DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Camden is 3yo, weighs 60lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, but is not up to date on his vaccines.  Camden's guardian adds:  "He knows 'sit', 'stay', 'lay down', 'come', fetches well, basic hand targeting, 'catch' ball out of air.  Very smart dog and fast learner who does well with commands and tasks.  Cam is one of the smartest and most affectionate/sweet dogs I have had/met.  He is extremely loyal, eager to please and loves to be snuggled/rubbed.  Camden dislikes/fears fire, smoke, long objects in hand, alarms, and balloons.  He does very well, likes the car, is trained to stay in the back seat.  He has free roam of the house during the day and at night is in hallway of upstairs/roams outside of bedroom."   Camden's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Camden is a protective and at times nervous dog.  He has growled as a protective measure at both me and my wife, as well as a few others.  He has nipped at/lunged/grazed my sister-in-law twice.  His aggression has always been circumstantial and brought on by feeling not at ease/threatened or over stimulated. As we grow our family, managing his interaction with our babies, and with others who have to come and go from the house is challenging and creates a situation where separating him from the family so often is more harmful and stressful than we'd like, for both him and us. Bite/Lunge/Attack Incidents:  In December 2022 and in October 2023, Camden bit an extended family member; the bite broke the skin; animal control was not involved; medical treatment was not necessary.  Camden's guardian explains:   "12/2022: Camden received a new toy for Christmas.  My sister-in-law went to retrieve the toy, which Camden quickly had become protective over.  He lunged at her when she reached for it, growling and broke the skin. 10/2023: We had gotten home from a fairly long time away from the house and were with my sister-in-law and wife's parents.  My father-in-law was playing with Cam in one room, and my sister-in-law (who Cam has frequently been uneasy around) came into the room. Cam felt threatened (maybe protective of my father-in-law) and went after her, breaking skin when he lunged at her.  My father-in-law and I separated him, but a bruise and scratch/small bite mark was left." Camden's guardian states the following regarding children:  Camden lives with 2 children, 2-week-old twins, but his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "Inquisitive, smells them, protective/anxious presence around them, curious". Camden's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Camden doesn't live with a dog, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "When he was younger, he did very well, but around and after his neutering he became more aggressive when around dogs.  Has not spent significant time with other dogs for over a year". Camden's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Camden doesn't live with a cat, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "Chases them". Camden's guardian describes him as: Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Fearful Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Camden's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Ideal future home is a family without kids in the house who has a relatively quiet home life without many people (strangers) coming and going.  Cam does well with people he knows but can get overstimulated and anxious when too many people are in the family space for extended time.  Ideally the home would have space for him to play fetch and even explore with his owners (like a small farm).  He is a very active and playful dog who could benefit from more work outside.  Cam is one of the smartest and most affectionate/sweet dogs I have had/met.  He is extremely loyal, eager to please, and loves to be snuggled/rubbed.  He needs to feel assured and cared for and would benefit from owners who are attentive to when he cues for being on high alert/threatened." Story
Papaya is a favorite here at the ranch. She loves to walk and smell everything. She loves to play with her best friend Tofu. She gets along with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. She is full of energy so she is ideal for taking on an adventure. She would be best in a home with older kids. She is very loving and always looking for rubs and treats. She is one of those dogs that just wants to have fun. She follows commands and is always willing to learn. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She can be transported anywhere in the US and Canada. ##1499373##

Story
Angus will tolerate the crate and is house trained. He is extremely vocal when he needs or wants anything, and will continue to vocalize until that need is met. For that reason, Angus will need someone that is often home and is willing to be very patient with him. He coexists well with dogs in his foster home, but is not super playful. A quieter home would be best, and being an only dog would be fine. He is untested with children and didn't exactly pass his cat test with flying colors. Angus could use continued leash work and seems to have some weakness in his hind legs. He will need regular grooming and is well behaved at those appointments. He loooooves snuggles!
