FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Roscoe into the Fetch + Releash family on July 7th (subject to change). In order for Roscoe to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Roscoe / Male / 3 years old / 77 pounds / Bulldog Mix / Medium Energy / Adores People Roscoe was an owner surrender. His owner left him with his elderly mother who wasn’t able to manage him (given his size and her age) along with her own dog. Roscoe was in a home with his litter mate before being surrendered and he is now living his best rescued life with the opportunity to interact with a variety of dogs. He is a big, loving teddy bear who is looking for someone to love and is described as “an awesome big ole boy”. Roscoe’s dream is to constantly be bathed in love, attention and lots of scratchies. He is definitely craving more one on one human attention than he is currently getting. Roscoe has had some exposure to a leash but he will need someone committed to working on mastering leash etiquette as he can tend to pull. He will need a strong and confident handler due to his size and a person experienced with large breeds is a bonus. Aside from honing in on his leash skills his new family should expect to work with him on potty training, crate training along with basic commands. It's likely he was house trained previously but has been living outdoors for quite some time now. This big lug is very eager to please so this should aid in his training. He would do best in a home with older dog savvy children because he likes to jump up and give bear hugs. Roscoe is very affectionate, enjoys the company of kids and is truly just looking for someone to love him and someone he can also shower with love in return. He would be best suited for a detched home over a condo as he can be vocal when seeking attention. His future family will need to work on Roscoes confidence when it comes to being independent as his true preference is being right at your side. Roscoe has been ready to find a family of his own for quite some time and dreams of the day he will be your loyal and devoted sidekick. You will not be disappointed welcoming this ultra loveable boy into your life. Roscoe had eye surgery in the summer of 2022 and we are pleased to report that he is fully healed. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Roscoe’s adoption fee is $850. Story
Harley is a very goofy girl who is amazing with all of our staff members. She is a treat-eating machine! One of her favourite things is getting butt rubs, though she also enjoys playing with her food puzzles. She does like to go for walks, but is generally pretty lazy and enjoys lounging. There have been instances of resource guarding with dogs and strangers, so she would do best in a home with no children or other pets. Harley is very loyal to her people and will become your shadow if you give her a chance!

Story
Mackey was rescued after a life of living outside all alone. This powerhouse is such a fun loving boy! Mackey does not trust new people easily but with a proper introduction and lots of time, he learns to share his things and give affection. Once comfortable with his people, he listens well and is bouncy and playful. Mackey will need an experienced adult family to manage his resource guarding and teach him how to live in a house. Mackey is very intelligent and has learned many different ways to control these behaviors. He will need continued practice with muzzle training for vet visits and boundaries in the home to control his resource guarding. With clear guidance and reward for desired behavior, Mackey can easily learn to live in a home. Mackey has a high prey drive which makes him aggressive towards small dogs and wildlife. He will need lots of control on walks, distance away from all dogs, constant obedience training and positive reinforcement to keep him in a good mindset and paying attention to his owner. Mackey would do best in a house with a fully fenced yard.

Story
We first adopted Titus from our neighbours who had a litter of puppies over covid. He is currently 3 years old now, and has been loved by our family for his entire life. Titus's personality can be described as fun and quirky. He loves cuddles and being near to his humans at all times. He will take all the attention you can give him! Titus enjoy being outdoors, and enjoys walks twice a day, except for on cold or rainy days where he would much rather be laying on his bed! He is very adaptive, and will accomodate your work and home lifestyle well. He responds well to commands, and listens well to house boundaries. Titus gets along with most dogs and cats, however he is very good at indicating when he is uncomfortable with a particular situation. All in all, he is incredibly loyal and protective of those he loves, and would certainly saccrifice his own life for you once he gets to know that you are his family.

Story
Lil Oscar is currently being fostered in Texas. 1.5 years young and the best boy! 43 pounds but still a little thin. 45-48 pounds would be ideal. We have him listed as a bulldog/ boxer mix. Lil Oscar is paralyzed on the left side of his face. This could have been caused by head trauma or stroke. He was found as a stray and picked up by ACS San Antonio. He was on the euthanasia list but the staff was so fond of him, they snuck him in the office and started begging rescues to take him. Because I have a huge heart for bully breeds, he is now an honorary chihuahua. Lil Oscar has no limitations, he just drools a lot on his left side. We add fresh pet or chicken to his dry food instead of giving him wet food and a large matt under his water and this helps him not be so messy. He still loves chewy bones and treats. He has so many great qualities, I am praying someone can see past the drool and love him anyway. ❤️ He is great with cats, kids, dogs. He walks perfect on leash, rarely barks, is potty trained, well socialized and he is a giant baby. He is full of love, so gentle, doesn’t jump up on you and he is great with little dogs too. He has a beautiful white coat, does not mark, squats to pee. He is a gentle soul and full of so much love to give. So please give him a chance. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.

