known how to take things in stride. Described by her caregivers as intelligent, steady, and self-possessed, Yoko gets along well with other dogs and greets the world with thoughtful curiosity rather than chaos. She enjoys affection on her own terms and has a talent for making herself comfortable nearby, offering cuddles when the mood strikes. She has the energy of a responsible adult and gives the kind of side-eye that suggests she could help your kids with their math homework if needed. Yoko walks well on leash and has a low to medium energy level. She enjoys a balance of gentle activity and downtime and is perfectly content to relax once her needs are met. She is not crate trained and her house training is still a work in progress, but she settles easily and adapts well to routine. Yoko would do well with a family who is not intimidated by her intelligence and who respects her independent streak. She is a flexible girl who could likely adapt to city living, as she remains calm and unbothered in most situations. One request she makes very clear is that her people never mention the Beatles, as she has heard the rumors and would prefer not to discuss them. Yoko was treated for heartworm between May and June 2025, and her most recent SNAP test in November was negative. She is expected to go on to live a full and healthy life, however, she should be on year-round heartworm prevention medicine. Yoko Ono is ready to find a home that values a smart, steady companion with a dry sense of humor and a soft spot for the people she loves. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Yoko Ono’s adoption fee is $850. Story
Hello! My name is Sunny!I`m a lovely but sensitive boy. I don`t mind meeting new people (I like them even more when they have a tasty treat for me!) but I don`t enjoy them petting me until we are a bit more familiar with each other. Once I warm up to you, you will see how much I love pets and lean in for scratches. I do have a happy, stompy dance when you scratch my bum. I am pretty good at fetch and love to collect stuffy toys in a pile. I am the smartest boy and respond impressively quick to positive training. I would love to join a home with someone who has an interest in working with me to build my confidence. My new family should know that I have allergies and am on medication which helps stop my skin from being itchy and uncomfortable.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: I am looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I would do well with another dog who likes to run and chase.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Not necessarily.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings or environments with tight hallways as I don`t always love when strangers randomly come into my bubble.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Fosters will offer the routine, structure and stability needed to help get animals ready for their new family. Learn more at https://guelphhumane.ca/the-paisley-project/.
