Story
Sawyer is a “Pocket Bully” born in September 2018 with a cleft lip, cleft palate, and spina bifida. He is currently eating and drinking safely on his own and we don’t believe his cleft lip/palate will require any surgical intervention. Sawyer will always need a little extra supervision to make sure he doesn’t eat anything dangerous for him, and will never be able to safely eat wet or goopy foods like canned food, peanut butter, yogurt, or any other liquids other than water. But otherwise he is expected to live a long, healthy life. The spina bifida causes Sawyer to be incontinent and to have some weakness in his back legs. He can walk and get around very well, but he will be in diapers for the rest of his life. He is a very happy, spunky pup and is friendly with humans and other dogs. He needs a committed home willing to give him the extra care he needs to thrive. Sawyer has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is also micro chipped. Story
Howie is a petite little ADORABLE mixed breed who will steal your heart and entertain you for the rest of her days. She is the perfect car rider, very comfortable in the car, silly and SMART, loves toys and treats, eager to please, watches you for directions, great with my kids ages 2 and 5, loves with other dogs, she is VERY easy to love. I love her little easy petite size, her nub tail, her SUPER soft coat, and her playfulness. She will fling a toy back and forth like it’s party time. It’s very entertaining. She will play fetch as well!! She loves to play ball. We do think she needs a fenced yard, we just think she would do best with this. She has a great balanced energy level. She will also relax next to you and enjoy your company while you enjoy hers. She will lay for belly rubs and movie nights. She loves cuddles and loves to sit in your lap. Please watch her video to see all of this for yourself. I love Howie and I can’t wait for someone to adopt this treasure! https://youtu.be/EmJpMM04hk0?si=ddWHGIeDqnvMcimp She knows sit and shake! She seems smart, learns new routines really fast. She has been totally silent in the crate overnight. She will crate up, but obviously can’t wait to come out and be with you. When she comes out she flips over for belly rubs. She just LOVES people so much. She is estimated to be 2 years old based on energy level and teeth. She is only 39 lbs. We do not know her breed since she is a rescue!! We could be way off but we think she’s a Bulldog mixed with pit lab maybe? She has a mega soft flat coat very very soft, and medium length. And CUTE little nub tail that wiggles back and forth. The vet says she seems to be in excellent condition, very healthy. We are in love with Howie!!!! Named by my 2 year old daughter when we saved her. Howie goes out for play groups with other dogs and does really well!! She is a fun player. She’s very well socialized while she awaits adoption. We think how we would do best in a home with a submissive dog that will not try to dominate her, she currently lives in a foster home with little dogs, and is doing great! She’s potty trained, crate trained, and easy to have around. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Greetings, adventure seekers! My name is Arwen, and I am a 2-ish-year-old Bull terrier mix who is looking to make some lucky family feel loved and protected. I'm an active girl who narrowly escaped a high-kill shelter with my puppies thanks to a really dedicated and creative network of volunteers. I'm a smaller girl - about 33 pounds - and I'm already crate and house trained. I am still trying to master the magic of the leash, but I'm smart and highly motivated. I absolutely love to play with other dogs, chase toys and go for walks and hikes. I also love to snuggle my humans. I am learning about new things and doing really well with basic training. I am very food motivated and eager to please. I need humans who are active, committed to continuing to socialize and train me and who have a gentle nature. I get a bit scared of yelling or angry behavior, but I am very easy to correct with positive reinforcement. I love to work, and I'm extremely athletic. I would be an amazing, dedicated hiking or running companion. And I'm just as good at cuddling as I am at keeping you company on an outdoor adventure. I'd be amazing at dog sports like agility, and I'm learning some scent games from my foster family. I am probably too playful for cats and too active for small children. It's imperative that I continue being socialized because I just haven't been exposed to much (except hunger and neglect) the first couple of years of my life. So if you are looking for a small pup with a huge heart, I might be just what you've been looking for! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Poppy is a beautiful 1 year old female Shar Pei x heeler mix of sorts and weighs in at 35 lbs. Poppy is so fun to have around and she loves everyone she meets, and is confident that everyone will love her back! Poppy enjoys older kids and dogs that are her size or larger. One of Poppy's favorite things to do is chase and wrestle with her foster brother, so she will be happiest in a home with another outgoing and friendly dog that will run and play with her. She loves to chew on bones and play with toys. Poppy enjoys finding items and carrying them around, but she is not destructive! She is crate trained and knows how to sit. We are working on leash training and so far she has been a dream! No pulling and stays right alongside her human. She is also getting used to riding in a car and does really well! She is an enthusiastic cuddler and loves to be right with her people to get all the attention she can. She is a wonderful dog and is going to make an amazing companion. Poppy is a medium sized, stalky girl, that has a generally calm and initially timid personality. Once comfortable she is easy going, sweet, loyal and loving! She is generally chill and docile but does have natural prey drive and tendencies to chase so a home without cats or small animals is a requirement. Poppy is quiet, house trained, dog door trained, and crate trained. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