Hello! My name is Allie!I've been waiting patiently for my new family since July 2023. I've been a very good girl - all the staff and volunteers say I'm an awesome dog - and I'm hopeful that my new humans will come along soon to welcome me into their family. I'm a fun and silly girl who loves to play. I'm a big cuddle bug and lap dog. I do have a big girl bark but I'm quite friendly with new people and will give lots of slobbery kisses. I'm not so comfortable with other dogs and would do best as the only pooch in the home. I'm looking forward to joining my new family!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Yes, mature and older.OTHER DOGS: No, I would be happiest as the only dog.CATS: Potentially. My history with cats is unknown. However with a cat confident and experienced around dog, and a savvy and patient pet owner, I might be able to live with a cat.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I'm looking for someone that has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended. HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings, as I sometimes bark at dogs when they get too close to me.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: No.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Story
Cutie Pie was rescued from BARC in Houston on April 26, 2024. She was found alone on the street with her muzzle wrapped tightly in tape. She'd only been at the shelter for 3 days when they put her on the list to be killed -- because she was limping a little. They did an x-ray and saw that there were no fractures or anything, but they decided she wasn't worth keeping around anyway. It's hard to stomach the choices made for these innocent lives...this puppy is estimated to be only around 5 months old.Not only is she stinkin adorable -- she's also really, really smart! She's crate-trained, good on a leash and knows basic commands. She's currently living in a kennel, so we haven't had a chance to gauge her house-manners yet...but even if she hasn't learned them yet, we have no doubt she'll pick up the rules in no time. This sweet, bubbly, eager young pup is available for foster or adoption. She can be transported to the perfect home for her to many locations throughout the US and Canada. Story
Hayat - The Resilient Shar Pei Cross: Hayat, a resilient female Shar Pei cross, came into this world under challenging circumstances. Found on the side of the highway as a tiny baby among many others, she faced a tough start to life. Fortunately, fate smiled upon her when a caring individual noticed her, rescuing her from the bustling roadside. Initially believed to have a swollen face from a bee sting, her journey took an unexpected turn when a visit to the clinic revealed the normality of her condition. Hayat's fortune changed, and she found herself on a path to recovery and love. Despite her early struggles, Hayat is now a loving and gentle soul, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience. However, Hayat's early experiences have left her a bit apprehensive towards external factors, making socialization a gradual process. She needs time to trust and acclimate to new surroundings and people. Despite this, once she familiarizes herself with a routine and the people around her, she becomes no different from other dogs. Hayat has a heart full of love and playfulness, especially evident when she engages with her feline companion, Pinar. Pinar - The Handsome Tabby Cat: Meet Pinar, a handsome male tabby cat with a tale as intriguing as his striking appearance. Discovered in a feeding area in the forest meant for dogs, Pinar's unique journey intertwined with that of Hayat. From the forest to a shared cage, and eventually to a loving home, Pinar's story is a testament to the resilience of animals. Despite his initial challenges, Pinar exudes charm and confidence. He has seamlessly adapted to domestic life, proving that love and care can transform even the most uncertain beginnings. Pinar, with his striking tabby coat and charismatic demeanor, has become an inseparable companion to Hayat. Together - A Bond Beyond Adversity: Hayat and Pinar, survivors of their tumultuous early days, found solace and companionship in each other. Their story took a turn when they were adopted into a home that, unfortunately, could not provide a permanent space for them. Now, under the care of the shelter's president in Turkey, they continue to share a home, a testament to their enduring friendship. Hayat, despite her initial shyness, blossoms in a familiar routine, especially when surrounded by the warmth of her feline friend. Pinar, with his tabby charm, adds a touch of elegance to their companionship. The duo, now 1.5 years old, is in search of a loving and lifelong home that will embrace them together, ensuring their inseparable bond endures beyond the trials of their early days. Patience and understanding are key to helping Hayat gradually open her heart to new experiences and people. Hayat and Pinar can fly to Toronto or Vancouver when they find their forever home! Energetic! Intelligent! Activity level: High energy. Vetting: Core vaccines (DH2PP, Rabies), neutered, microchipped, dewormed, fecal (negative), on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Due to the many health issues this breed is susceptible to, only applicants with prior French Bulldog (or brachycephalic breed experience) will be considered for adoption. *Health insurance is a must.