Story
Shadow is a 6 year old English shepherd. He has been our beloved family pet for years but as he has gotten older he has had a harder and harder time getting along with the other pets and many animals on our farm. We have had to make a difficult decision to give him up because he is no longer getting along with them. Other than this issue, Shadow is very sweet, well trained, laid back inside and has no destructive tendencies. What he really needs is a home where there are preferably no other pets. Shadow can stay home by himself with no problems, he doesn't chew and is perfectly horse trained. He walks on leash very well, doesn't pull. He also knows basic commands: sit, stay, lay down, come, paw etc. He needs exercise but not an excessive amount and will be happy with a few walks a day. We really want him to have the best home possible and know that he is happy and well taken care of. We just want him to be happy with his new home.

Story
Beau Geste was purchased as a puppy from a breeder in South Carolina, but was surrendered to a local rescue several years later because he was fearful and had a bite history. He was adopted out as an emotional support dog and, although loved, wasn’t cut out for the job and his behavior only escalated. Beau has come such a long way in his foster home. Once fearful of humans and displaying "nip and run" behavior, Beau is now curious and interested in meeting new people (unless you make too much eye contact, which he considers untrustworthy and shady). Beau gets along with dogs of all breeds and sizes.  Even as a senior, he gives the best play bows and enjoys an occasional romp around the yard or house. He is also good with dog-savvy cats. Beau has received extensive obedience training and behavior modification from his foster, who is a professional dog trainer.  It is believed that Beau's initial human aggression was a result of excessive physical (and possibly verbal) correction. An e-collar cannot be used under any circumstance, as it elicits an aggressive response.  Beau is a talker but can be easily redirected, so patience and a little humor are required. Beau would do best with only positive training methods and a Fear-Free Certified veterinarian and groomer. Beau is looking for a quiet home with not a lot of activity or frequent guests. He would do best in an adult-only home with an adopter who can read his cues.  He is a low-maintenance dog, content to lie in his bed across the room from you, and requires a consistent, predictable routine.  Beau's favorite things in life are butt scratches and cookies.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. Story
From Hamlet's foster mom: Hamlet is an affectionate, loving dog. He takes instruction very easily and is food/treat-motivated. He loves sleeping in a crate overnight, and whenever we leave the house for an extended time, is happy enough to be in there during the day even though his older foster brother is not crated. Hamlet has gotten along with anyone who visits, contractors at our house, other dogs at the dog park, loves to be outside (and goes out often daily), and does a great job leash walking the neighborhood with a Gentle Leader. He is an energetic but not excitable two-year-old who loves to run and play, is working on "fetch" and "bring", enjoys chew toys, snuggles on the couch and recliner, and has learned to sit and wait for his dinner. Hamlet would thrive with an active family with an outside fenced yard (although he could learn an electric fence probably as he is very smart) and while he has a gruff bark, does not use it frequently, only in play with his dog mates. He is short-haired and has taken well to being groomed as he enjoys touch. We think he is a wonderful mix of Labrador with Dutch shepherd, boxer, or American bulldog, or any of the above. Hamlet is, however, working on loving a car ride, and we believe with our frequent trips to the dog park he will soon love it. He is super friendly; we can't say enough about this foster, as he will make a loving family member.
