Story
Akela is a 10 yr old Australian Sheppard bought from a breeder her in London Ontario. She has been a memeber of our family since she was a puppy. She is an active girl, still enjoys going for runs, walks, and would play fetch all day if she could. We love her very much but have since had 4 children and the attention we can provide her has diminished while her needs for one on one affection have stayed high. We are really torn about even considering rehoming her but want her to have the best life she can have. Akela would thrive with someone who has experience with the breed and is willing to provide her that one on one time and love. If they could do that they would have a loyal companion for the rest of her years.

Story
Cosmo / Male / 3 Years / 74lbs / Australian Shepherd/Labrador / Dog Selective / Good with Older Children/ Untested with Cats / Fostered in Milton ** Follow Cosmo's journey on Instagram: @theadorableadoptablecosmo* Cosmo is a striking, intelligent shepherd-mix with a deeply sensitive and thoughtful nature. In a calm, predictable environment, he is affectionate, playful, and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. When he feels safe, Cosmo enjoys relaxing near his humans, spending time on the couch or nearby on the floor, and engaging with enrichment that allows him to decompress and settle. Cosmo thrives with routine, clarity, and low-pressure interactions. He responds best when given space and choice, and he shows excellent potential when his nervous system is supported. He loves food-based enrichment, stuffed toys, sniffing activities, and long-lasting chews, all of which help him regulate and feel secure. Inside the home, he is calm, house-trained, and not destructive when his needs are met. Cosmo can become overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable environments. He is sensitive to excess noise, movement, unfamiliar visitors, and close proximity to other dogs, and he benefits from thoughtful management that reduces trigger stacking. He does best with calm, respectful dogs when given adequate space and has shown the ability to self-regulate during structured, low-pressure social experiences. Cosmo is not suited to a home with young children, as fast movement and unpredictability increase his anxiety. Cosmo has worked with professional behavioural support and responds best to force-free handling, long-line walks in quiet natural settings, and environments that prioritize emotional safety over exposure. With consistency and continued support, he demonstrates curiosity, connection, and the ability to build confidence at a steady pace. Cosmo is looking for an experienced, patient home that understands sensitive dogs and values calm, predictable routines. His ideal home would be a quiet household — ideally rural or semi-rural — with access to safe outdoor space where he can decompress without frequent triggers. He would do best with minimal visitors and guardians who are committed to continuing his confidence-building, low-pressure lifestyle. Cosmo may thrive as an only dog or with a calm, well-matched canine companion following careful introductions. In the right environment, Cosmo is a deeply loyal and gentle companion — a dog who finds joy in quiet moments, meaningful connection, and the comfort of being truly understood. If you’re interested in adopting Cosmo, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form. Cosmo’s adoption fee is $850. Story
Jersey / Male / 15 Weeks / Aussie x Elkhound / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes / Location: Bowmanville 📍 Our fighter Jersey is officially ready to find his forever family 🐾❤️ This brave boy beat the odds and came out stronger than ever, and now he’s ready for his happy ending. Jersey is a world class cuddler. He loves snuggling up after playtime, snoozing with his foster brothers (and his actual brother!), and being wherever his people are. 😴 He’s incredibly sweet, truly good natured, and just a little too smart for his own good, he keeps his foster family on their toes in the best way. Jersey has lots of puppy energy and would thrive in a home that can match his zest for life. He loves to play, loves to learn, and absolutely loves his people. He aims to please, already knows sit, and has been the easiest of the crew to crate train and pee pad train. 🙌 This resilient boy fought so hard to be here. Now he just needs a family to call his own. Jersey will be neutered between 6–12 months at one of our approved veterinarians (included in his adoption fee). If you’re ready to give this sweet fighter the forever home he deserves, please apply today. 🐶💕 https://forms.gle/LKeZ6PUiD7wVAqMs8

Story
Zuri is a beautiful 4 year old male Australian Shepherd looking for a forever home after his family/owner's went through a major lifestyle change that would not be fair for him in the long run. His entire support system is dedicated to finding him a great home where he will be fulfilled, loved and brought to his full potential. His adoption comes with mandatory (free) training follow ups with Val Groulx from Calm & Collect Canine. After completing a Board & Train program, Zuri has a great foundation with a 5 word marker system, basic obedience (sit, down, stand, place, recall, heel, out, crate, all with an auto stay), is muzzle conditioned, e collar trained and is only starting! Zuri is a sweet sensitive boy who absolutely adores his family/owner's. He’s not much of a snuggler but likes to always have access to his people so for that reason, he’s looking for a family/owner's who will be dedicated to creating a healthy relationship and placing boundaries right off the bat so that separation anxiety does not become a problem. Being vocal as a result of the separation anxiety has happened in the past so an apartment setting might not be the best for this boy. Zuri is a silly, happy go lucky dog who loves going on adventures, long walks, exploring new trails, running, swimming, learning and playing. He has high energy and stamina but can also enjoy a day off once in a while. He loves being outside whether that’s running around like crazy or just laying in the sun so someone who’s active and loves the outdoors is a must. He’s friendly with other dogs and is in a pack regularly at daycare but he’s shown resource guarding with toys and treats in the past so a home with another dog can be considered as long as it’s a non-confrontational dog and the family/owner's are ready to keep safety and management protocols in place.  Given his breed, sensitivity and lack of exposure to kids in his early years Zuri’s quite nervous around them and their quick movements so applicants with kids under 12 years old or with the plan of having kids in the next 2 years will not be considered. Age: 4 years Weight: 50 lbs Breed: Australian Shepherd Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes House-trained: Yes Crate-trained: Yes Medical conditions: None Energy level: Very high Good with dogs: Yes, with limitations Good with cats: Untested (has prey drive) Good with kids: No (12+ may be considered) Ideal home: Active household familiar with working breeds; structured environment with boundaries, training, and opportunities for physical and mental engagement; calm space to decompress This is a courtesy LIsting. If you are interested in providing Zuri with his forever home, please contact Shaun at 905-392-7293 or send an email to ashna.shaun@gmail.com.

Story
Rooby / Spayed Female / 7 Years / 50lbs / Australian Shepherd X / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Untested / Kids: Yes / Location / Port Colborne Mama Rooby is officially ready to find her forever family This beautiful lady is 7 years young, and to call her a cuddle bug would be an understatement. If you let her, she would happily live on your lap full time. Rooby is all about her people, always close, always loving, always seeking connection. A home where someone is around more often than not would be ideal for her. A recently retired person looking for a devoted companion? That would be her perfect cup of tea. She truly loves everyone. Visitors at the door? New friends. Familiar faces? Even better. And of course, she loves mealtime and treats, just like all her puppies do. We can absolutely see where they get their sweet, gentle nature from. Despite spending her whole life tied outside, Rooby’s heart is nothing but soft and loving. She is incredibly good natured and patient. At home, whether crated or not, she waits calmly for you to return. No fuss, just happy to see you when you walk back in. Rooby is still learning how to simply be a dog. Toys are new and a bit confusing, but she’s figuring it out. She gets along well with other dogs, she may be a little aloof at first, but if someone invites her to play, she’ll happily join in. Otherwise, she’s content doing her own thing. Car rides make her a little nervous at first, but once she’s in, she settles nicely. She’s been friendly with every single person who comes to the door. Rooby is an easy girl to love and even easier to please. All she wants is a warm lap, kind hands, and a family to call her own. She would make such a special addition to a very lucky home. https://forms.gle/Q53nzoZtq3JGZ4yc7