* His future home must take precautions such as not over-exercising/over-exerting, taking care that he doesn't become overheated, limiting stress and seeking urgent medical attention if he ever goes into respiratory distress. Housebroken: Yes, but may have a couple accidents getting into his routine. Good with Dogs: No. Boris can be protective and territorial around other dogs, especially in his home environment. He can also be reactive to other dogs when out on leash. Boris must be the only pet in his forever home. Good with Cats: No. Good with Children: Boris needs an adult-only home. Prey drive: Yes. Response to the outdoors: Loves walks, hiking, swimming, paddle boarding and is curious about the world. Boris is the ultimate outdoorsy dog. Crate Trained: Yes. He has shown resource guarding with toys and food, especially with other pets. He can also territorially guard his people. Response to commands: Knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘heel’ and ‘fetch’. He likes to stop and sniff on walks. He has shown some reactivity to strangers and dogs while out on leash. Transportation: Boris loves being in the car. He is game for car adventures! *Boris’ bio may change as we get to know him better. *Comes with 6 weeks of pet insurance totalling $500 plus 2 free online taped training classes. *Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder for a response from our team. *Due to overwhelming responses & being entirely volunteers, we are only able to reach out to applicants we feel are the right fit for Boris. Thank you for your interest! Introducing loveable Boris! Boris the Frenchie loves to snuggle and is such an affectionate boy. He loves belly rubs and making snorty noises. Boris is definitely more of a morning guy and when the sun comes up, he is ready to play and start his day! Boris loves adventure, especially if that adventure includes his family. Whatever you are up to, he is happy to go along with. If he’s with his family, he is game for it all! Boris loves outdoor adventures and he is an amazing companion for hiking, walking, swimming and even paddle boarding! Boris is also a smart cookie and enjoys lots of mental stimulation games. He is doing agility training at home with his foster and is fantastic at it! He can jump super high and do all sorts of summersaults. Boris is a brachycephalic dog, so that means he will be snorty, snoring pup. You might need earplugs! We are looking for an adopter with French Bulldog knowledge due to the health concerns that can present in the breed. Luckily, Boris is a very healthy pup! Experience with brachycephalic dogs is absolutely required as he will need to be watched in the hot months for overheating and he will need a home with air conditioning to keep cool. Boris is very high energy for a French Bulldog. He can walk and hike for hours and lacks an “off” switch sometimes. So extra care must be taken to make sure he doesn’t overheat when it gets hotter out as well. Boris can be unpredictable with other dogs and is territorial within his home. He must be the only pet in his forever home. Boris can territorially guard his people and spaces along with having resource guarding with toys and food. Boris has also shown reactivity on leash while out on walks towards other dogs and strangers. Boris needs a specific home environment in order to thrive. He has shown stranger danger in his foster home and will need to be in an adult-only home with no other pets. To set him up for success, his adopters should have extensive and significant dog training knowledge and have preferably dealt with territorial guarding before. Boris is an advanced level need dog as he can be reactive to people and other pets. He needs an experienced owner as he needs lots of consistency. A home with very few visitors and without a lot of people coming and going would be ideal, as well as adopters that are prepared to take correct steps when someone does come over. The ideal forever home for Boris would be a securely fenced-in private rural property with land where Boris can run and play safely to his heart’s content without having to worry about running into strangers or other dogs. Boris would not do well living in the city or in a populated area with people and dogs walking around. He is currently being fostered on a farm and loves it! Even though Boris has specific needs in order to be his very best self, he will truly be a beacon of love in his adopters’ life. Boris is the kind of dog that will make you LAUGH. He has the best personality. When he gets excited he will flip in the air and summersault. He loves to suckle his baby dragon to sleep and makes the wildest noises and grunts. He often makes sideways glances so full of hilarity you won’t be able to stifle the laugh that will erupt. If hilarious and darling Boris is the right match for you, please fill out a Canine Adoption Application on our website at: covetedcanines.org/application
