Koda is an approximately 7-year-old mixed breed (we believe Aussie Shepherd/Pug, but that is just our best guess!) who has been part of our family since 2018. Sadly, due to an unexpected move, we are heartbroken to be searching for a new home for him and we hoping to find someone who will love him as much as we do. Koda is incredibly affectionate and thrives on companionship. He would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he loves to be close to his people and is happiest when he part of your day. He is gentle, loyal, and has the sweetest soul. He is great with other animals, lived with both a larger dog and a puppy before and got along wonderfully with both. He is also great with kids and has always been patient and loving around them. Koda is very well-mannered, knows most basic commands, and even waits to be told when he can eat. He has never needed a crate and has always been well-behaved in the home. Currently in a Toronto foster home I might be a mix, but I’ve got the best of both worlds — the smarts of a Border Collie and the focus of a Jindo. I’m clever, full of energy, and once I love you, I love you with all my heart. I was born in an old abandoned house, far from people and care. But when I was just 3 months old, kind humans rescued me and brought me to a warm, safe foster home. That’s where I spent the first 2 years of my life, learning what it means to be loved and to live indoors. Due to some changes in my foster family’s life, I had to move to a training center. At first, everything was unfamiliar and a little scary… but I surprised everyone by adjusting quickly! Now I get along great with the trainers, and I love learning new things. I’m really good at understanding people — not just their words, but their feelings too. When I meet someone new, I might hesitate for a moment. But give me a little time and kindness, and you’ll see the real me — sweet, affectionate, and even a little silly. I also get along well with other dogs and know how to play nicely without causing trouble. I love walks and being outdoors, and I’m happiest when I can explore the world with someone I trust. After some fun and exercise, I’m more than happy to relax quietly at home. I’ve got a calm, sensitive side too. I’ve spent most of my life around women, so I might be a bit shy around men at first.
