Story
Hello! My name is Sunny!I`m a lovely but sensitive boy. I don`t mind meeting new people (I like them even more when they have a tasty treat for me!) but I don`t enjoy them petting me until we are a bit more familiar with each other. Once I warm up to you, you will see how much I love pets and lean in for scratches. I do have a happy, stompy dance when you scratch my bum. I am pretty good at fetch and love to collect stuffy toys in a pile. I am the smartest boy and respond impressively quick to positive training. I would love to join a home with someone who has an interest in working with me to build my confidence. My new family should know that I have allergies and am on medication which helps stop my skin from being itchy and uncomfortable.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: I am looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I would do well with another dog who likes to run and chase.CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Not necessarily.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings or environments with tight hallways as I don`t always love when strangers randomly come into my bubble.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

Story
Meet CoCo   Name: CoCo Age: 1 year Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Border Collie Mix Color: Black / White / Brown Weight: 10 kg Height: 43–45 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story CoCo was rescued on November 19, 2025, from a severe animal hoarding case involving over 200 dogs. He was extremely fearful of people when first rescued, but after one month in a foster home, he has made remarkable progress and has learned that humans can be kind and safe.    With People   CoCo may be a little shy at first, but once treats come out, he quickly warms up and starts trusting. After he bonds with someone, he enjoys being touched and can even be picked up by supporting his belly. When he feels close to you, he will roll over and show his tummy as a sign of affection.   His confidence with people has grown significantly — he now shows interest in people on walks and has recently started paying special attention to women, sometimes wanting to follow them. He also prefers to sleep close to his people.    With Other Dogs   CoCo is generally neutral toward other dogs. He doesn’t seek out play and usually ignores dogs that approach him. However, he can feel nervous around dogs larger than himself. If another dog acts pushy or challenging, CoCo chooses to avoid the situation rather than react.    With Cats & Birds   When he sees cats on walks, he may look at them with curiosity, but he will follow his handler when guided. He may show a brief chasing response toward birds.    Energy Level   CoCo has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and especially loves walking, running, and moving. After exercise, he settles down well and relaxes calmly.    On Walks   CoCo loves walks and prefers brisk walking or jogging over sniffing. He does pull on leash, but he follows his handler and is currently practicing better leash manners. He has recently become more interested in people while walking, which can distract him, so continued training will help.    At Home & Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Rarely barks, but may bark to ask for something • May whine briefly in a kennel, then settles • Jumps into and out of the car on his own • Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty • Not very interested in toys • Knows “sit” and “paw,” currently learning “down” • Recently showing some separation anxiety — gradual alone-time training is recommended • Has chewed phone charging cables, so wires should be kept out of reach • Currently teething, so safe chew toys are important • Not food-obsessed, but happily takes treats   CoCo is a gentle, sensitive, and affectionate boy who has overcome a difficult past. With patience, structure, and love, he will continue to grow into a loyal and wonderful companion  Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.  Currently in Korea  Available to Canada & U.S. ##2627856##

Story
🏠Currently in a Toronto foster home I might be a mix, but I’ve got the best of both worlds — the smarts of a Border Collie and the focus of a Jindo. I’m clever, full of energy, and once I love you, I love you with all my heart. I was born in an old abandoned house, far from people and care. But when I was just 3 months old, kind humans rescued me and brought me to a warm, safe foster home. That’s where I spent the first 2 years of my life, learning what it means to be loved and to live indoors. Due to some changes in my foster family’s life, I had to move to a training center. At first, everything was unfamiliar and a little scary… but I surprised everyone by adjusting quickly! Now I get along great with the trainers, and I love learning new things. I’m really good at understanding people — not just their words, but their feelings too. When I meet someone new, I might hesitate for a moment. But give me a little time and kindness, and you’ll see the real me — sweet, affectionate, and even a little silly. I also get along well with other dogs and know how to play nicely without causing trouble. I love walks and being outdoors, and I’m happiest when I can explore the world with someone I trust. After some fun and exercise, I’m more than happy to relax quietly at home. I’ve got a calm, sensitive side too. I’ve spent most of my life around women, so I might be a bit shy around men at first. But please don’t worry — with patience and gentle care, I’ll come closer, lean in, and show you how much love I have to give. What I’m really looking for is someone who’s ready to build a bond — who’ll walk with me, talk with me, and understand that trust takes time but grows deep. If that sounds like you, I think we could be a perfect match. I’m ready to give my heart. Are you ready to be my forever family? 💛 Love, Dior
