Story
Victorious, an intelligent Lab/English Shepherd mix, got her name because she came in as the smallest of the litter of 6. She was standoffish and let her siblings push her away from the food. And they never left her any leftovers. With separate feeding, Victorious began to gain weight, which gave her more confidence, knowing that she was not going hungry anymore. Like her sibling Curly Sue, she is a year old, house-trained, and likes the water but prefers to lounge in the pool instead of play. Come meet this special girl!

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Huntsville, AL Meet Liberty! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered and microchipped, but isn’t up to date on shots or on heartworm prevention. Liberty is good with kids and dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Liberty bit the owner’s husband. This happened when her husband was trying to get him to go into another room. Liberty evaded him and went around the table and then underneath it. When he came out from under the table, her husband tried to steer him by his scruff (Liberty wasn’t wearing a collar) and re-direct him. That is when Liberty bit him. The owner is surrendering him because he bit her husband. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Liberty, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Liberty. Owner’s Contact Information: Nicole Herceg at nicemmert@gmail.com.

Story
Ekko, is a nice dog and a goofball. He is active and would like some interaction. BUT he has some problems. He owns stuff and he wants to keep it. This dog needs to get to know and trust you, so no kids, cats and needs experienced adopters who have knowledge about resource guarding. Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Story
Meet Trooper! He is truly a Trooper! This poor baby was hit by a car at 6 months old and after multiple opinions from multiple vets we knew we had to have his leg amputated. It hasn't phased him but it was a rough recovery for this active little guy. He knew the vet's office and staff as well as his foster mom and home for the first couple months! He is 100% healed, neutered, up to date on all shots, chipped, and ready for his FURever home. He is a border/aussie mix and therefore high energy. He runs like the wind and tries to herd all his foster brothers and sisters (some tolerate that better than others). He loves everyone and everything but has not been around cats. I think he would be fine with them once he learns but would need to be tested. Trooper is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and anyone interested would need to bring their other fur-babies (if possible) to meet him to ensure everyone gets along and it is a good fit for all. If you are interested in Trooper please fill out a non-binding application at forrescue.net/dog-application
