Buddy the bulldog mix is approximately 3 years old and came to us very underweight at 35 lbs. We’d like to see him closer to 60 lbs. He is neutral with other dogs, cats and kids, but not good with farm animals. He was found as a stray outside of Dallas and taken to be examined by a vet by a good Samaritan. Buddy is already neutered. He was michrochipped but his owner did not want this sweet boy back when contacted. We think it is their loss! Before going to his forever home, he will be up to date on his shots, heartworm tested and a couple small masses removed from his sides. We will get him back up to an appropriate weight. Buddy is a sweet, chill dude that just wants cuddles with his people and naps on the couch. He is crate trained and house trained and is quickly learning to walk nicely on a leash. He doesn't like the cold weather we had this past winter so his foster got him a sweater! He rides really well in the car and is a perfect gentleman at the vet. Update on Buddy! He is gaining weight and is back to where he should be at about 65-75 lbs! Unfortunately it was discovered that he is heartworm positive and is in the treatment process. This process will take approximately 9 months, during which he can be adopted locally. Please help us find this sweet boy a forever home! 6/1/24 update: Buddy is still waiting for his forever home! He is the perfect dog so I don't know how he still doesn't have a home yet!

Bunnie & Jelly were surrendered at a vet clinic when their owner could not afford to care for them. They both have some skin issues that we are addressing and then they will be spayed & microchipped. They are up to date on shots, house trained and crate trained. Jelly is a sweet, cuddly girl who loves playing with the dogs and kids in her foster family! She seems to be good with cats, but will chase if she sees one running outside. Her skin is in much worse shape than Bunnie, but we are having it biopsied to see what can be done to help her. She may always have some interesting looking skin but that shouldn't prevent her from being the best snuggle buddy a person could ask for! Help us find her forever home!

She currently needs allergy therapy injections and will need to continue them throughout her life. She is good with other dogs and enjoys running with kids. She is not a couch potato, has plenty of energy, but will settle down and cuddle while watching TV with you. She LOVES squeaky toys, tennis balls, and treat puzzles. She loves nothing more than hanging out with her humans but does well in a kennel or alone in the house while gone. She couldn't care less about thunderstorms or fireworks. Mr. B has been the perfect houseguest in his foster home - he is kennel trained for those times that you need to leave home, but prefers to be sitting next to you or laying on the floor on his back so you can scratch his tummy. He likes to go for walks, but not too fast or too far. He enjoys car rides, especially from the passenger seat (he does need a little encouragement to stay on his side of the front seat). He's not loud, but he will bark (more like the sound a velociraptor makes in the Jurassic Park movies) when he needs to go outside. Mr. B is your typical Olde English Bulldog, stubborn but oh so loveable! He is a messy eater, so be prepared to wipe his loveable face after every meal. He requires a high quality dog food, if not, he has the most noxious farts...ever...like house clearing! He also requires periodic help cleaning his eyes and ears, and sometimes even his bottom. Occasionally he does jump up to get your attention, we are trying to break this habit but to be safe, no small children. Mr. B was returned to the Rescue in December 2023 after being in an adopter's home for 3 years. We took him to our Vet for a full exam, urinalysis, bloodwork, x-rays and heartworm test to determine his health. His bloodwork is normal and x-rays show that his heart looks normal and he has the usual elder statesman bulldog lungs. We had both his ears cleaned and treated with antibiotics, entropion surgery on his right eye and a dental cleaning and surgery to remove two infected teeth. Mr. B does have scars from his previous life on the streets and is missing one toe on his left front foot. It doesn't slow him down any, but he does walk with a limp. Mr. B completed fast kill heartworm treatment on February 1-2, 2024. He will need to remain on heartworm prevention for the rest of his life to prevent reinfection.
