Story
Cosmo / Male / 3 Years / 74lbs / Australian Shepherd/Labrador / Dog Selective / Good with Older Children/ Untested with Cats / Fostered in Milton ** Follow Cosmo's journey on Instagram: @theadorableadoptablecosmo* Cosmo is a striking, intelligent Shepherd-mix with a deeply sensitive and thoughtful nature. In a calm, predictable environment, he is affectionate, playful, and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. When he feels safe, Cosmo enjoys relaxing near his humans, spending time on the couch or nearby on the floor, and engaging with enrichment that allows him to decompress and settle. Cosmo thrives with routine, clarity, and low-pressure interactions. He responds best when given space and choice, and he shows excellent potential when his nervous system is supported. He loves food-based enrichment, stuffed toys, sniffing activities, and long-lasting chews, all of which help him regulate and feel secure. Inside the home, he is calm, house-trained, and not destructive when his needs are met. Cosmo can become overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable environments. He is sensitive to excess noise, movement, unfamiliar visitors, and close proximity to other dogs, and he benefits from thoughtful management that reduces trigger stacking. He does best with calm, respectful dogs when given adequate space and has shown the ability to self-regulate during structured, low-pressure social experiences. Cosmo is not suited to a home with young children, as fast movement and unpredictability increase his anxiety. Cosmo has worked with professional behavioural support and responds best to force-free handling, long-line walks in quiet natural settings, and environments that prioritize emotional safety over exposure. With consistency and continued support, he demonstrates curiosity, connection, and the ability to build confidence at a steady pace. Cosmo is looking for an experienced, patient home that understands sensitive dogs and values calm, predictable routines. His ideal home would be a quiet household — ideally rural or semi-rural — with access to safe outdoor space where he can decompress without frequent triggers. He would do best with minimal visitors and guardians who are committed to continuing his confidence-building, low-pressure lifestyle. Cosmo may thrive as an only dog or with a calm, well-matched canine companion following careful introductions. In the right environment, Cosmo is a deeply loyal and gentle companion — a dog who finds joy in quiet moments, meaningful connection, and the comfort of being truly understood. Story
Hello! My name is Pippin!I`m a sensitive guy who can get stressed when things change. I love stability and routine, but who doesn`t, right!? I have been spending my time in a wonderful foster home where I`m learning to feel safe and I`m coming out of my shell. I love to snuggle in bed with my humans and I do ok with strangers as long as they give me space and let me be. While I do fine living with dogs and even meeting dogs, I do sometimes bark and pull when seeing them on leash. I would love for my humans to continue with positive training to help walks be more relaxing. I promise to pay with snuggles and being a fantastic dog companion!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: I`m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a respectful, calm dog.CATS: Potentially, with a cat experienced living with dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I`m looking for someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required unless rural.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: No, I do well left alone.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
“Soooo happy to meet you!” That’s Cannoli’s motto. Cannoli is a playful, intelligent dog who likes to keep her brain and body busy. BIO & BACKGROUND:- Aussie Shepherd/Terrier Mix, 3.5 year-old, Female (spayed) - Medium-sized (53 lbs) high-energy- Cannoli was an unclaimed stray at an over-crowded municipal shelter- Cannoli is house-trained, microchipped and has her core vaccinationsABOUT CANNOLI: - Friendly, affectionate and loves a good scritch behind the ears- Good playing on her own and loves enrichment games- Cannoli is good on a leash; although she does not enjoy very busy roadsCANNOLI’S IDEAL HOME:- She enjoys a good sniff and spending time outdoors, she would benefit from a household that will give her plenty of time outside or in the backyard - Cannoli would also benefit from obedience training with a Dog Trainer; this will help use that smart brain of hers and allow her to shine- Cannoli would be best in a home with no other pets or small children; she has shown some resource guarding of her food and while we don’t have her history, this is likely stemming from her past. Calm handling, clear boundaries, and gentle, consistent guidance is required to help her learn she doesn`t need to protect what`s hers.- Cannoli can be vocal and would do best in a home with no shared wallsIf you cannoli imagine this girl by your side - helping her learn life cannoli get better - apply to adopt her and let the journey begin! If you have any questions contact her Adoption Coordinator at: lauren.etobicokehumanesociety@gmail.com

Story
Akela is a 10 yr old Australian Sheppard bought from a breeder her in London Ontario. She has been a memeber of our family since she was a puppy. She is an active girl, still enjoys going for runs, walks, and would play fetch all day if she could. We love her very much but have since had 4 children and the attention we can provide her has diminished while her needs for one on one affection have stayed high. We are really torn about even considering rehoming her but want her to have the best life she can have. Akela would thrive with someone who has experience with the breed and is willing to provide her that one on one time and love. If they could do that they would have a loyal companion for the rest of her years.

Story
Zuri is a beautiful 4 year old male Australian Shepherd looking for a forever home after his family/owner's went through a major lifestyle change that would not be fair for him in the long run. His entire support system is dedicated to finding him a great home where he will be fulfilled, loved and brought to his full potential. His adoption comes with mandatory (free) training follow ups with Val Groulx from Calm & Collect Canine. After completing a Board & Train program, Zuri has a great foundation with a 5 word marker system, basic obedience (sit, down, stand, place, recall, heel, out, crate, all with an auto stay), is muzzle conditioned, e collar trained and is only starting! Zuri is a sweet sensitive boy who absolutely adores his family/owner's. He’s not much of a snuggler but likes to always have access to his people so for that reason, he’s looking for a family/owner's who will be dedicated to creating a healthy relationship and placing boundaries right off the bat so that separation anxiety does not become a problem. Being vocal as a result of the separation anxiety has happened in the past so an apartment setting might not be the best for this boy. Zuri is a silly, happy go lucky dog who loves going on adventures, long walks, exploring new trails, running, swimming, learning and playing. He has high energy and stamina but can also enjoy a day off once in a while. He loves being outside whether that’s running around like crazy or just laying in the sun so someone who’s active and loves the outdoors is a must. He’s friendly with other dogs and is in a pack regularly at daycare but he’s shown resource guarding with toys and treats in the past so a home with another dog can be considered as long as it’s a non-confrontational dog and the family/owner's are ready to keep safety and management protocols in place.  Given his breed, sensitivity and lack of exposure to kids in his early years Zuri’s quite nervous around them and their quick movements so applicants with kids under 12 years old or with the plan of having kids in the next 2 years will not be considered. Age: 4 years Weight: 50 lbs Breed: Australian Shepherd Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes House-trained: Yes Crate-trained: Yes Medical conditions: None Energy level: Very high Good with dogs: Yes, with limitations Good with cats: Untested (has prey drive) Good with kids: No (12+ may be considered) Ideal home: Active household familiar with working breeds; structured environment with boundaries, training, and opportunities for physical and mental engagement; calm space to decompress This is a courtesy LIsting. If you are interested in providing Zuri with his forever home, please contact Shaun at 905-392-7293 or send an email to ashna.shaun@gmail.com.
